Welcome to Coconut Castaway, your idyllic beach retreat on North Captiva Island! Accessible only by ferry or water taxi, this is the perfect destination for those seeking seclusion and natural beauty. Just steps from our front door, you'll find yourself on the pristine shores of the Gulf. Turquoise waters, white sandy beaches, and breathtaking sunsets await you daily, along with abundant wildlife sightings that make every moment memorable.

This spacious 1,600+ sq. ft. beach stilt home features a coveted upside-down floor plan. The first floor boasts a king master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and private lanai, a room with two twin beds, and two additional bedrooms each with queen beds. Smart flat screen TVs with Roku in every bedroom ensure entertainment, while USB plugs in all bedroom lamps provide convenience for device charging. A full guest bathroom and washer/dryer closet complete the first floor.

On the second floor, you'll discover the heart of the home with a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living area, dining space, and a convenient 3/4 bathroom. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors open onto a spacious lanai offering panoramic ocean views. For an unparalleled 360-degree view of the island, ascend to the crow's nest where beach loungers invite you to relax and soak in the sun.

Outside, on the ground level, a Weber grill awaits, perfect for grilling delicious seafood, burgers, brats and more. Located near Salty Approach, the grass airstrip, you can watch private planes and helicopters take off and land throughout the day. A public beach on the west side and a prime sunrise/dolphin viewing beach on the east side offer additional opportunities to explore and enjoy the island's natural beauty.

As members of The Island Club, for an additional fee our guests can have access to exclusive amenities including a members pool/bar area, bikes, paddleboards and kayaks (based on availability). Should you not choose to add these amenities you will still have access to the public pool, hot tub, and the option to rent a boat slip. The home provides one electric golf cart for 4 or less guests, and the price will adjust for a second golf cart for 5+ guests. Golf carts are ideal for navigating the island's dirt roads.

Linens, bath towels, and a fully equipped kitchen with a whole house reverse osmosis water filtration system ensure a comfortable stay. For your convenience, we provide a detailed vacation checklist, and recommendations for local vendors upon booking.

While pets and therapy animals are not permitted on the property, accommodations can be made for service dogs with advance notice and a completed form.

What a fun experience! Taking the ferry to the island was not expected but what an adventure...such beautiful scenery! Golf cart provided and so fun tooling around the island seeing all the amazing properties and beaches. Shelling was so fun on this trip for my birthday. House was great! So much room for the 2 of us and room for more...next trip! Great views from crows nest with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The property management company was great, pick up and drop off you and luggage with golf cart too! The only thing that the house would need more of would be like ziplocks, foil for baking etc. Great stay!

A perfect week in paradise after the busy holidays

The perfect get away. Cocounut Castaway had everything we needed to recharge after the busy holiday season. Beautiful sunrise and sunsets. Walks on the beach and shell hunting were our favorite activities. We visited the manatees daily and went to the pool at Mangos most days. My niece and nephew played basketball daily at the hoop at mangos. We loved the food at Mainstay but most nights cooked and grilled at home. The management company was excellent! The house had everything we needed for our stay. It was clean and nicely decorated. We can't wait to return next New Years!!!

Wonderful Island Stay

We had a wonderful time staying at Coconut Castaway. It was just what our family needed over the holiday break! We loved the house, the beach, and the island! The house was well furnished and decorated, and it had everything we needed. We especially liked the lanai and used it daily for morning coffee, meals, reading, and evening game time. We watched sunsets from the crow's nest. Having a golf cart to get around the island was convenient and fun. We walked the beach, hiked the trail, biked to the southern point, kayaked in the harbor, and swam at the pool. The club membership was a perfect match for our active interests. The quiet, calm, crowd- and traffic-free island vibe was just right for us. We would love to stay again!

Coconut Castaway is the perfect place for a family getaway. From picking us up at our dock with our golf carts and transporting our bins and bags to the house was the perfect start. The rooftop view was a favorite of our granddaughters and of course us as well North Captiva is such a memorable relaxing place we will for sure be back again and Coconut Castaway will be our first call. What a treat.......

Coconut Castaway is living in Paradise...what a beautiful House. We stayed for the whole month of July 2025 and didn't want to leave. The house is beautifully renovated and decorated. Nothing is missing. Every single detail was thought of. We only had one little hiccup with the Gulf Cart the first day, but Bill and Trisha took immediate, very professional care of it. Bill and Trisha's communications with me were prompt and always very helpful. I plan to rent Coconut Castaway again towards the end of the Summer, if possible. It deserves a 5 out of 5-star rating.

Perfect beach house

My wife and I wanted a casual but well appointed house for our break from the Northeast winter and Coconut Castaway was perfect. Newly renovated, well stocked, and seconds from a world-class beach. The owners and property managers were very attentive and we felt well cared for. My wife and I worked for half our two-week stay and we had plenty of bandwidth for simultaneous video calls. Highly recommend.

paradise! we can’t wait to come back!

This house is truly paradise! They thought of everything when they redid this home. What an easy place to visit with our family. The two golf carts are a bonus as they didn’t have any available on the island. Renting this home with the carts made our stay so much easier and enjoyable! The manager is great and met us at the dock, helped us unload and was available for anything we needed. The house has a beautiful setup with the balcony and porch! There is plenty of seating to enjoy dinner, coffee or even lounge in the sun! We even had speakers outside to enjoy music and watch the sunset from the house! The house was perfect and spotless! We will be back again this year! Don’t think twice just book the house! Best family trip we have had!

