Secluded under a canopy of live oaks, OAKS is your perfect getaway with easy access to Bald Head Island’s quiet South beach. When there’s surf, you’ll hear the waves rolling in as you sit on the deck.

Comfortable 4 + bedroom 3 1/2 bath home in the maritime forest with lots of open space for gathering, walls of windows for bird watching through the trees and lagoon views with the golf course in the distance. You’ll feel tucked away, one with nature; a part of the true essence and beauty of Bald Head Island. Enjoy our family games and puzzles or curl up window-side with a good read. 

There’s ample desk space and good wifi in case you and your family are making it a work and school home away from home. End your day with a relaxing stroll along the beach and enjoy the beautiful sunsets!!!

Home offers over 2900 square feet on three levels with 4 + bedrooms, 3 zones of new A/C to spread out comfortably and enjoy.

The upper level suite is all yours! The bedroom has a king size bed and private balcony. There is a large private sitting area with desk and a sky-lit bathroom with large shower and double sink.

Main level floor has walls of windows with open living room/ dining room/ kitchen/ sitting area offering lovely views from every angle. The kitchen comes well equipped with new Subzero fridge, gas stove, mixers, crock pot, magic bulet blender, drip coffee/tea combo maker, Nespresso. (Nespresso takes Vertuoline pods). There are two bedrooms tucked away from the living/dining space on this level (each with queen sized bed) that share a jack-and-jill full bathroom. There is also a 1/2 bath with washer/dryer. This main level has a large deck with Weber gas grill and plenty of outdoor seating.

On the ground floor, the 4th bedroom (queen sized bed) has a sliding glass door with private porch/sitting area. The other lower level room has twin bunk beds (low for safety with small children). There is also a full bath on this level.

House rental includes our (2) four passenger golf carts, 6 beach bikes and two child's bikes. There are also boogie boards, beach chairs, beach towels and children's toys for beach entertainment. There is an outside shower for rinsing after a day in the sand and surf.

The home is centrally located with only a short 5 minute bike or golf cart ride to the beach or market and shops. This is a quality custom built Tellus architectural contemporary home. Wood / tile floors and windows throughout make it ideal for beach living.

Our home rents from Sunday 4pm to Sunday 10am during the summer season. Flexible other times of the year.
We have a golf membership to the Bald Head Island Club so that our guests can purchase an optional temporary membership for your stay. This provides access to the golf course, BHI club pools, playground, tennis, croquet, fitness center and club restaurants for dining. BHICLUB.NET/GUEST-MEMBERSHIP-REGISTRATION-ONLINE to obtain your BHI club pass.

Great location, better amenities!

We stayed here for a week for the 4th of July and it was amazing! The check in process was very easy and the owner was communicative about the process. The property was beautiful and clean with a lot of space. We really liked the board games and played a fair amount of clue. 10/10 would stay here again.

Amazing house!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house was one of the cleanest houses we have ever rented on VRBO. The property manager was very communicative and the entire process of checkin and out was seamless and easy.

Loved this house!

We stay on bald head every year on or around Edward Teach and I think this was our favorite house. Lots of bikes, good space for a couple families, overall great stay!

We had a great week at Oaks! Lisa was super responsive to our needs, and the house was stocked with everything we needed for our stay! 2nd fridge/freezer in the garage is a definite added plus for large groups.

Nestled in the Oaks

We loved our stay in this centrally located home surrounded by beautiful oak trees. It is close to everything. The house is comfortable with a well-appointed kitchen. It’s clear the owners have thought about what makes a good home for elderly, kids, and dogs.

House in BH forest

We spent a lovely week here early Oct with friends and our 2 dogs. There was plenty of space, really nice views surrounded by gorgeous live oaks, and a great deck. The living room allowed us to spread out - a table for doing a jigsaw puzzle and comfortable area to read or watch tv. We loved riding the bikes provided each day, the beach chairs were great to have, and the club facilities were wonderful for pickleball and dinner out. Hosts responded quickly to inquiries before and during our stay. All together made for a memorable time.

The Perfect Home Nestled in the Forest

Twin Oaks is jewel for many reasons. My husband and vacationed with my niece and her family and the open floor plan on the main level was perfect for our family. The bedrooms and baths are all perfectly appointed and the kitchen was the best equipped and stocked one we have ever had. The outdoor deck, overlooking the pond, was a delight in the evenings as the frogs entertained us with their sounds. The location is perfect for making quick, easy trips to South Beach where we enjoyed the ocean. Our hosts, Sharon and Jim were very attentive and wonderful to work with as we planned our trip. We'll look forward to a return trip.

Beautiful Baldhead

We had a great time on our latest trip to BHI. The most stunning thing about this house are the huge windows that showcase the live oak trees in the yard. The main floor of the house is perfect for family meals and gathering and we loved the open concept so kids could be watched while we we were cooking etc. When we arrived and took off our shoes the floor was quite sandy--- more so that it should have been on Day 1 and we contacted the owner who promptly took care of it by sending a huge crew of cleaners over who were terrific and triple cleaned the floors. The owner was really communicative and super nice to work with. The only other bad thing was that the dryer was broken when we arrived. This was truly super challenging when you are at the beach with kids and we found ourselves hanging towels and clothes all over the porch---the owner sent someone over to check on it right away but island life being as it is---it was more than halfway through our trip before it actually got repaired. She did try---it was just hard for us to deal with and not something you want to do on vacation. The top floor where my husband and I stayed is huge. It features a couple of nice sitting areas that our grandkids loved for legos etc. This is a GREAT house for little kids with lots of toys and games and puzzles and books. The basement floor bedrooms are super small but we made it work. The kitchen has lots of nice appliances and there were lots of nice touches. We had fun!

