Taproom's Landing: Hot Tub, Community Pool nearby, Close to Beach

Taproom s Landing is located in the oceanside neighborhood of Buck Island which has a large community pool, tennis courts, a playground for children and it has easy beach access for guests. [Note: No dogs or other animals are allowed in this home.]

Beds: 3 Kings (2 Masters), 1 Queen Master, 1 Pyramid Bunk with Trundle; 12 Towel Sets provided

TOP LEVEL:
The Great Room has a large flat-screen TV and lots of space to relax in the living area with access to the oceanside sun deck. The dining table seats 8 with 2 extra chairs available. The kitchen has plenty of counter space for preparing family meals and the kitchen bar counter seats 2. A screened porch has a picnic table to enjoy outdoor dining. The King Master Suite has a flat-screen TV and the master bath features a jetted tub and separate shower; this bedroom has deck access. There is a half bath near the kitchen. [Note: gas fireplace is not available for guest use.]

MID LEVEL:
There are 3 bedrooms on this floor: a Queen Master Suite has deck access and there is a shower/tub combo in its master bath. The King bedroom and the Pyramid Bunk bedroom (has deck access) share a hall bath with a shower/tub combo. The hot tub is located on the mid level deck.

GROUND LEVEL:
A King Master Suite is on this level; its master bath has a shower. Outside, there is an outdoor shower to use after beach-going or before using the hot tub. A gas grill is available for preparing easy summer meals.

EXTRAS:
Located in the gated Buck Island neighborhood, the community pool, tennis courts (with pickleball lines) and children s playground are located 300 feet away from this home. The private neighborhood beach access is 1640 feet away; the Clubhouse has a parking lot to make it easier to bring your beach gear to the beach. There is parking for 3-4 vehicles. Guests are not allowed to rent or use golf carts in this community.

Overall a very nice beach house in a great location. The host however never warned my family that the community pool was closed upon our arrival. It remained closed for the duration of our stay. With three young children this was a huge selling point of this home that we were unable to use. Also the community gate access code was wrong in the host's app which caused minor issue when checking in. Overall my family would stay again as the community guard told us they have never seen the pool closed in years of working there.

Great week!!

We had a great time staying here! The location was great and the beach was beautiful! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook family dinners and the yard was great for cornhole! We would definitely stay there again!!

Great family beach vacation

This was our first vacation with our grown daughters and spouses and grandchildren. The house was perfect. The location of the playground, pool, pickleball courts and beach worked out great for us. Would definitely come back!

Spring Break Vacation

We had a great stay at this property. All stores were a bike ride away. Beach access is very close. The house was stocked with everything a family would need. The area was quiet and guarded. I would recommend the home for a family looking to get away and enjoy themselves.

Great Vacation Home

I travelled with a party of 12 (6 adults and 6 kids) family members. We had a great time. The house was accurately described and perfect for a family with young children. The proximity to shops and the pool/playground was great. We always found parking for our car at the beach lot and chose to drive our gear down. I would absolutely stay here again.

Perfect Relaxation & Beach Vacation

Loved the house, it was absolutely perfect! Needs to upgrade the grill/clean it better than we could. Only 1 burner works on the grill and if it’s windy forget about grilling. Overall, it was a PERFECT location to shops, restaurants, and 4x4 Beach! We will be back! :)

2023 Family Vacation

Our stay at the Taproom was very nice. Some areas of the house need some updating, eg carpet, refrigerator had a hard time keeping things cool, and the HVAC system did not keep the bedrooms cool on the second level. But overall, we had a very nice time visiting OBX! Thank you.

OBX Vacation 2023

The house is just ok. Could use some big updates - furniture, new carpets. The fridge doesn’t keep food cold. House could use a bigger fridge or a second fridge for beverages/water. Bar stools at the counter aren’t useable. They’re too short for the counter. 2 of us had to stand at the counter every night for dinner. The wifi was spotty. The bedrooms had Apple TVs but you couldn’t get wifi to use it. Kitchen is stocked just ok. No big stock pot for pasta or corn on the cob. We love Buck Island’s location, but won’t be renting here again.

