Have you daydreamed of having a place to get away, relax; a cabin in the woods, on a lake? A place that is ready for you anytime; where all you need to do is pack a few essentials and take off. If so, Poplar Ridge just may be that place for you.
Poplar Ridge Hideaway is 20 wooded acres that includes a 6 acre lake located in the heart of Southern Indiana's finest outdoor recreation region. Poplar Ridge is midway between Jasonville and Linton Indiana. One of many unique features of Poplar Ridge is, though quiet, private and secluded, the property is literally only 15 minutes from all essential shopping and services. At the same time, Shakamak State Park is 9 miles west, Redbird State Recreational area is 10 minutes south, Goose Pond Wildlife Refuge is 14 miles southwest and Green-Sullivan State Forest is 5 miles southwest of Poplar Ridge.
You may not feel the need to explore much beyond Poplar Ridge. The cabin sits on a beautiful 6 acre lake that has developed a reputation in the region for it's great fishing. The hiking trails lead you through a mature forest of lovely hardwoods. The oaks, poplars, maple, and chestnuts are exceptionally gorgeous in the Fall.
Poplar Ridge is one of those secluded hideaways that are becoming increasingly rare. This is a place where you can stretch out on the deck and listen to the Whippoorwills, Bobwhites, Woodpeckers, and Cicadas. Let your mind wander as you listen to the mournful wail of locomotives making their way across southern Indiana. No need for soothing sounds machines to lull you to sleep here.
The region is teeming with wildlife. As you are having coffee on the deck or enjoying an after dinner drink on the back porch, you may see deer, wild turkey, beaver, cranes and muskrats. You may even hear hoot owls and coyotes. This really is a wildlife wonderland.
Having traveled a fair amount ourselves, we understand the importance of being treated as valued guests. Our goal at Poplar Ridge Hideaway is to treat our guests as we would want to be treated and to provide them with a lodging experience that is both pleasant and memorable.
ACCOMODATIONS:
- Cabin: 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. Sleeps 8. Native American Indian room has a queen sized bed with an attached master bath and full sized washer and dryer. The Cowboy Bunkroom sleeps 4 with 1 set of bunk beds and a trundle bed. The Cowboy bathroom is located adjacent to the Bunkroom. There is a queen size pull-out sofa bed in the Great room. All bedrooms have Avia mattresses.
-Kitchen: Fully stocked with cookware and utensils. Silverware and place settings for 8. Microwave, coffee maker, electric stove, full sized refrigerator, toaster, dish towels. We will supply starter dish soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
-The Cabin is heated and cooled by a Senville Leto Eco system wall unit. Additionally, there are wood pellet stoves in the Lake room and Great room.
-Coming in 2021 we will have a kennel to house hunting dogs.
-Bath: Towels, hand towels, wash clothes are supplied. 1 hairdryer in each bathroom. Guest will need to supply their own toiletries.
-Poplar Ridge is pet friendly (dogs only, no cats). Maximum of 2 dogs. There is an additional charge for pets and an understanding that pet owners will clean up after pets and refrain from leaving pets unattended. We ask kindly to not allow pets on furniture.
-Poplar Ridge is not equipped with either satellite or cable television. However, a flat screen TV in the Great room is equipped with a DVD player.

-Groundskeeping and maintenance personnel are on call 24/7.