Lovely location and family friendly house!

Great central location and our hosts were very helpful and responsive. The only reason I didn't give all stars for cleanliness was that there were a few dead bugs around esp. on basement level. Otherwise it was spotless. Toys, books and games were plentiful and the kids aged 3 & 6 loved these! Kitchen very well stoked with all you need!

Great house for a large group with kids

Our group of 9 adults and 2 kids (age 2 and infant) really enjoyed our stay here! The house is centrally located near the market/shops/restaurants, and not far from the beach and BHI club. The bedroom set up worked really well for us - we had a few couples, and a few single friends, and a family in our group. The young kids were able to sleep in pack and plays in the sitting area near the master bedroom away from the noise in the rest of the house, and our 2 year old really enjoyed all of the toys (for the house and the beach) that she found there! Note that the house does not have a bathtub - this was fine for us as our 2 year old took showers, and the infant bathed in the sink, but something to think about if you're bringing kids. The house is on the older side, but is accurately pictured/described, and priced accordingly. Communication with the owner was great - she texted back quickly and the check in process was seamless/easy. Note that tram reservations must be made separately when you book (some houses do this as part of the rental process) and you may need to rent an additional golf cart. We rented an extra 6-seater since our group had 9 adults and 2 children (the house has two 4-seater golf carts).

Unique & Fun For All Vacation Experience!

This was our first trip to Bald Head Island and it was by far our most unique vacation experience! Cars were left behind and our only mode of transportation for the week was golf carts and bicycles. We saw an alligator, deer, turtles, herons and so many beautiful things that you can only find in nature. The house was absolutely perfect for 6 adults and 4 children! The owners couldn't have been more accommodating and welcoming. If you like exploring, swimming in pools and the ocean then Bald Head Island is the place for you and staying at this beautiful home puts the icing on the cake!

Very nice house, super owner

We enjoyed our stay at the Oaks. Spacious and nice. It is very well appointed… 8 nice bikes, 2 golf carts, beach towels galore. We had a few glitches, but Lisa the owner was always on it and responsive. We would stay there again.

Lucky to stay at 108 Edward Teach Wynd

We were very lucky to be able to stay at 108 Edward Teach Wynd. Lisa was wonderful to work with, incredibly prompt and attentive. There were 5 adults and 3 children in our party, and the space was perfect. One of our adults had to work remotely and the work space upstairs and internet connection couldn't have been better. The kitchen was well stocked and the golf carts took us everywhere we wanted to go. If we ever make it back, we would definitely stay here again.

Central Island Sanctuary

108 Edward Teach Wynd is a well-appointed, beutifully laid out home with relaxing views of the central island forests and the golf course and a pond. The owners really provided everything we needed to know to maximize our stay. Communication with them was delightful and easy. The flora and fauna around the home are worth exploring on their own before or while you journey out across the island. The new golf cart is swanky and was a pelasant perq. And the well maintained and abundant bicycles provided a healthy way to enjoy the island.

Spacious, well equipped house in the beautiful setting of oak trees, pond view, short ride to beach

A spacious house, great gathering spaces indoors and outdoors, view of beautiful old oak trees and a pond, feels like staying in a tree house. Well equipped kitchen has everything for a large group. Short ride or walk to South beach and full grocery store. Lisa is a responsive and pleasant owner, everything went flawlessly.

Beautiful home in quiet location

My family of 5 —plus standard poodle— visited BHI for the first time (for 4 nights) and this was the perfect location. We were so lucky to have this house, and these owners, for our first experience there. The bedrooms were comfortable and very nicely decorated and we were definitely grateful for the 3 full baths. We loved the 2 screen porches — especially the hammock (since it rained a good bit). There was also one outside, which was a nice touch. It was a real luxury to have use of the kayaks at the landing, and the 6-seater golf cart seemed brand new. We did have an issue with the 4-seater keeping its charge, but since we used the 6-seater almost the whole time, we were OK, and I did inform Sharon of this as soon as we discovered the problem on the next-to-last day, so hopefully that will be fixed. I wish we’d had a chance to take the bikes out — i really feel like we never got to enjoy everything this house has to offer, so definitely need to come back in warmer weather! The house was close to everything, and I couldn’t believe we could actually hear the ocean even from blocks away. We signed up for the daily market news as Sharon suggested and were able to go to a soup tasting event at the market. We also had dinner (and ice cream) out one night, but otherwise, we had everything we needed at the house. In our hurry to leave, I left a small bag of jewelry, and Sharon immediately contacted the cleaners to look for it when they went — and she mailed it back to me right away. I was so grateful!! We would absolutely come back again and recommend it to our friends!
