Check out this renovated house on the sound side in the Wind Over Waves community. Featuring a pool enclosure with furniture for a premium vacation, you won't forget. You'll find elegant furnishings and top-of-the-line amenities throughout. This grand home features a great view of the sound and is a short walk to the beach, providing you with the best environment to experience the ultimate getaway. The ground floor has plenty of parking, a private pool, and a hot tub. The first level has a wet bar with a full-size refrigerator and a recreation area with a game room with a pool table, an air hockey table, and a foosball table.

Take a deep breath as you make your way to the third level. On this level, you will find a well-appointed kitchen, an executive-style dining set, a breakfast table, a smart TV, and a great room, all carefully and thoughtfully set up to wow everyone in your group.

There are six primary bedrooms plus a pyramid bunk bedroom, all with opulent décor and smart TVs. One en suite bathroom features a jetted tub and a separate shower.

The private pool is open seasonally from 4/26/2025 and closes 10/12/2025. Dates are subject to change.
The pool will open seasonally from 04/01/2026 and close 10/10/2026. Dates are subject to change.
You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 7 vehicles.

Comfortable cottage.

Great place for 9 people

We had a lovely vacation in this home. The game room was awesome giving the kids (age 20-25) lots to keep them busy. (and maybe the arcade machine kept some of the older adults busy as well) the pool was perfection as the weather was hot and sunny! It would be nice if there was some shade offered back there. Eventually the sun goes behind the house and shade comes, but that is later in the day. All the bedrooms on the 2nd and 3rd floor had their on bathrooms, which was amazing! The two bedrooms on the first floor shared a bathroom but there was an additional full bath down there, so you really didn't have to share. I wish it had been closer to the beach with the lifeguards. You could get to the beach by walking down most of the roads, however it would be a little bit of a hike, especially carrying stuff and there would be no lifeguards. Or, you can drive about 8 min to a parking area and get to the beach with two lifeguards on duty (they were the only ones we could see in either direction). We did have a couple issues with the house, but vacasa was quick to respond and send someone out to help. Kudos for that! I do feel the floor could have been cleaner, it was free from obvious dirt, but if you wiped it you would see that it really needed to be scrubbed. Overall it was a great vacation!

Perfect stay for family beach vacation.

Family of 11- beach getaway

Lived the location of the home. Close to bay and a 8 min. walk to the beach. I would Highly recommend that the hot tub be replaced, also concrete around the pool is crumbling. Perks- plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms- Rec area on bottom level was nice. All in all a good stay.

FAMILY of 11 beach Vaca 2025

The house has plenty of rooms/ bathrooms. Pool is very small, and the concrete above pool liner is falling apart, hot tub is very out dated, Jetts barley worked and had issues with the temperature staying "hot". Jacuzzi tub in the master room, jets where water filters through were black, full of scum. Those need flushed! ( we didn not use) Didn't like that they offered only 2 pillows per bed. They had a couple stored in the closets, but looked dirty. * bring your own pillows. Overall, this house is located nicely near bay and beach. I would stay with Vacasa again.

Beautiful Views and Peaceful Location

10/10, the communication is a little wonky but other than that beautiful place and the location is excellent; beach is just a short drive; Check out Leonardo’s Pizza if you stay here (very good pizza).

Husbands birthday trip

We all enjoyed ourselves. There was plenty of room. Originally was supposed to be 13 people but things happened and we ended up having only 7. Everyone enjoyed the pool, hot tub, game room. The room were spacious and clean as were the bathrooms two. Would definitely book again if we need a house that big again.

Plenty of space

3rd time staying here. Group of guys fishing. Plenty of parking. Happy to see the owner replaced the microwave and dishwasher since our last visit. New couches are definitely better than the worn out sectional. Walking to Waves Deli is a plus after a long day fishing. Excellent sandwiches. Can also walk to Dollar General for groceries. Well be back next year.

So disappointed!

Honestly I’m extremely disappointed! I’ve been renting for a couple decades and I’ve used Vacasa previously when they took over. The house was awful! I mean nice house but everything was broken and not working. Doors and all windows do not lock. Even in the kids room which was a problem due to being two stories up. Doors do not lock as well. Causing all our guest as well as I to carry all valuables with us. Made it difficult to go do anything. We could not use the pool at night because there was no lighting in or outside of pool deck area. Very Dangerous!!!! And disappointed since night swimming is a main attraction with h the children. The hot tub will not work if you use any electric items on the third floor. So no hot tub! All the widow and deck doors were missing all the curtains so not only would they not lock but we had no privacy! It was miserable and ruined the whole trip. And last but not least some of our guest had to leave because they were reacting too the black mold on the bottom floor bathroom cabinets and wall. I have pictures to. 20 years and this was the worst experience I ever had with the home in general. To be honest I feel bad m owed some money back. Definitely feel ripped off! I can definitely go for more but I’m want to remain polite. I hope the rental office can see this and hopefully will reach out to help with compensation! Oh and if your going to have a game room full of non working games you should probably make the room purposeful for something else. I’m not sure if I’ll be using Vacasa again!

