Build a beautiful resort village on a favorite Hatteras Island location, and they will come. The Cottages at the Cape are the closest rental units to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in Buxton. They share a long border with the national park and are steps from the beachfront. Bring the bikes because Buxton's unique shops, restaurants, and lighthouse are all very close. Forget the 4WD vehicle - those in the know have discovered that the three jetties to the east of the cottages produce some of the best fishing, surfing, and swimming on this island. Walking to the south will take you to open beaches, the famed Cape Point, and, if luck is on your side during the summer, a few sea turtle nests (be careful to stay outside the barriers).

The interior has been professionally decorated with comfortable and fun beach décor. You'll have access to an outside shower and a patio. An escape to the cape never looked so good as at Cottages at the Cape.

THINGS TO KNOW
Guests can enjoy access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility, approximately six miles north in Avon.
You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check-in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement.
This property is managed by Vacasa North Carolina LLC.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles.

Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

Great family vacation.

We had a great week. The place was close to everything. The beach ,stores, restaurants. We loved the screened porch, it was coffee in the am and dinner out there in the evening. The beach was beautiful and very easy to get to. Can't wait to visit again next year.

Buxon Condo

The house was comfortable and clean. The beach access by the house was closed(I suspect for nesting bird or turtles) but there was another path that took right to another beach by the lighthouse. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the house for 2-4 guests. There were two bedrooms and the one with the king bed was comfortable. There were plenty of closet space but no hangers. I would rent it again since it was comfortable

Check in problems- nice house

This is our first time staying at a Vacasa property. Another family was allowed to check into our unit and occupy it prior to check in. It took about two hours to get ahold of a local Vacasa employee. We ultimately stayed in another neighboring property but not the property we booked or signed the lease for. Disappointed on how this was handled. Public pool was awesome. House was close enough to beach to hear waves.

Tuna is great!

This house is very nice, well maintained except for a few things (closet doors are beat, and no hangers anywhere for all this closet space). The appliances are new, the kitchen could be a little more stocked and new pots and pans (these are kinda old and worn). Only half of the toaster worked. The AC works great, the house is very clean and updated. We will be staying in one of these townhomes next year for sure!

Close to the beach.

I love that this house is so close to the beach. Great walkway to go over. Make sure to look out in the mornings. You may have a wonderful surprise with deer. Such a beautiful sight to see. Partially stocked with pots and pans. Could probably use a few extra things. We really enjoyed this house as much as the others that we have stayed in here. Highly recommend. The price is great also. I will let you know there are ALOT of stairs so please be ready for a workout.

Home was nice great distance to beach

The home was great for us. The 5 min walk to beach was great, even with the one access closed. It was nice being at the end of the beach because it wasn’t overcrowded and tons of shells after high tide washed them all up. Bring extra if u plan on cooking or washing. Nice and private back area. Comfy bed and pillows. Wi-Fi password that was sent in email was incorrect. Wasted some time talking to customer service because they still had the incorrect one. Turns out the correct password is the one on the paper in the master bedroom. That was frustrating. Lots of stairs but ok if you’re mobile. Outdoor shower was a Big plus and covered area for 2 cars. Also nice to keep all beach gear on main level as to not have to have sandy things brought up to main living areas. You can hear the waves crashing on the beach from the back patio too. Can see it barely from a corner on the patio . The patio is screened in which is nice. Plenty of space to walk dogs too.

Good home

Home was maintained and overall clean. Walk to the beach is not bad, nearest public entrance as advertised is actually blocked off so you have to walk up on the beach through man made paths, not terrible just deceiving from pictures and descriptions.

Perfect Getaway

Loved having a front and rear porch area and loved the close beach access. Also loved the fact that it was a pet friendly rental in a cozy little neighborhood. Will definitely be booking again!

Nice layout, spacious for the number of bedrooms

We enjoyed our stay at this home. It was spacious, had a good layout, and was overall pretty clean. The kitchen had plenty of counter space and an island. Quilts/blankets were not provided so I recommend bringing some of your own. Additionally, some dishes and kitchen tools were not well cleaned before being put away.

Close to the beach

The home shows normal wear and tear for being a rental, but all appliances, electronics and A/C are all in working condition. Outdoor shower is nice after being at the beach. It is in walking distance to beach access (5 min) Short driving distance to the lighthouse (5 min).

We have stayed in Hatteras over 40 yrs. When we arrived, at this home, it was beyond filthy....dog hair everywhere; broken blinds; broken locks; missing screen The home did not have anywhere to put clothes, let alone hang them (no hangers) Kitchen was horribly equipped. Dirty pots/pans Old mattresses It was a nightmare to stay here as a family, especially during Covid. Felt like an old unmaintained fishermans cottage. Went to Hatteras Realty and spoke with representative that did not offer any apologies or solutions Do not recommend this home for a family, especially in Covid times. Super disappointed.

In the heart of OBX

Nice clean place with easy access to everything. 5 min walk to the beach, all stores and good restaurants. love sea food selections at local stores. lot's of local beers to try
