Cabarete is a vibrant, wonderful beach town with a great local population as well as a large expat community. It is often called the water sports capital of the Caribbean. The beautiful El Choco y Las Cuevas National Park is a 9 minute drive away. The town center is even closer and has great shops, restaurants, art galleries, a museum and more. Supermarket is a short walk away. The quality of life here is great yet the cost of living is remarkably inexpensive. It is a nice place to visit and many one-time tourists have made Cabarete their permanent home.
