Stairway to Heaven Cabin

Great cabin located in the heart of Mount Lemmon, with lots of shade. The cabin is within walking distance to Summerheaven and a short distance to Ski Valley. This cabin is great for a family of four and has all the amenities you'll need for a great cabin stay. We are pet-friendly. The cabin has two decks to enjoy, and we have very relaxing deck seating available and a comfortable hammock to lay down and enjoy the shade.

This cabin is not called “Stairway to Heaven” for nothing. From the north side of the cabin (road), it will take you 62 steps to the cabin entrance. However, you can drive up the private driveway on the south side of the cabin, which is 32 steps down to the cabin entrance. You have to drive up a hill to get to the private driveway. The hill may seem steep; however, this is the easiest way to get to the cabin's south side/main entrance; a 4x4 or all-wheel-drive car is recomended.

Great Getaway Cabin

Beautiful property tucked back in the mountains. Exactly what we had hoped for and the host was very communicative and helpful. We brought our large great dane mixed dog and she had a great time too! Has everything needed for cold weather- a fireplace, split unit heater, plug in heaters, water heater, snow shovel, etc. It happened to snow quite a bit while we were up there and the cabin stayed warm and comfortable (almost too hot at times!) The host was very helpful with tips on where to park and what to bring too. Would love to visit again. Thank you Francisco!

A piece of heaven

My wife and I celebrated our 23rd anniversary in this little piece of heaven. It was so much fun to unplug from the outside world. Our host Francisco was on top of his game and made sure that we have a very relaxing visit.

7th anniversary getaway

We had a wonderful stay at your cozy cabin in the woods. We unplugged, relaxed, played games, saw a pack of coatimundi, played with the pups, and watched movies. Wonderful way to celebrate our anniversary. We will be back!

25th Wedding Anniversary

We very much enjoyed a peaceful and quiet few days together. None of the cabins around us were occupied and it snowed! We would recommend this cabin to family and friends and would come back again.

Very nice and relaxing stay. Property was clean and spacious. Kitchen was stocked with basic necessities. Had a grill we made use of for steak. We’ve stayed at many cabins and each have different perks and this didn’t fall short. The stairs were something to get used too not my favorite. Close to shopping and restaurants and great for a nice stroll around the little area. The best part was it’s so close to Tucson. Book early these cabins go fast and this one was no different. Host had great communication and we never had unanswered questions.

Great cabin awesome location

Our stay at the cabin was absolutely delightful! The location is perfect—close to the shops in Summerhaven, yet far enough away to enjoy peace and quiet without all the traffic. Nestled on a picturesque hill, the cabin offers breathtaking views and a serene environment.The cabin itself is spacious and cozy, with a charming loft and all the comforts of home. The full kitchen is well-equipped, making it easy to prepare meals. We loved having two TVs and reliable internet access, which made for a perfect mix of relaxation and entertainment.The front and back porches are fantastic spots to unwind and take in the natural beauty of the surroundings. And as a pet-friendly cabin, it was wonderful to have our furry friend join us for the vacation.Overall, this cabin is a gem, and we can't wait to return for another wonderful stay!

A winter getaway

This location was good and I’m glad I had my truck to navigate the dirt roads. Francisco was great with communicating all of the necessary information to make it an enjoyable stay! Based on previous reviews, we were expecting a bit more from this cabin. We felt the kitchen needed a very deep cleaning. It lacked the items needed, although it had plenty of grilling accessories. Being it was December, we decided to bring homemade soups. To our surprise, there were no ladles and we also could not find a butter knife. The mini split heater and fireplace kept the cabin comfortable. It did take a few hours to get warm, which was expected, but after that, the next four days were fine. The internet and smart TV worked fine. The one issue we had was that the couch facing the TV was broken and uncomfortable to sit on. We brought this issue up to Francisco, but his timeline to resolve the problem was after we left. They knew about this issue before we arrived, but nothing was said to us. All in all, it was an okay stay.

An Absolute Dream Trip

I had been eyeing this wonderful cabin for a while, and was finally lucky enough to book it as part of my wife’s birthday getaway with our family. From the moment we booked, Francisco (our host) was an absolute gem of a human being. His communication from the start was above and beyond, as he made sure I understood the details of our stay, sent helpful videos on how to operate the wood stove, and made it clear he was here to help us any time with any issues or concerns while residing in the cabin. No issues were encountered, as he made sure of that from the start. The cabin itself was absolutely magical. You can tell the cabin was renovated in recent years, with a lot of love going into the ambiance of the place, and was clean and very cozy. The location is absolutely perfect, as the property is tucked well away from the hustle and bustle of major roads, and the neighborhood itself was quiet and tranquil. A huge thanks needs to go to Francisco, as he was such a gracious host. You can tell he truly cares about the experiences his guests have in his wonderful home, and we will absolutely come back, as there is no other place we would want to stay while up on the mountain. Wonderful memories were made there, and I guarantee without doubt other guests will have the same top-notch experience we had. I now realize the name Stairway to Heaven isn’t just a reference to the multitude of stairs leading to the cabin. This home is truly heaven tucked away in a forest paradise.

