Built in 2013, Water's Edge is a secluded, warm, & rustic 2nd story home situated above a horse barn turned epic HIGH BARR Real Estate office with perhaps the best view in the county! Enjoy the sunrise over the pond from the 12'x30' deck, or the animals grazing to the south. The Farm Stay is entertainment central boasting of a large open living room/full kitchen with a wood pellet stove for your enjoyment on those cold winter nights! Not to mention catch&release fishing, corn hole, tetherball, volleyball, building a bonfire, or grilling out! Ask about our homegrown ground beef!

The space
All of the recreational amenities are visible from the house and furnished deck. You may find the sporting equipment and chairs for the fire pit conveniently located in the storage room on the main level just past the steps leading to the apartment. Firewood is stacked near the burn pit for your convenience.

The living area, and each bedroom are individually climate controlled for your comfort.

Guest access
Waters Edge Racing Stables boast of the 2 Bedroom home above the former stables. Incredible views in all directions including the 1.5 acre stocked pond. Two flights of steps lead you to the entry door with a lit key pad for your convenience. Please park on the dedicated gravel drive directly in front of the steps leading to the apartment. Do not park on or block the driveway leading to the back of the barn or behind the barn.

My personal residence is located on the same 20 acre property so it is very likely you may see me, but if not, I will always be available by phone or text.

The host was amazing and very informative with super fast responses and easy to work with! The only thing that kept us from 5 stars was the TV in the main living room was very small, the floor was very squeaky as was the shower floor, and the water pressure in the shower was a bit weak. Outaide of that the facilities were amazing, kitchen was spacious, loved the 2 bedrooms and the covered deck was great! Firepit located by the pond was cool and they supplied some wood too. Great overall experience, highly recommend for country style open space landscape! Oh and they had a horse on property that was friendly enough to pet over the electric fence! We named him Ross Browner lol. Thanks for a great weekend!

So I'm going to be honest here, I kind of want to gate keep this one. lol Everything in the listing is as 100% as described (or better) Barndominium w/2BR, 1Bath, LR, full kitchen (minus dishwasher), Washer, Dryer, deck, fire pit by the pond. The host is kind enough to provide folding chairs and wood for the fire pit, so be sure to enjoy an evening by the fire! When I first pulled in I thought that this was going to be one of the uncomfortable places where the rental was in the backyard and the host would be visible and underfoot for the entire stay. Boy was I wrong. If I didn't KNOW the host was on property, I would never had known. There's quite literally a barn between the hosts home and the rental property so it's quite private. The place is immaculate. Wood floors, nice comfy beds, HOT water (be careful, it'll surprise you) the works. I only had one complaint, and quite frankly given the privacy due to it's location, it's probably a quibble. There's no curtains in the front living room/kitchen windows. This feels odd when you realize that at with the lights on, everything is on full display. But... in the mornings it leads to AMAZING sunrises so make sure to get up early at least once to enjoy! Oh, and make sure to go say good morning to George (I've no idea what his name ACTUALLY is, but it's what we took to calling the horse that's on the property) The best thing I can say about the property is to ask the question "Will we stay here again?" Oh yes 100%

This is an amazing place. It's secluded and quiet. It's still close to shopping and a casino. Excellently priced for all the accommodations and amenities you receive. Hats off to the host.

Relaxing Snowy Scenic Stay

We had a 3 hour drive through a snow storm but were very happy to get to Waters Edge and take a minute to breathe. It was a beautiful snowy scene looking out over the pond and seeing the horse buck & gallop about. Beds were incredibly comfy & sheets were very soft! Home was clean and welcoming. Easy entry instructions. We really enjoyed our quick stay and would definitely love to stay here in the summer months. Thank you for the simple touches of snack bars, water & pop in the fridge. Floors are pretty creaky and loud throughout the home but that didnt bother us.

Great peaceful getaway!

We came in for a wedding and had a great time relaxing in the countryside in the downtime. My boy found a frog and became friends with the horse. Nice and easy.

Alicia has been a lifelong Hoosier and Fairland native. She grew up on a small farm only 1/2 mile from Waters Edge, with fond memories of walking to the neighbors to fish in the very pond you will watch the sun rise over. Alicia purchased the property in 2009, moved into the residential home and built Waters Edge Racing Stable in 2013.

Alicia works fulltime as a residential redeveloper and managing broker of HIGH BARR Real Estate. Alicia loves her work both on and off the farm, enjoys the peace and serenity found at Waters Edge, family time, bonfires, trying new restaurants, live music, and traveling. Her greatest joys are found in serving and giving.

Situated on the west end of the 20 acre property, it is encompassed by corn fields, hay fields, animal paddocks, and a beautiful 1.5 acre stocked pond for your enjoyment of catch and release fishing! With no shortage of activities, you can catch a game of tetherball, volleyball, cornhole or relax by the campfire and listen to nature sing. Prefer the indoors? This warm, welcoming, rustic home includes a wood pellet stove for your pleasure and where I come from on a cold winter night, this is the definition of R&R!

I love the views from Waters Edge, especially watching the sunrise over the pond! I also love to sit out on the deck or down by the campfire and listen to nature sing. Although you are only 5 minutes from the I74 ramp and can even catch a glimpse of the interstate, this setting will make you feel like you have found your home away from home. From the distressed hickory floors, to the real wood trim and doors, and all the rustic decor, sweet dreams are inevitable!
