We stayed seven days at the Shimmering waters at the Lagoons it was exactly as pictured the views were awesome enjoying the beautiful sunrise from the master bedroom balcony. The staff was attentive &the food was delicious. We loved the pool.& the floating breakfast. The only downside was we weren't able to wash our own clothes although the staff did take care of it for us. Would definitely stay again when visiting Jamaica

Lovely stay with the best host and chef

Beautiful location! We loved our stay at the shimmering watas and were truly sad to leave this house. Pool was perfect and the housekeeping staff left it spotless for when we arrived. Host was super attentive and communicative pre-arrival. Best part was the Chef who cooked the best meals we had during the trip for our group of three couples. They went above and beyond on all our requests and made our trip all the more memorable. Thank you!

10/10 Absolutely Incredible Stay!

Mr Ralph was an amazing host! Our flight got canceled due to the Heathrow chaos and he was so patient and kind, making sure we could reschedule. The villa is absolutely stunning and the staff made our trip unforgettable.The chefs spoiled us with incredible Jamaican food, and they went all out for my mum’s birthday….decorations, a floating breakfast, the works! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing stay at Shimmering Waters in Montego Bay. The location is perfect—just 10 minutes from the airport, but tucked inside a quiet, safe, gated community. The home is spacious with plenty of room for adults and kids to relax, but the real highlight was the outdoor area and pool, where we spent most of our time.Mr. Ralph, the owner, was fantastic—super responsive, helpful before and during the trip, and clearly cares about his guests having a great experience. Our driver and guide for the week, Mr. Blake, was equally amazing—knowledgeable, laid-back, punctual, and genuinely kind. He gave us great recommendations but also adapted to our plans. A true pro.We loved our beach day at Doctor’s Cave (great chairs, drinks, and food), had an awesome fishing/snorkeling trip with the Just Hook It crew, and made a market stop to grab red snapper and prawns—Chef Derlisha turned them into a fantastic dinner. We also had incredible meals at Peppa’s, Marguerites, and The Sugar Mill.We’ve been to other parts of Jamaica, but this experience stood out. Beautiful home, great people, and unforgettable memories. We’ll definitely be back. Thanks for a wonderful vacation!

Amazing Property & Fantastic Host

The property was just as advertised and the location was perfect! Ralph and his team were wonderful hosts! We loved chef Merritt & appreciated Mr Baker’s team’s care in getting us around the area. The house was beautiful and the pool was perfect! We will definitely stay again!

Unforgettable stay

"Fantastic stay in Montego Bay! The villa was beautifully appointed with breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea. The location was perfect for exploring nearby beaches and attractions. The host was incredibly accommodating and ensured we had everything we needed for a memorable vacation. 5-Star Stay at Shimmering Waters – A Slice of Paradise in Jamaica!

Shimmering Waters was absolutely beautiful, and our stay was unforgettable. Mr. Ralph was a top-tier host attentive, responsive, and kind. Any time I called, he called back right away. He and his staff made sure we were well taken care of from the moment we arrived until we left.The floating breakfast each morning was a lovely touch and such a unique experience. We especially enjoyed spending time with Ms. Amera and Ms. Derlisha. Now let me tell you baby, Ms. Derlisha throws down in the kitchen! She was so accommodating and willing to cook whatever we wanted. Her fried chicken was cooked to golden brown perfection, and those pancakes? Fluffy like clouds! She even made us some curry chicken one day for lunch and it was beyond delicious.The cleaning staff was also great polite, thorough, and consistent. For full transparency, don’t leave anything sweet out on the counters because it might attract ants (this is tropical Jamaica, after all), but as soon as we noticed it, Mr. Ralph and his team addressed it right away.He also kept the pool crystal clear, and he even took the time to clean the air filters for me since I suffer from allergies. Baby, after that cleanse, the air was pumping and I could breathe with no issues at all!If I had to suggest anything, it would be to add a little more lighting in the rooms but honestly, that’s minor compared to the amazing service and overall experience.Mr. Ralph is exceptional at what he does, and I would absolutely stay here again

Amazing!!