ANT MOTEL

Ants on tables, bed, carpet and furniture, Furniture is old, worn and you can see the floor through the springs. Window and door screens didn't work, and TVs didn't work. No garbage disposal and no maintenance person on the weekend. Shower head had to be replaced. 2 lamp cords were cut off. they did not work. Windows, carpet and the couches were dirty with stains. No, we wouldn't stay there again. Vrbo should be rated a 2 star for referring this and take us off your mailing list.

Decent Stay but some issues

Property is in great Location, Walking distance from everything, Grocery shop, restaurants, The beach, etc... It also is conveninently located acorss the street from the Development's ammenitities (Pool, Pickle Ball/Tennis Courts). The Property was clean, however they literally leave it with one or 2 toilet paper rolls, no soap, etc.... This is a small thing but for what you pay you shouldn't feel like they skimping on this. More importantly Some of the Appliances need to be upgraded, specifically the Grill did not work well; we tried to grill during the 4th of July and there was some wind so the grill kept turning off, and we couldn't reach high enough temperatures. And The fridge, when we filled it for 12 people, did not get food cold enough.

Great Location/House had Issues - Read the Whole Review.

Pros: Walking distance or short drive to beach, shopping, restaurants. Beach is clean and not overly crowded. Plenty of space and privacy in the house. The family room furniture appears newer and clean. Cons: House missing allot of basics. Only 1 bedroom has a ceiling fan. Carpenter ants in the kitchen the first couple days. Had to call for pest control. Dishwasher needs replaced. The lid that releases the dishwashing pod cannot open- it’s blocked by the bottom rack. Washer and dryer are very small for this size of a house. The cleaning job was bad. I had someone sweep under the beds. I hand washed cups before using them. The floors were sandy. The TVs are terrible! The streaming is bad, the cable is bad, the Apple TV didn’t work. We called and someone came out but then the next day it wasn’t working again. Issues with the AC. We were told since it was after 5:00 no one could come out. In the meantime the top level was 75. This part is the worst! There was a hornet nest on the porch and my son was stung. I called and left a message. No one ever came out or called me back to acknowledge my message and ask if my son was ok or apologize. Also, my brother in law sat on a kitchen chair and it literally broke right out from under him. Had he not caught himself he could have been seriously hurt. Last, the bunk beds made me very nervous from day one because they are shaky. Someone needs to tighten the bolts or get rid of them.

Nana's 70th birthday celebration

Great space for our family. We loved the location and the Wii for 6 grandkids. Downside: lots of burned-out lights, spiders, bugs in ceiling corners, kitchen was completely disorganized, grill was gross (my husband spent an hour cleaning before we could use it) It was full of grease, leftover rotten food, etc. He organized dishes, cookware, also, in the kitchen, as it was a mess. Under couch cushions is gross! Needs thorough cleaning.

The Best of OBX

We could not have asked for a better location. Close to shoppes and the beach. Plenty of room for the entire family. We enjoyed meals together each day, game nights, and even a little Wii competition.

Great vacation

We enjoyed our stay at Taproom's Landing. The house fit the needs of our group. The beds were comfortable and we had plenty of room to relax. The cleaning crew was still cleaning when we arrived after 4:30, and it was apparent that it was a rushed job. We rented a golf cart and we were very glad we did. Although the house is within walking distance to the beach, it was really nice to have the golf cart for quick transportion for all of our beach gear. The large community pool was often empty and very clean. On our last evening we ate our take-out pizza at the pool. We would rent this house again if we have the same size group as this year.

Great visit!

It was a great house for 6 adults and three children, 8 yrs., 5 yrs., and 2 yrs. It was a bit of a hike to the beach, but loading up the car and unloading at the beach access was fine. Parking was available at the beach. Thanks for a good week!!

Great Place

Great lace, very spacious, clean. Close to the beach and close to restaurants and shopping. 10 minute drive south to Duck and 10 minute drive north to the lighthouse
