Yes, the view. Of course, the view. Absolutely, the view. But ultimately, you go inside at night. And there you will find a lovely and healing respite. First of all, the place is so clean that my husband and I took off our shoes without even being asked. I was a little intimidated by the kitchen drawers--was it possible that each utensil was placed at exactly the same distance from each other? EVERYTHING you would need was supplied. When we needed something and couldn't find it, we assumed that it wasn't because it wasn't there, just we hadn't found it yet. All sorts of little things that really matter: e.g., the water in the shower is hot immediately. The books on the bookshelves are actually really good books, especially for someone who is into cookbook porn like I am, but also for great fiction and also travel books about New England. At night, you can hear the ocean and you go to sleep to surf lullabies. The stairs to the beach are literally right next door, which means you can watch people going down to the beach, but they are far enough away not to be a bother. There is a wonderful screened-in porch where we ate all our meals, able to see and hear the ocean but unbothered by any flies or insects. There was the occasional and inevitable fly--a staple of New England beach vacations--and the only thing I never found was the fly swatter. I am sure it was there somewhere. The shower was lovely--hot, with a shower head the size of a pizza plate, and nice choice of shampoos, and my favorite Vitabath body gel. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. There was construction a block away, but it will be gone by the time you read this. Robin was incredibly responsive and helpful. This was pricey for just two people and completely worth it. For two couples it's an unbelievable bargain. Grab it, either way.