We had so much fun staying here and Ralph was such a gracious host. From pickup at the airport to staff greeting us at checkin, everyone was great. Please book Chef Merrick! He was such a pleasure and his food was better than all of the restaurants we tried. Ralph was reachable via text and phone when we had an issue with power and accommodated us to get out of the home until it was fixed. Overall just great people and a great home!

Perfect stay

Ralph communication was amazing through out the entire process , the property was as beautiful as the pictures I couldn't get over the view . It was safe . The entire Staff was like family literally I enjoyed every minute . Mr Baker being a driver is a understatement he's a security guard , tour guide , driver and friend . My stay was nothing short of amazing . I utilized the chef , driver , massage service and everyone service and communication was immaculate . I wish I would have stayed longer I loved it .

Stay at Shimmering Waters

We stayed at Shimmering Waters for four nights at the end of October. We were picked up in Kingston by Bakerdon and driven up to Montego Bay (via Dunn’s River). Cannot stress enough how warm a welcome we received from Baker and how helpful he was throughout our stay. Any day trips we wanted to take, Baker was happy to guide and oblige. The house is absolutely beautiful, everything worked and we wanted for nothing. There are some lovely restaurants within walking distance. Any queries we had were instantly responded to by the owner Ralph, who was fantastic. A delicious breakfast was prepared daily by Chef Royal. There was another chef available for lunch and dinner if we had needed. Nisha, our housekeeper kept the house spotless and had our washing cleaned, dried and folded in a flash! We absolutely loved it and would recommend it highly to anyone. A fantastic stay in a beautiful country full of amazing people. One Love!

This place was absolutely beautiful in every way… we stayed as a party of 6 comfortable with plenty of space. The communication with all members of Shimmering waters, to include Mr. Ralph, the chef, the drivers, and the housekeeper was continuous and free flowing to ensure all our needs and wants were met, Mr. Baker (The driver) picked us up from the airport as schedule and was very friendly, he and his team, Mr. Blake was very flexible in accommodating our schedules, all amenities were as advertise, most importantly for us we found the location and scenery out of this world, especially the poolside views experience. I would rate the overall experience at Shimmering waters above 10 if I could. On my next trip to Jamaica, I will definitely be staying there.

New Year’s Paradise

Shimmering Waters is exactly as advertised and the perfect relaxing getaway for my family to ring in the New Year. We loved the daily breakfasts prepared by Miss Amera the cook and had her come back for dinner to cook the red snapper we caught on our fishing trip! Sir Baker was a great driver and tour guide. He arranged fun excursions and got us everywhere safely.The star our of trip was really the house. We enjoyed spending quality time together as a family and quiet evenings in. There is even a great little gym across the street with beautiful water views that my husband and two teen boys liked going to for workouts. The sunrises are so beautiful and best enjoyed with coffee on the primary bedroom balcony. We were also treated to some NYE fireworks that could be viewed from balcony. The pool is not heated but made for a refreshing dip. The local beaches had beautiful white sand and warmer crystal blue water. The host Mr. Ralph was a great communicator and available to answer any questions from booking to checkout. 10/10 would recommend this house!

Beautiful house and view!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful house with stunning views and a gorgeous pool. From the moment we booked, Ralph, the host, was incredibly responsive and helpful, answering all our questions promptly. He ensured everything was perfect for our stay, both before and during our trip. Our driver, Sir Baker, was equally amazing. He was always on time, extremely courteous, and went out of his way to make our transportation smooth and stress-free. The chef, Miguel, prepared delicious meals that we thoroughly enjoyed, adding a special touch to our holiday experience. The cleaning staff also did an excellent job, maintaining the house in pristine condition throughout our stay. Overall, me and my family had a fantastic time and I would highly recommend this place to all my friends and family.

Paradise in the Lagoons

This Villa is by far exceeded our expectations. The pictures are exactly as advertised. I know now how this villa got it’s name Shimmering Waters. We literally loved everything about this place including having Chef Merrick and Housekeeper Tanesha. Every meal was delicious and the presentation of the meal was so nice. You can tell that Merrick loves his craft .Ralph the owner of the villa was always very attentive to our needs readily available to answer any questions we had. Ralph you truly have an amazing place! We definitely will be back!!!

