Our 3 bedroom, 3 baths, well-appointed country-style home is located just 6 miles from downtown Ouray and 7 miles from the heart of Ridgway in a peaceful valley with stunning views of the surrounding mountain, offering AC for those warm summer days, unlike most homes in the majestic San Juan mountain.
This home features stainless steel appliances in the kitchen, Southwest-inspired furnishings, gas fireplaces in the main living spaces, a large deck perfect for enjoying the cool mountain air, and an outdoor fire pit.

Cancellation Policy: A non-refundable payment of $300 is required at the time of booking. This $300 payment is applied toward the total amount due and is only refundable within 72 hours of the time the booking is made. If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days before the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.

The location and views from the property were hard to imagine. And lots of wildlife.Inside was just as shown in the pictures. Everything worked well and property manager was very responsive.Could use a little decluttering but this was not a problem.

We love Ouray! This house is great! The driveway is not trailer friendly….so heads up if you are bringing side by sides. Finding a house with A/C was a plus!

This beautiful mountain home with incredible views is an easy drive to either Ouray or Ridgeway, and we had a fantastic time adventuring around the area. The home had more than enough room for our family of five, and the kitchen was well-stocked with utensils and spices. The back deck is lovely for watching deer and hummingbirds, and the lawn/garden area is impeccable. The home’s decor is an eclectic blend of southwestern upholstery, Native American art and trophy mounts (it took our kids a bit to warm up to the unique decor). To echo another review, you really feel the owner’s presence in this home, as a couple of Amazon packages arrived during our stay. Overall is was a nice base camp for our nearby mountain adventures.

Lovely well-decorated home in a great neighborhood

I loved the house, location, and decor. It was perfect for our group. My only gripes were that the WiFi never worked (I texted the automated # that checks in on you and never heard back), the steep driveway and patios weren’t plowed or maintained, we couldn’t get the fan in the top bedroom to turn on which made it very warm, and the amenities list garage parking which was in fact not the case. Overall I still found the property to be nice and a good value.

We watched the stars with deer on the lawn and had our coffee as turkeys strut a feet feet away. Inside the house is comfortable and well furnished. We felt the owner’s presence much more here than the other houses where we have stayed recently: the decor is abundant and in a western and Native style. One bookshelf is entirely well worn copies of Tony and Anne Hillerman paperbacks and the house immerses you in that world. The location can’t be beat - it feels remote but is just a few miles from Ouray in one direction and Ridgway in the other. We spent an entire day in nearby Orvis Hot Springs which was a highlight of our two weeks in Colorado.

Wonderful views and cozy home

We loved the property and the location. We appreciated the fully stocked kitchen (though fridge did not work) and access to the back deck with the fire pit. It was wonderful to see all of the wildlife wander through the yard.

It is far enough from the towns to be peaceful but close enough that the hot springs are not too far away. The views are spectacular. The yard and flower gardens are beatiful and well tended. The house is well maintained and has everything you could ever possibly need. Nicely appointed and has a great library! VRC staff were responsive to our needs.

Excellent Location

Saw several rainbows and there were about 10 deer that would come near the deck every evening.We did have some issues with spider webs prevalent throughout the bottom level (lots in the bathroom and some in the downstairs sitting room also). Another thing, not that we contacted anybody about this, but the power would blink off if all 3 AC units were on.Well stocked kitchen for cooking/baking. Only thing we couldn't find was a pitcher. Driveway was a bit steep and a couple roads leading to the house were dirt but not a problem for our CRV.Word of advice, don't leave ANY lights on during the night if you go in August. We did a couple of nights and had thousands (literally) of little flies that were able to get through the screen holes (or maybe even little holes somewhere else since we thought all the windows were closed??)The area is great for hiking and there are several close museums and other historical things to see.

Beautiful home, great for families.

This home is located between Ouray and Ridgeway making both easy to access. The home is lovely and has everything you need. Deer walk right up to the backyard salt lick. The views of the mountains are amazing. My kids have asked to come back to this home for a whole week.

Lovely setting and comfortable house

This house was very well appointed and comfortable for our family. We certainly had everything we needed. It is the home of people of a life well lived with very interesting books and artifacts. You might need a PhD to run the television but we did just fine streaming. Lovely wildlife in a beautiful place.

Family Vaca

The property was great for family and it was a good location as a homebase for our day trips. Ouray is a great little town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our granddaughter especially enjoyed watching the deer in the yard and the hummingbirds on the back deck.

Beautiful Area

We could have spent the entire time on the deck. The surrounding area was gorgeous and the night sky was full of stars. We saw quite a few shooting stars. Close to a lot of Jeep trails that we were running too.

The property was very well stocked with everything we needed to cook and enjoy the week. It was a quite location even though it was relatively close to neighbors and a camping ground.