The perfect getaway

My boyfriend, dog and I stayed at this cabin for a weekend getaway and had the best time. The cabin is easily accessible, right in town and close to other things to do on the mountain. The property owner Francisco sent very detailed instructions for directions, how to use the fireplace and was very available for any questions we had. The cabin itself is so cute with front and back porches and its filled with games and movies. It was above and beyond what we were expecting and have already discussed booking this cabin again the next time we come up. I would highly recommend this location to any of my friends/family.

Forest haven

Our mid-week forest stay was lovely. We sat under the forest canopy, hiked, watched bird and squirrel antics. The cabin met our expectations. We had no problems with the stairs. We were not able to make or receive cell phone calls but texting with Francisco regarding getting the heat going was easily accomplished.

labor day weekend getaway

Absolutely perfect place if looking for a weekend (or longer) getaway from the heat in Tucson. The cabin is close to everything - can walk to restaurants etc in Summerhaven, yet still very secluded, surrounded by trees. Very easy communication with the owner as well. no problems getting checked in or out. Kitchen was well stocked, gas grill was perfect for cooking most meals, and fire pit on patio was also a big plus. A wonderful place to stay

Wonderful visit!

This was our first Vrbo visit, and we were delighted by our experience. Francisco was a wonderful host. The photographs and descriptions were accurate, and I was impressed by the thoughtful binder that had instructions for everything from the air conditioning to the DVD player. Francisco also replied to messages very quickly. 5 stars!

Perfect

This could not have been any dreamier. It was by far the best location on the mountain. Away from the traffic, but only half a mile down. I was able to make it to Marshall Gulch and back in less than an hour. There is a beautiful hidden trail if you take a left from the cabin that is away from the crowds of people. The cabin had everything I needed and was cozy and quiet. It was exactly what I was looking for and even better than pictured here. The mountain water tasted delicious and the cool air was welcomed! My dog loved that the gate closed on the porch so he could watch all the critters in the woods. I will be back.

Respite from the Arizona Heat!!

We had a very enjoyable stay at the "Stairway to Heaven" cabin. It was clean, equipped with everything we needed, and the location (7700' in the Mt Lemmon area, temperatures in upper 70's during day) gave us access to excellent hiking trails, beautiful visas and panoramic views of the area. The town of Summerhaven was quaint and easy to get to (walk if you wanted). Our Host, Francisco, was readily available, extremely helpful in many ways and made our stay pleasant. We will definitely be back.

Stairway to Heaven is Perfectly Named

Our stay at Stairway to Heaven was fantastic from start to finish. Francisco was a warm and gracious host and was quick to respond to our questions. We wanted to escape the heat and stay in a cabin in the woods for a few days, and the property exceeded our expectations. The location was serene and peaceful, offering a perfect retreat from the heat of the valley. All we could hear from the cabin's large deck were the sounds of birds, creating an incredibly tranquil atmosphere. The cabin itself was cozy and well-equipped. We highly recommend Stairway to Heaven for anyone looking to enjoy the beauty of Summerhaven and the surrounding area. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

We love to visit Mt. Lemmon as much as we can and bought this cabin with the intent to spend more quality time with my family. I did some renovations by adding some new stairs and a family deck. After spending the first couple of months at the cabin, I thought it would be a great idea to share our cabin with families that love the outdoors and Mt. Lemmon as much as we love it.

We bought this cabin because it is truly a cabin and not a house. From the first time you walk into the cabin, you get the feel of the mountains. The cabin is surrounded by tons of trees and is very shaded. You can sit back outside and enjoy the mountains, or take a walk to Summerhaven or hit the trails close by.

この宿泊施設の特徴

There are two ways to get to the cabin. It's not called the "Stairway to Heaven Cabin", for nothing. You can park on the north end of the cabin, across the street from the bottom of the stairway leading up to the cabin, this is a long way at 62 steps from the bottom of the stairway to entrance of the cabin. It's not a straight walk-up, you have to take your time and take a breather between stair levels.

Then, there is an easy way. Drive about 75 more yards east. You will see a street sign named, "Tanger". At first look, Tanger road looks intimidating because the road looks very steep, but it is not. You don't need a four-wheel-drive car or an all-wheel-drive car, you just need to put your car into low gear and drive up slow. In about 200 yards, you will see two red light reflectors, this is our driveway. The driveway is private and can only be accessed by the renter. You can turn your car around in the driveway. The stairway from the top of the driveway to the deck of the cabin is 32 steps leading south.
