The location is perfect. at the very end of the point so when you are in the middle of the living room in the condo you can look out the french doors to your right and see the lagoon, look out the french doors to your left and see the ocean - and not just a slice, magnificent views. and there are large decks on both sides to relax and enjoy. the unit itself is very nice and very comfortable. as far as i could see it was THE nicest condo on this side of town. on top of that, we are walking/biking distance to everything but far enough away to be away from the noise. francisco, the caretaker, is wonderful and will help in any way he can. placencia itself is a quiet, third world, town, poor but the people are happy and very friendly. loved the town and never wanted to leave. there are many ex pats (us, canada, united kingdom, etc) - we want to be one of them! had a car for one day to drive the entire peninsula - glad we did. the more expensive hotels and high end homes are out that way (it's only 16 miles total so not far) but i liked staying walking distance to town. we fished, dove, snorkeled, did stand up paddle boarding, toured monkey river, and relaxed, relaxed, relaxed. best food was at maya beach bistro up the peninsula, best food in town was rumfish. fun places to eat - de tatch, barefoot, tipsy tuna, to name a few. also recommend you walk the sidewalk which was the original street before they build the main road which is called the back road - it was just paved a couple of years ago. We will be back.