Beautiful house w/ great amenities

Both the house and everything that comes with it are amazing. Home itself is spacious, perfectly kept and the pool area is every bit as beautiful as the pictures suggest. Communication with the host was fantastic. Maybe most important, you should consider using the driver and chef service. Mr. Baker (driver) was the friendliest person you’ll meet and indispensable for getting around and finding good spots. I don’t know how we would’ve managed without him. Chef Merrick and Chef Royal prepared absolutely incredible meals, for a price comparable to restaurants. Again, both are extremely friendly and accommodating. Fantastic visit all around.

Fantastic Experience

We stayed as a family of four (2 adults and 2 children), for a little over five weeks. The house is truly amazing with lots of space, light and a great pool. Staying in a beautiful home in Jamaica isn’t unique, but what is unique is the level of care and detail Ralph and the team take to ensure your stay is a five-star experience. Ralph has an extended optional team of a chef, a driver and a massage therapist. Although we didn’t use the car or therapist service, chef Merrick was great, preparing breakfast and dinner for us 3 or 4 times per week. The property is well maintained with the fantastic housekeeper, Tanisha, overseeing the gardener and the pool cleaner. The local area is safe, but the house being located in a gated community gives an extra level of security, which is nice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to return!

Unforgettable Stay in Paradise !

Our stay in Jamaica was nothing short of extraordinary! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by Miss Nisha with warm hospitality and the perfect blend of luxury and relaxation. The property was immaculate, offering breathtaking views of the lush landscape and sparkling Caribbean waters. The accommodations were exactly as described (if not better!)—spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated with authentic Jamaican touches. Every amenity we could have asked for was thoughtfully provided, from a well-equipped kitchen to plush linens and beach essentials. The outdoor space was a true highlight, featuring a private pool, a cozy patio for morning breakfast and Dinner by Amera , that made us never want to leave. Our tour guide Mr. Baker went above and beyond to make us feel at home, offering excellent recommendations for local attractions, restaurants, and hidden gems we’d have never found on our own. They even arranged a private chef for one evening—an unforgettable experience filled with fresh, local flavors. The location was ideal—just a short drive from stunning beaches, vibrant markets, and cultural sites. Yet, the property itself was so peaceful and secluded that it felt like our own little slice of paradise. We left feeling rejuvenated, grateful, and already planning our return. Bachelorette weekend

I booked this villa for my best friend’s bachelorette weekend, there was a total of six of us. I cannot stress how wonderful everything was, including the team. To start off Ralph, the owner, was very thorough and diligent when it came to the check in process and communicating all the information that I needed. You can make your stay as inclusive as you’d like. They offer an array of add ons from massages to a personal chef. All the work is done for you, which is exactly what you want when you’re on vacation. Mrs. Dorothy made sure we had everything we needed and the Villa was spotless. Mr. Baker was our trusted driver/ bodyguard. I would 100% recommend using the driver for anything in the area, taxis are very expensive otherwise. He was able to pick us up from the airport, which saved us a lot of time. The house was very spacious with a beautiful master bedroom. The pool area and the view were stunning. 10/10

I had the pleasure of staying at Shimmering Waters on my recent jamaica trip, and I can't say enough about the exceptional experience I had. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this place was meticulously maintained. The excellent housekeeping was evident in every corner of the property, ensuring a pristine and inviting atmosphere. The gated community (the Lagoons) is quite and beautiful. The security does not play and is very attentive and strict with who can enter and exit, yet welcoming and friendly. They take pride in there job I must give a special shoutout to the wonderful staff member, Dorothy, who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and hassle-free. Her warm hospitality and attentiveness were truly remarkable. Transportation was a breeze thanks to the great Mr. Baker, making it convenient to explore the area. He ensured we were safe and comfortable everywhere we went. His knowledge and pride of his country try is evident and professionalism is too notch. The owner and host of Shimmering Waters deserve all the praise as well. His dedication to ensuring clear communication and a flawless stay was evident throughout my visit. The amenities provided were top-notch, making my stay even more enjoyable. The cleanliness, serenity, and safety of the location added to the overall satisfaction of my stay. Shimmering Waters is a hidden gem, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for an impeccable and delightful stay.

