Welcome to Blue Heron House, your private canal-front escape in the heart of Key Colony Beach. This ground-level, single-family home offers 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and is tucked away in a quiet, safe, and walkable neighborhood—perfect for unwinding and enjoying island life.

The home sits on a deep, wide canal with a 75-ft dock (45 ft of usable boat dockage due to the boat lift) and provides quick access to the Vaca Cut Bridge. From here, both the Atlantic and Gulf are just minutes away, making it an ideal location for boating, fishing, and diving. The dock is equipped with a fish-cleaning station, running water, and an umbrella for added convenience.

This east-facing home features a private heated pool, barbecue grill, and a fully equipped kitchen—everything you need for relaxing days at home. Guests also enjoy access to The Cabana Club, which offers a large pool, hot tub, sandy beach, as well as an on-site restaurant and bar.

Key Colony Beach is a peaceful, friendly community with easy walkability and access to public tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts, along with a Par-3 golf course. For your enjoyment, the home includes kayaks, tennis rackets, pickleball paddles, and family board games.

Rentals are typically Saturday to Saturday, with flexible dates available between September and December.

Spring break

This house was perfect for our family spring break vacation. It was very clean and had everything we needed. Our children especially loved the pool and fishing from the ledge. We visited Sunset Beach daily as it was only a few minutes walking from our house. We also enjoyed swimming in the large pool at the Cabana Club! We did a day trip to Key West and also rented a fishing charter. This amazing house and beautiful location let us create some lifelong memories with our family! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Awesome place in the perfect location

Wow! This was a great place to stay. Clean, spacious, everything we wanted. Helen was great to deal with, she checked on us when we arrived in Florida to make sure we made it to the house ok. The house had everything we needed. It was also the perfect location to go where we needed to go. The pool was warm and great tonrelax in. We enjoyed the beach club a few days. Just and awesome place.

Will Rent Again!

Our family LOVES the Key Colony Beach community and this property had absolutely everything we needed.We have a special needs daughter plus a rambunctious 7 year old boy that's full of energy. Finding a place that caters to both is difficult to find but this place checked all of the boxes.Everything was so well organized and taken care of. Absolutely zero complaints.We can't wait to come back.

Fantastic Stay

This is a lovely home and Helen was the best host we have had in all our years. We have been frequenting Marathon at least annually for 25+ years. In those years, we have had many very good hosts, but Helen's response to our questions was not only incredibly prompt but also very accommodating. The home had everything you need, was very comfortable including the beds and the canal is perfect for boating along with fishing. Perfect place and host. Thanks Helen for making our trip so enjoyable.

AWESOME!!

This was the easiest booking and check in ever! Helen was the perfect host. The place is located on a big canal. There was all kinds of big boats docked along the canal so I feel safe to say that any guest bringing a boat is good to go. We have a 28 ft boat, big trailer and big truck. First VRBO where there wasnt any issue with parking, plenty, plenty of space! The house is very spacious and well equiped. The pool and backyard is great! I will most definitely book this place again! I just wish I could put more people in the house because I'm bringing my whole family back this summer but I need space for 10 people this time. Thank you again Helen!!

Wonderful Stay!

This was a wonderful stay for our family of five (all adults). The house is exactly as advertised and supplied with all that we needed. We enjoyed swimming daily in the pool and caught plenty of fish in this great canal. A nice short walk to Sunset Park (even got to watch the St. Patrick’s Day parade for Key Colony Beach) and a quick hop over to the Cabana Club to enjoy another part of the community. Helen was very helpful anytime we had to reach out. We would love to stay here again for our time in the Keys!

Great Location!

First Extended Winter Stay

We were very happy with our stay at this property. This was our first experience escaping the north for an entire month in the winter and we loved every minute of it. The neighborhood is friendly and quiet. The house amenities were perfect for hosting family when they visited. The kitchen is well stocked and the patio area is perfect. We have already signed up for another month in 2024!
