Greenbrier River Country Retreat

Sit on the porch or enjoy activities along the Greenbrier River, which is directly across the street from this spacious country home in the heart of Alderson. You will have a front row seat for the largest 4th of July celebration in the state of West Virginia!

The house features 3 large bedrooms and is family friendly, we even have a pack-and-play for the little ones. There are two smart TVs, wifi and a fully equipped kitchen. So if you want to enjoy the area or stay indoors, you're all set!

Good place to stay

Clean and safe house. Conveniently located near restaurant and store. Small yard. No washer and dryer.

All come home to roost

We enjoy staying here immensely. We have numerous family members in the area,and this house is great for a lot of reasons. Not only is the location ideal but the house itself is extremely comfortable, clean, and communication with the host is exceptional. I stayed here a couple of years back and God willing, I'll be back again.

5 Star stay! Wonderful house and location!

What a wonderful stay! The house is perfect! We had 6 total, 4 adults and 2 teenagers and had lots of room for everyone to spread out. The house was exceptionally clean, had absolutely everything you could probably need or want, and the location across the river was nice. The covered front porch was wonderful for nights sitting around and talking. I don't have a single complaint, everything was perfect. The owners were responsive within minutes for the one question we did reach out with. A great stay, probably the best rental property we have stayed in during our years of travel.

Enjoyable stay in remote town!

Everything was very clean and nice. We were familiar with the town. Even though there isn’t much around, it was in the middle of a bunch of towns we all needed to get to. Every room was clean and we tried our best to make sure we left the rental better than we found it. Would stay again.

Great visit!

We loved this house! It was perfectly located in a small friendly town. The river view is spectacular. It's a short drive to Lewisburg where our family lives. They visited us. We sat on the porch chatting for hours. Cushions are provided which made it a comfy visit. My mom enjoyed it so much she wants to return!

Nice house with lots of room. Did not find a pak n play, but brought one just in case. Very good communication with owner.

Great times

Nice house, my sister lives next door. Was able to be with family and enjoy the river and weather. Would add tv to bedrooms. Great place to stay, very clean.

So Clean and Cozy

This house was really the perfect house for my family. We were in the area because we were visiting my daughter who attends school a few towns away. We were visiting her during Christmas, and I wanted to find a house that would make us feel like we were in our own home. I choose the right house. Plenty of space, super clean, spacious kitchen and cozy. What I also liked about the house is it was stocked with things that I didn’t necessarily want to go buy like dish soap, a roll of paper towels, dishwasher detergent etc…. There was also an awesome dollar store down the road that was basically a mini super market. I would definitely book this house again for future visits to the area.

Relaxing and lovely

We're in the Alderson area a few times a year, so it was nice to find a rental with charm and in an easy to access location. Very clean, great communication with owner, Dave, comfortable beds, big kitchen was fully stocked and plenty of seating to dine, more than what we needed but will be great for a larger party. It was our first trip with our son, his wife and their 9 month old baby and they also loved the property. I am handicapped, so having a downstairs bedroom and bath with walk-in shower was really helpful. We didn't know if the fireplace was functional. Didn't see any instructions but it wasn't cold enough to need it, either. Just mentioning it so Dave can know that a note about the fireplace would be helpful. Good instructions about dealing with the trash. Appreciated the clothes basket to leave towels in. Also appreciated the note about the trick-or-treaters to expect since we were there for Halloween. We don't get them where we live so a quick trip to the Family Dollar store around the corner to get candy allowed us to join the festivities. We had a wonderful time and will definitely return! Thanks, Dave!

Traveled for reunion

We have always stayed at the motel in the past but really wanted a place to relax. This house and Dave’s other property were perfect. The porch got a workout! It had everything we needed, view was amazing; beds and baths comfortable. I can’t wait to stay here again - found out this home was built by my uncles second grade teacher Mrs. Johnston back in the day Very, very satisfied.

Cozy, cute house. Nice view of the river. comfortable beds. 1 air unit upstairs, it got pretty warm

overall experience was Great! No surprises. A washer and dryer would have made it perfect, especially after spending majority of time doing outdoor adventures. The owner was very responsive and helpful. would definitely rent again.
