Newly remodeled. It is a very spacious inside and outside of the location. Private entrance. One bedroom, one bathroom, a living room and kitchen. Residents of Winterhaven host the annual Winterhaven Festival of Lights during the holiday season

The cottage was perfect for my needs. Just a mile from my son’s home. Clean bathroom. Very responsive owner.

Overall a good choice for the price
Finding the property was difficult because the number on the building is not easy to see from the street (black numbers against dark brown). Access to the key was complicated requiring a punch-in code. Despite several requests online, I was never given the phone number of the host. I arrived at 4:25 p.m. No one was around to ask for entrance info, so I came back an hour later when other guests were at the other part of the property. They called and left a message for the host for me and she emailed the code to access the key so I could let myself in. The apartment is basic and fairly comfortable. It has a good mattress and excellent shower, a powerful microwave and a toaster, and a big refrigerator and an electric stove. It also has a desk but lacks a straight chair (it has stools that don't work with the desk). Nor does it have a way for a short person to reach the top shelf of the kitchen cabinet where some of the dishes are kept. The light beside the bed has a clear bulb with visible filaments that produce a bright orange-toned light that is not very good for reading. Nights were chilly, and because there is no blanket available (just a sheet and light bedspread), I had to increase the nighttime temperature with the thermostat, a waste of energy. Overall I found the rooms comfortable enough for the few hours that I occupied them during my five-day stay.

Very outdated, parking not well-lit, small things like hand towel & hook for robe or hand towel would have been nice. Strange odor inside the whole time despite my constant deodorizing. Bed very firm and very cold kitchenette
