Spacious and comfortable house on the beautiful Muskoka River.
Cedar Shores Lodge — Muskoka River, Bracebridge Quiet riverfront retreat on the Muskoka River, just 10 minutes from downtown Bracebridge.
The Property Perched on the banks of the Muskoka River along the peaceful Matthiasville Road, Cedar Shores Lodge offers a true Muskoka escape without the crowds. Set on roughly two sprawling acres of maintained lawn, there's room to spread out, play, and unwind — all with the river as your backdrop. The waterfront is the heart of this property. A sandy, gradual entry makes it ideal for wading in and cooling off, while the river deepens nicely for a proper swim. Bring a picnic down to the water's edge, fire up the supplied fire bowl (subject to local fire restrictions), and settle in as the river drifts by. A few lengths of shoreline firewood are provided — if you need more, you're welcome to gather appropriately sized deadfall from the surrounding bush. Canada geese make seasonal appearances with their young, and the property sits in the middle of flying squirrel habitat — keep an eye out at dusk.
The House Step inside and you'll find a home built for gathering. The extra-large kitchen anchors the main floor, well-equipped with cookware, crockery, a gas stove, and electric oven — everything you need to cook for a full house. The adjacent dining room keeps everyone connected whether you're prepping meals or sitting down together. The living room invites you to sink in: comfortable couches, a large smart TV, an electric fireplace for cooler evenings, and a solid collection of classic board games. Starlink internet keeps you connected when you want to be. Just off the kitchen, a screened room with lounge seating offers bug-free morning coffees and late-night conversations — no swatting required.
Bedrooms: Master bedroom — King bed, 3-piece ensuite (shower, toilet, vanity), and a dedicated desk for anyone who needs to sneak in a bit of work. Second master — Queen bed with a reading nook by a large rear window, two padded chairs, and a stocked bookshelf. The perfect spot to disappear into a novel. Two kids' rooms — Each with bunk beds, cozy and tucked away. Additional: Full main bathroom with shower-over-bath, washer and dryer, central forced-air heating and cooling.
The Waterfront & Outdoor Living Swimming — Sandy entry, gradual slope, deepens nicely for proper swims. Paddling — One kayak and one paddle board supplied (stored at the back of the house — short carry down to the water). Bring your own lifejackets. Fishing — The Muskoka River holds walleye, pike, and more. Bring your gear and an Ontario fishing license. Fireside — Fire bowl and picnic table right at the shoreline. Lawn games — With two acres of grass, you've got the perfect canvas for croquet, bocce, cornhole — bring your favorites. Deck — Good-sized with a gas barbecue and river views.
Bracebridge & Beyond The cabin feels worlds away, yet downtown Bracebridge is a 10-minute drive — and it punches well above its weight.