Wonderful property

Just Amazing!!!! Clean and perfect location! We had 8 adults and plenty of room. Having the hot tub at the house was perfect. Tortuga did an exceptional job! Checking in and out was so easy. This was our first time on the island and we were a little uneasy. They were so attentive and quick to respond to every request. The location of this property does not disappoint. Steps to the ocean. The views were more than we expected. We will be back for SURE!!!! Thank you for sharing your property!

A wonderful getaway!

We had a wonderful time on North Captiva Island while staying at Coconut Castaway. We were there for a 7 night stay. The house is very well appointed and is a short 2 minute walk to the beach. The screened in porch was perfect for meals and general socializing. The roof deck had a great view of the ocean and sunsets. Bedrooms were very nicely done and the property was perfectly clean. The kitchen has almost everything you could want to cook full meals! While we were there the golf cart for the house at 2 flat tires (which were fixed rather quickly) and the property manager was unable to secure a second golf cart, but it wasn't a problem as the island is very walkable and it was good to get some exercise! The property manager was quite responsive while we were there and was helpful in getting acquainted with the house, the island, and transportation on arrival and departure. Of note, the North Captiva Island Club has kayaks that were easy to use, but the bikes were mostly unusable so if biking is desired I would recommend renting one from Boats N' Fun or bringing your own. Bill and Trisha (owners) were helpful in answering questions prior to arriving at their lovely home.. Overall, we had a fabulous time and would return again in the future!

Coconut Castaway DELIVERS BIG !!

We stayed with Coconut Castaway 2nd and 3rd week of August. I feel that Coconut Castaway has the “IT” dialed in…we were very impressed. The unit was the CLEANEST Vacation home rental we have ever seen in Florida. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were well appointed with TV’s in the bed rooms, usb chargers, clean furniture updated comfortable linens etc. There was plenty of stock for the essentials like dishwashing pods/laundry pods/Toilet paper /paper towels etc. The living room area and dining area were large and the furniture and decor was nicely done and very CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN and comfortable. The kitchen appliances are all brand new it appears and very nice.! The kitchen was spotless. The kitchen had everything we needed, nice cookware, knives and dishes and lots of different spices etc. The grill is a Webber and it was clean, heated quickly and worked great. The home is beautiful and the location is awesome. We watched the sunset most nights from the top deck and other nights we walked the short distance (3 houses away) to the beach for sunset then jumped into the new awesome Hot Tub. Tortuga is the owner’s property manager and they were also excellent. They were on top of communications from the start. They picked us up on time at the dock and gave us a quick tour of the island on our way to the unit. There was a very small issue with the provided golf cart and Tortuga was very responsive and handled the issue quickly to our satisfaction. We used Tortuga via “Dumpling” for the groceries and the shopper was on top of things; very good communication (offering alternatives)and excellent service overall. Our groceries were stocked and ready for us when we arrived. A+ for Tortuga a nice perk for Coconut Castaway guests!!! The Island club membership was a big plus also, There were two pools and good service from the Bar area. We used the free bicycles and free kayaks etc. All of our interactions with staff at the club were with out instance. I had some dialogue with the Coconut ownership along the way to booking etc and they were also very responsive and very nice to speak to as well. They also reached out and followed up with us post visit and again when releasing the security deposit etc.! If you are wrestling with which unit to book, you will not be disappointed here. I really cannot say enough how nice it was there, so I will simply say we’d definitely stay there again without hesitation. A++ for Coconut!!

Perfect family getaway

We’ve stayed on North Captiva a few times and so far this has been one of our favorite properties. The owners were exceptionally helpful and the house had everything we needed and then some! I would definitely recommend this property to anyone considering a visit to the island.

Well Outfitted Lovely Beach House Near Sunsets on the Beach

We had an excellent stay at Coconut Castaway on North Captiva. The house was well taken care of. Comfortable updated furniture good for a big family and big family dinners. Kitchen had most of the things we needed to cook all our meals during our stay. The house was set up with soap and shampoos in the bathroom, kitchen soap and dishwasher soap, dishtowels, lots of bath towels and nice beach towels.these things were very helpful and next time I don't have to haul that stuff with. Beds were very comfortable. There were umbrellas and beach chairs in good condition to use on the beach. One well taken care of gold cart was part of rental. It was good we rented a second golf cart as we had 6 people going two or more directions. Thanks for a great stay. we will be back!!!

AMAZING PLACE!!!!

What a fantastic place to stay!!! The island is beautiful. The home is located in a perfect spot just steps away from the ocean. The owners have provided everything from beach chairs and umbrellas to games and extra bedding for the cooler nights. The management company was SO attentive to any request or additional item needed. Highly impressed with them!!!! We arrived with 8 adults and had plenty of room for everyone to gather together or sprawl out in smaller areas on the property. This trip was a huge success and we will definitely be back!

Currently living in the beautiful state of Colorado, the family enjoys amazing mountain views, world-class skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and more. However, one thing was missing... water! Growing up in Michigan, Bill and Trisha were always surrounded by water and often vacationed in Florida. They decided to invest in a fun, unique vacation getaway that they could enjoy with family and friends, as well as offer to occasional travelers looking to experience all the amazing things the island has to offer.
