Our cozy family cabin sits on Clearwater Lake located 7 miles NW of Chisholm/Hibbing and 7 miles from McCarthy Beach State Park.
Well maintained, newer built cabin, with 2 bedrooms (1 queen, 1 twin over full bunk) 1 gas fireplace and 2 spacious rooms with radiant floor heat throughout. Professionally decorated simply in a vintage camping lodge style.
Shallow sandy swimming beach, perfect for kids. Full dock and firepit to enjoy s’mores by the lake. Outdoor charcoal grill.
Enjoy abundant fishing off the dock on this pristine spring fed lake. Enjoy a cup of coffee while sitting on the dock and listen to the call of the loons. And in the winter, watch the deer feed out front as you sit by the fire. We have games and books for those snowy/rainy days.
This is a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life!
*we have also added a row boat & paddle board for guest use

Our stay was as relaxing as I had hoped. The cabin had everything we needed to make ourselves feel at home. Hosts were kind and provided great communication. I would definitely recommend and would go back in the future.

I grew up coming to Hibbing as a child and was so happy to stay at this cabin. The accomodations were clean and comfortable and the lake so clear and beautiful.

Cute cabin on quiet lake. The only problem was that it could have been cleaned better. There was a dirty sock on the floor and parts of the rooms that looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a long while.

Treasured family traditionThis was my 5th time staying at the Bensons' cabin. As always, it was amazing. We live only a half hour or so away, but don't have our own lake place. Our annual stay at Clearwater provides us many northern Minnesota lake memories. We especially love rowing and stand up paddle boarding, and my girls have really gotten into fishing the past couple of years (this time my older daughter added a nice bass to our sheetpan seafood "boil"). As I've stated in my previous reviews, the cabin in tidy, needs are provided for, and I love the decor. Communication has always been responsive. We'll be back next year!

Fantastic get away

We had a great time with our two young children and will be back next year! The property is beautiful and very peaceful with modern amenities. The only small issues were the lack of curtains and the sulfur smell from the well water. Thanks for having us!

Pull up a chair

My husband and I wanted time away from Dallas and to visit family in Minnesota. This property was everything we needed and more. Sitting on the dock - with or without a fishing pole was amazing.

Peaceful getaway

This is a cozy cabin yet has lots of open space for family. The lake is quiet and crystal clear. It doesn’t get much better than this!

Relaxing get away

Late Oct 2024 Karen was so nice and gave us very accurate information on hiking areas nearby. It was also easy to check in. The cabin was cute and clean. We spent a lot of time by the fireplace while enjoying the view of the lake. The kitchen was fully stacked. Was even provided fresh water, coal for the grill, and firewood for the pit. We would definitely stay again.

A north woods cabin located on a quiet and remote lake? Yes, please! Clean and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. Games, blankets and a fireplace add to the cozy feel. Host communication was prompt and helpful.

Very comfy cabin

The cabin is very comfortable and well appointed. The setting by the lake is lovely and we enjoyed a bug free evening by the firepit! The weekend we were there (late august), the potable water had a very strong smell to it that was hard to ignore even a while after showering. Fortunately, the fridge had two gallons of fresh water for coffee and drinking. You might want to bring more water if you plan on cooking or using more.

Another great week at Clearwater Lake

This was our 4th year staying at the Bensons'. It has turned into a treasured family tradition. We live only about 40 minutes away but don't have a lake property in the family. Our annual week on Clearwater allows us to do all of the classic Minnesota summer things - rowing, paddleboarding, swimming, fishing, and campfires, plus the convenience of home! So grateful you're willing to share your place with us!

Cabin weekend

We thought staying in a cabin vs hotel would be nice this trip. Cabin space was nice, second bedroom would be difficult for two or three to stay in. We didn’t use the kitchen or any outdoor amenities of property ( due to thick mosquitoes!). Communication and check in were very efficient made easy. I wish we would have known that they requested you take military showers as we had planned on having 4 guests… this would have created an issue. The cabin was not very clean. Lots of cobwebs and hair all over the sheets .. I wasn’t sure they were clean. No streaming device or DVD player for use. Overall nice for our use but the cleanliness was unfortunate.

Peaceful cabin and neighborhood

Enjoyed the cabin experience. Lake was beautiful and if into fishing the pike were biting even late into the season as we were. Owner allowed us to use our own trolling motor on the row boat which made going around the lake more enjoyable. Easy access to great off road vehicle trails where we were able to enjoy multiple wildlife species. Satelite/Wifi access was easy and worked well. Proximity to additional mining/tourist attractions was also a plus for us. Our only negative comment is that the mattress for master bedroom though clean, felt like it was getting tired and should be replaced. Overall we enjoyed our experience and would highly recommend this rental if you are looking for quiet getaway.