Absolutely Fantastic!

Another reviewer said it best – “if you are looking for a property, don’t delay select this one now!” They were right. This property is well maintained, very clean, and the views are amazing! Additionally, as we were celebrating a monumental birthday for my significant other with our 14 year old, I was looking for a place that was spacious, near the water, with great views and had a pool. Shimmering Waters checked each box and continued to exceed expectations from the moment I made the reservation. The host – Ralph – was very attentive and I must say that meant a great deal to me as I’m known for my attention to detail which can drive some a little crazy! Ralph took it all in stride and actually matched my level of detail, many times surpassing my expectations with every response. We also utilized service providers that were recommended by Ralph which included a driver, a chef, and a person to take us out on the water. I must say each person we engaged with and the resulting experience was absolutely wonderful. Even the persons who managed the home looked after our every need and were overly kind. I have nothing but wonderful commentary about the home, the host and the Shimmering Water’s team. We will always return to Ralph’s property when we visit Jamaica. As they said when we arrived, Welcome Home and when we left – until we meet again! Until we meet again Shimmering Waters Team!

Incredible property and service

If beauty, safety and cleanliness are important to you then you need look no further for ‘the best’ VRBO Caribbean property. If you can peel yourself away from the serene private pool area with lovely landscaping, there is a lap pool and 2 nice tennis courts steps away in this small gated community. The house has air throughout so comfortable to come in from the heat if needed (which was for these northerners!). Each room has hand sanitizing stations and every room was spotless and well provided. The owner went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, even stocking the fridge as he knew stores would be closing early due to Covid the day we arrived! He also made himself available the entire time for questions and recommended an incredible driver that took care of us all week (Bronstein Baker). One daughter had to attend some college courses and the Wi-Fi was measured at 160 Mb/s so all cell phones and laptops were easily supported on the new wireless internet. The master suite is palatial and all beds appeared new and super comfortable (no sore back!). The moon rise above the lagoon was worth the price of admission alone. The kitchen was very modern with a 6 burner gas cook top and we even had an outside grill for cooking as we ate in quite a bit due to Covid. Unlike some other countries, we drank the water right from tap and had no issues. We are already planning our return trip - ya mon!!!

Royal Hospitality!!

We were a family of 5 traveling to Jamaica for the first time. We were very hesitant with the travel warnings and especially because we were with our 2 beautiful daughters. Upon arrival at the airport we met Sir Baker! He is the most charismatic person we have ever met! He was a wealth of knowledge when it came to restaurants, excursions, museums, and the history of Jamaica. No matter where we went on the island "EVERYONE" knew Sir Baker! It was like having your own personal security guard. We felt so safe with him that our daughters got to enjoy some of the nightlife on their own. By the time we left our daughters cried when he said goodbye. Sir Baker definitely made our trip the best ever! The property was so meticulously maintained inside and out. The pictures are exactly as advertised and bigger in person. Our daughters loved the home especially because everyone could have their own space to hang out from the family room with games, to the tennis courts. Mom and dad enjoyed quite tv time in our own master suite with separate sitting room and a beautiful balcony to watch spectacular sunsets! The host- Mr Ralph was very attentive and so responsive no matter what time. He was welcoming and made us feel so special. We celebrated my husband's 60th birthday and Mr Ralph had the house decorated with balloons and a cake, He is super thoughtful. Exceptional hospitality! Miss Mitchelle, and Miss Corieta were also amazing, always made sure we had clean towels and super kind.

All independent, but in close communication engaging our approved service providers rather than those outside of this Team, fosters you better service and security.

I provide housekeeping, yard care and pool care as part of your property rental fee on VRBO. We all work as a team, but more like a family to serve you, for which we take great pleasure!