Great house but could use some improvements

We loved that this house accommodated are large group of 4 families. Everyone had their own space and bathroom. There was plenty of room for parking, pool deck is big, furniture outside was nice. The house had new decking/rails, kitchen appliances, washer and dryer.

House was great. We did have trouble with door code when checking in and also the pool was not heated and we paid extra for that. Overall house was very clean and in a great neighborhood.

Great house in Dalvo!

We loved the house! Bedrooms/bathrooms are good size and the master suite is amazing!! Pool and hot tub/arcade game/pool table and air hockey kept my bunch occupied! We would definitely book the property again!

Would Rent Again

Just got back from our annual fishing trip where we stayed at Seas the Day. It worked out great. Did the bulk of our grocery shopping in Nags Head before heading to Salvo. The living room was great for group socializing then we old farts were able to disperse to our individual bedrooms. Only three minor gripes. 1) the dishwasher racks always come off the track, so it felt like you going to yank them out entirely when pulling them out. 2) the facing on the microwave is peeling, so it felt like it would peel off anytime you opened it. 3) no large frying pan. Really? All minor issues we adjusted to, but should be addressed. All-in-all, nice house, very spacious, clean, good location, and enjoyed the labeling on cupboards and light switches.

Improvements have been made

We were hesitant to book after reading some reviews but decided to try it for ourselves and were happy we did! The pool was perfect and heated, hot tub and other amenities were great! All decking and railings are brand new, you can hear the traffic but it’s not that much of a distraction. If you want a more quiet area of OBX I would recommend. We would def book here again

beach vacation

We have stayed in a beach house for a week in Salvo, NC. When we checked into the house, it was NOT clean at all! all the floors were sandy and VERY dirty, there were ants EVERYWHERE (inside and outside of the home). There was NO bath towels at all in all the rooms, the door handle in the kitchen for the sliding door was broken off, the sliding door in the basement was off the tracks so you could barely open and close the door. There were crumbs underneath everyone's bed's. I found a sock and a water bottle underneath my bed. overall, the house is nice but the cleanliness of the house was an absolute 0!! we called and complained and it took them 3 days to come and fix the doors and give us bath towels.

Had to clean upon arrival

This was our second time renting this house and the second time around was not so great. It could have been much cleaner. The floors were very dirty and covered in what seemed to be pet hair and sand. Vacasa was great at responding and brought us cleaning supplies. We were told out cleaning fee would be refunded, but that hasnt happened yet. We will see if it they remain true to their word.

Not bad for the price, but not great.

We had 5 couples and 5 children staying at what was believed to be a really nice 3 story house for our first time vacation to OBX. What we had in great amenities during our stay was also accompanied by just as many issues. All of the bed rooms were decently sized, with plenty of closet and storage space. The pool was great, and although smaller than the pictures suggest, we still all fit and were able to enjoy it. It was clean and well kept as well as the hot tub. The location was nice, and beach access was fine. The kitchen was great, grille was great, easy parking. The biggest issue we had was cleanliness and broken or missing things in the house. A few examples I can think of off hand: the 1 floor bathroom only had 1 lightbulb working, and most were actually missing from above the vanity, towel rack missing, toilet paper holder also missing, remote to the fan in the living room... MISSING! The second story door on the front of the house leaked when it rained one day.. water was pouring through and laying all over the foyer. the views from the 3rd floor were great, but the railing could fall over any moment. Not even an adult should be near it, never mind children. We actually read this in review in 2019 and had assumed (our mistake) that it would have been taken care of in the last 3 years. The slider door on the 2nd floor bedroom does not lock, and the door out on the 1st floor would swing open if it was too windy, even when we followed their directions taped to the wall on how to jimmy it shut so we had to keep it locked most of the time. Our kids feet were BLACK after walking barefoot for a day in the house and there were plenty of items left behind under furniture that clearly shows nothing has been moved in ages to be thoroughly cleaned. I also had asked Vacasa a month prior to the trip if we could check in at 4pm rather than 6. They have a texting service for Customer Service (which I thought was nice because I waited on hold twice for over 40 minutes before giving up) I had in writing that it was OK to check in at 4. We all planned travel times and then was told 2 days before that that was wrong and they wouldn't honor it. Then cleaning was behind and we didnt get in until AFTER 6pm. For the price in OBX, this house served it's purpose and thankfully we made the best of it. We have all agreed to spring for the more expensive houses and will not be choosing a Vacasa rental for our vacation next season.
