Beautiful Farm Stay Get Away with Pond and Animals

Shepherd's Bridge Farm is hosted by Bing and Karen Henderson, Superhosts with a 4.9 positive rating. We are located on 41 beautiful acres. It is a working farm where you can relax and enjoy the view, farm sounds and more. Lake Milton and Berlin Reservoir State parks are both within 6 miles. Enjoy our sheep, and chickens in the pasture. Fish with your own gear in our pond.

Our vision is to honor Our Creator who has provided all living things. We employ natural farming methods and encourage stewardship of the land and it’s resources.

If you love nature, animals, barns, quaint buildings, farm equipment, small farm stream bridges, gardens, huge trees, swings, ponds, Fall Colors, or just want to go to beautiful relaxing location to get away from it all, this would be a perfect location. This is a great place for relaxing and getting away from the city for a “Country Retreat” for people from nearby Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Youngstown, Akron, Canton, or beyond. There is a great view of animals from the kitchen table. If you like birdwatching, thes birds have been spotted, Hummingbirds, Red Headed Woodpeckers, Orioles, Robins, Bluebirds, Cardinals, Blue jays, Morning Doves, Herons, Hawks, and Redwing Blackbirds.

We raise garlic, garden vegetables, do aquaponics, have a greenhouse, cut wood for stoves, make hay, compost food scraps, grow shitake mushrooms, and make our own maple syrup. The campfire and wood are available for use.

The Suite is a self contained with a private entrance, The unit has a living room, bedroom, full kitchen, and washer/dryer, and bathroom shower. A Berkey Water Filter is available or bring your drinking water. The bedroom has a Queen size bed and there is a Queen Size Sofa Bed in Living Room area. The unit is connected to the Main House with sound insulation between 2 doors that block most sounds. There is a Deck Walkway that passes by the front door that will have occasional people passing by. Curtains and blinds are available to make totally private.

The Pond is available for fishing with your own fishing gear. Children will need supervision.

If we are available, you can join us to feed the animals and collect eggs: A Cob oven or Pizza Oven is available upon request if we are available for an Extra Charge.

Relaxing country stay

Pleasant Stay in Deerfield

We had a nice stay in Deerfield. Everything was as described. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The location was good for us - close to Rogers, Youngstown, and Kent. We enjoyed the company of the owners and the animals :-). We'll be back again.

Quaint Country Cottage

Very nice cottage on a farm. It was very comfortable for my stay, but I wish I would have had more free time to go explore the property. The last night of my stay I met the owners, who were very friendly and made me feel right at home.

Reunion at the fair

Our primary trip for traveling to Ohio was to see our families and to enjoy some time with our grandchildren at the Canfield Fair. We had a great time and letting the kids come and see the farm was another joy for them. This was our second year that we stayed there and we enjoyed ourselves just as much if not more so. Nice and clean placed to stay.

Beautiful Property/Wonderful Hosts

We enjoyed our stay even though it rained most of the time. We did get to walk the property and feed the sheep and Alpacas. I got some great photos as well. The place was clean, decorated nicely and the hosts made it quite comfortable. When we arrived there were fresh baked cookies on the table and we were given a dozen eggs when we checked out. All in all a great stay!

Quiet Farm

Loved our stay at this farm! Location to Lake Berlin and Melton Lake, local restaurants and also Youngstown was ideal! The updated apartment was comfortable, cozy, and had everything we needed for our stay! We also appreciated the fresh farm eggs! Peaceful and quiet, which is exactly what we wanted. Hosts were gracious, hospitable, thoughtful, and kind. We thoroughly enjoyed our time getting to know them better and learning a bit about farming. Highly recommend!

Nice weekend getaway and learning experience!

Had a wonderful mommy daughter weekend with my 3 year old. We walked around the pond, played in the stream, fed the animals and helped get the fresh eggs from the coop! My 3 year old really enjoyed the outdoors and animals, which we don’t see much of here near the city (Pittsburgh). The property owners were super friendly and quickly responded to any questions we had! The property was also very clean and well kept. Will come back again with the whole family! Nice & Peaceful

I can say enough about how wonderful this property is! It is quite and clean. Karen and Bing are wonderful hosts. We had a bonfire, helped with the feeding of the animals which for two city sisters was and amazing experience. While there are things to do in the area our purpose was to stay and just relax.. and that is exactly what this property offered. We were able to bring our own food and cook meals in the kitchen. We walked the property and for me the most fun was just sitting and watching the animals. If you want time away from the hectic things in life this is the place to stay!

Farm Charm

My husband and I just stayed in the Guest Suite on Shepherd’s Bridge Farm hosted by Dr. Bing and Karen. What wonderful hosts they are! From the moment you pull into the driveway, you’re greeted by the “hellos” of the alpaca, sheep and chickens running about (within a fenced area not far away) The farm is so peaceful and serene, just what we needed for a “reset”! The suite, which was recently renovated, was perfect for us, very comfy and cozy, decorated to embrace the farm life theme. It’s also very private and quiet. We especially loved our morning coffee while watching the animals in the distance and the pond just beyond them. A beautiful log cabin sits beside the pond which we will most definitely stay in on our next visit! The location is convenient to picking up the interstate and about 20 minutes drive to restaurants and grocery stores.
