Outstanding property with great lake access. Well maintained boat dock. Home is well designed for a perfect lake experience including a game room, ‘Board Room’ for storing lake accessories, outdoor fire pit, outdoor gas grills and a very good air conditioning system.

Great location on the lake and the house is well thought out for families with adults up and children downstairs. Big kitchen and large deck for watching the lake activities. Nice boat slip dock area with covered seating space. Owner is excellent with communication.

Great place and owner, perfect for a week on the lake especially if you love to boat! Took 8 teenagers and my 85yr old mother w me for a week at the lake and had a blast, house is open, bright and well maintained. Enough extras to keep them busy with a game room downstairs and game closet for the evenings and time spent inside. This is our 5th year coming to Lake Anna and finally found a place for a repeat visit next summer!

Perfect!

The house and property were exactly what we were looking for. The lake access and set up on the dock was great. The house is huge, we had plenty of room to spread out as needed. Even the neighbors were very nice. Chris is super nice and extremely attentive and generous. Our group has been going to lake Anna for the last 5-6 years and this is by far the best place we have stayed! We will definitely be back!

Peaceful and Comfortable Stay!

I had a wonderful experience staying at this home. Everything was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described in the listing. Relaxing Getaway

We have been going to Lake Anna the past 3 years for New Year's and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Weekend at Bernie's. There was enough space for our two families and plenty of room for everyone to play or relax. The home is clean and the outdoor space is also lovely. We hope to be back soon!

Awesome place in a beautiful location

A group of us who all went to grad school together stayed here and it was just perfect! The house has everything you could possibly need when it comes to cooking/eating/drinking. It is extremely spacious and well-kept. Our host Chris was extremely helpful, kind and very easy to communicate with. I would absolutely recommend staying here if you are looking into something in the area.

Perfect family getaway

We were amazed by this spacious home. The owner was very friendly and informative, answering all questions about the property and area. We enjoyed coffee on the deck every morning overlooking Lake Anna, boating, swimming and plenty dining nearby. So many beautiful memories made.

4 Days on the Lake

Really enjoyed the Weekend at Bernie's property. House was perfect for our group, newly redone, great space for cooking, eating, card playing both indoors and out. Swimming dock was great, spent a lot of time down by the water. One of the best places we have rented on Lake Anna and we go every year.

Great weekend on the lake

Location on the lake is ideal. My family had a blast Swimming and fishing off the dock. There's a separate boat slip if you rent a boat. House had everything you need and plenty of space. And the host is friendly and responsive.

Family Engagement Celebration

We all had a great weekend staying at this very, very nice property! It was so clean and organized when we arrived. It was much more spacious than we were expecting - both inside and out! All the rooms were very large and nicely furnished, plus lots of good quality towels and sheets! The host has been so responsive and helpful. We can highly recommend this property.

Spacious and beautiful spot on the lake

The house is fantastic and had plenty of room for our group of 3 couples plus an infant. It is well-equipped with basics, including plenty of pots and pans and spices so cooking was no problem. There are enough wineries, breweries and restaurants in the area as well. It's a great spot for a relaxing getaway and is worth it just for the lake view alone!

Lake Life

Really enjoyable weekend at Lake Anna. The house has a spectacular view and direct access to the lake. We had friends in from California, NYC, D.C. and Charlotte to celebrate an upcoming wedding. Interior is spacious and simple, great for a larger group. Chris was responsive to inquiries. We even got to hear live music from across the lake. A successful trip.

Great stay once again!

This was our second time staying at the property and it didn’t disappoint. Everything was clean and well stocked and the lake access was perfect for the kids. Keep in mind that walking back up hill to the house at the end of the day can be tricky for people with mobility issues.

Celebrating 75

We had a wonderful three days celebrating mom’s 75th birthday. The lake house was a great place for our family to gather. We loved the property, especially the large open area with the gorgeous view of the lake. The game room was an added bonus. We also enjoyed the dock and the covered seating area. Another idyllic year on the water.

We look forward to our visit to Chris's place every year. Even when the weather is a little questionable, as it was this year, it is the perfect place to relax and take in gorgeous lake views. When the weather cooperates, it's the perfect place to collapse and rest after a full day on the water. We've already booked our get away for next year!

This home is one of the original homes on Lake Anna. My parents bought this beautiful property in 1976. I was 8 years old. They built a little cottage that we used on weekends as a getaway from the hustle and bustle of Northern Virginia. We didn't have TV. We didn't have phones. It was more like camping really.
In the year 2000 my parents moved to the lake full time and did a major renovation. They quite literally built out in all four directions - towards the water, towards the street and on both sides. The result is an unbelievably spacious, unique home, ideal for multi-family vacations. Three bedrooms and three bathrooms upstairs. Huge great room and kitchen with eat-in dining room connecting the two, overlooking the water. Basement with a queen bedroom, a bunk room, a full bathroom and a kitchenette. Massive deck that overlooks the water with ample space to spread out. And a game room and kids hang-out room.
My father - Bernie - passed on Pearl Harbor Day in Dec 2017, which is very symbolic to us, as he had a 32 year career with the navy and our parents met in Hawaii in 1967. In 2020 we decided to turn our home into a place that we could share with others. So we did another major renovation and had our first guests in July of 2020 - during a pandemic, of course. But the response has been overwhelming. Everyone just loves the home, the space, the views and the amenities. We welcome you to go to Facebook and search for Weekend at Bernies, Lake Anna. We work very hard to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing. We are always seeking feedback and want to provide the best possible experience. When you're on vacation, you don't want to have to worry about anything related to the home or the amenities. So we go out of our way to make sure the home is clean, organized, well equipped and stocked with well maintained, nice amenities.
