True and complete oceanfront condo with a lanai (balcony) that almost hangs over the beach. See the ponds below where the turtle and the eels want to come and feed. Let the sounds of the sea make you sleep after a day of sightseeing or relaxation. Both the bedroom and living room face the sea, where you can see dolphins all year round and whales in season.

Condo has a new island taste in design and comfort.

Hale Kona Kai is an intimate, absolute oceanfront complex of 39 one-bedroom condominiums. Located at the edge of Kona Town, it is off the main road providing for quiet, ocean-view relaxation from every unit. Located just south of Royal Kona Resort, excellent dining at Don the Beachcomber and other restaurants are a bit further into Kona Town. You will find the white sand of Honl's Beach less than a quarter-mile to the south and the Kona Farmer's Market just a half-mile to the north.

The complex offers an elevator that provides convenient access for all. On the ocean side, you'll find a heated saltwater swimming pool and a grill on the south end of the complex. Each floor has coin-operated washers and dryers for your use. Each condo does not have its own washer/dryer.

Each unit includes designated parking, safe WIFI, & cable TV. Both units, like Lanais, are non-smoking and Hale Kona Kai is non-smoking.

We’ve stayed at this condo several times during our yearly visit to the Big Island. Perfect location—easy walk to restaurants. So convenient to have dedicated parking place. But what really keeps us coming back is the ocean front lanai. Also wonderful that bedroom also oceanfront so we can sleep with soothing sound of crashing waves. The management team is also very responsive and helpful.

Terrific location and on site property manager. Had everything we needed. Very responsive to a few minor issues we had. Only drawback was it’s a little dated but the location offset that to a certain degree.

Sunny and Relaxing

We loved hearing the ocean waves from the condo and seeing the colorful fish and a few sea turtles in the water below. It was great to be close to great restaurants, coffee and shopping, and we found some great beaches 30 min or less in both directions. A great location!

Ocean front, it should say Ocean edge. Just incredible.

The best view in the area, ocean edge views and sunsets, just made our stay perfect, also dedicated parking sure makes it easier when you return late.

Oceanfront oasis

This is our fourth visit to this property. My husband and I love the oceanfront lanai and that the bedroom also is on the ocean side so we can hear the ocean all night with the window open. Very conveniently located to walk to restaurants and stores in Kona. The assigned parking space at the property is also ideal for us. Looking forward to our next visit!

Right on the water, great location.

You look out over the lanai and directly below is the surf. The lanai is also perfect for watching sunsets. Great walking location to restaurants and farmers market. Parking location is very convenient.

We enjoyed our visit very much. The condo we stayed in was nice. Waking up to a view of the ocean everyday just can't be beat! This is an older property, but it is well maintained and I will definitely choose to stay here again.

PRO: Couldn’t get more “ocean front”. A short walk into Kona town. CON: Needs some love. Shower door wouldn’t move, which according to previous reviews was reported as an issue 6 months prior. There was a strong smell of chemical bug spray.
