Perfect Private Family Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A home away from home stay. The resort has an easy access to pool, playground, and private beach; all well-maintained. Individual accommodations includes all kitchen amenities, but guests will need to bring their own bathroom amenities (soap, shampoo, lotion, etc). A place where parents and kids can relax and enjoy.

I enjoyed my time at the property the neighbors were very nice although the office was closed so it was hard to get in touch with some people but it was great!

Unit 21 was nice but the furniture is chosen for younger people. As seniors we found it insufficiently supportive and comfortable.

The unit I was in was dirty when I arrived. Floor had not been vacuumed and dishes in the cupboard were dirty. For $3,000 per week, the place should be spotless. Unit is painted a caramel color and is gloomy, even with all the curtains open. I would be happy to stay at Sleepy Hollow again, but would choose a different unit.

I was disappointed that there were pictures of chairs for outdoor seating out front, and a table & chairs on the patio of our unit out back, but our unit had neither when we arrived and we had to eat our meals inside for the first time ever at SH. I do like to get what is advertised when I select a unit. Otherwise, we loved it!

Super close to Lake Michigan

Easy to rent and SUPER close to Lake Michigan access. No hot water in bathroom sink and bed mattress kind of hard and lumpy. But I enjoyed the property very much. Beautiful!

Reasonable price for 1 bedroom with daybed. Enough space for 3 of us. Nice kitchen. Private patio with grill. Seating inside not super comfortable-a bit like a dorm room. Floors/rugs could have used a washing. An extra mirror besides the bathroom would have been good for 3 ladies getting ready. Garbage next to buildings were all locked so we had to drive bags up to front of resort to dispose of. Great shopping, restaurants and things to do within 10 minutes! I would recommend for adults and families during off season.

Reviewer Comments: Our family has stayed at Sleepy Hollow several times and would still recommend the property, although we were sad to see how much of the beach is gone and missed the sunset s'mores on the beach. Terrace 21 was nice overall. However, please note that it will not sleep 5 adults, which was an unpleasant surprise for us. There is a bed that sleeps two in the bedroom, along with a futon and a trundle bed. The futon might be large enough for a small child, but probably not anyone over 10 or so. Both my kids complained about the trundle bed, so perhaps the mattresses should be replaced. The pillows for all the beds were also somewhat thin, so replacing those with fluffier pillows would be a low-cost but appreciated upgrade. FYI: This unit does not have a dishwasher, which we didn't notice when booking, but we worked around it. Outside of those things, the unit was clean and well-appointed. And everyone at Sleepy Hollow was helpful throughout our visit.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed in Terrace #21 over the fourth of July. It is a one bedroom. Very nice stay with a comfortable bed and furnishings. We enjoyed the free bike rentals and beach. Wish the bikes were maintained better due to wet seats and blown tires but a very nice addition to our trip. The beach is smaller than the past 6 years I've stayed but still very peaceful. Really enjoyed searching for lake glass. I will be back again for sure.

Love Sleepy Hollow!

The resort is very well maintained, cared for, and clean. So much for the kids to do on property and totally safe and comfortable to just let them run out the door on their own every morning - only rule is can't go down to the beach without parent. Unit was perfect for our needs. Gave 4 stars because the unit needs a new mattress on the bed and a better couch for lounging. Nit picking but for the price we should expect good quality mattress and couch.

A squeaky stay !

Three days of attempts to repair the refrigerator. Finally a replacement brought in that squealed when the compressor was running so loud that I had to turn the temperature setting down at night so we could sleep. I had another unit rented for my children and grandchildren at the time and I felt as though management took advantage of this situation. I asked for some compensation, so we'll see what happens. Otherwise a Great time was had by all! But the next guest may not be so understanding.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Every time we stay at sleepy hollow, we stay in a different unit. This unit was clean and freshly decorated. It was a good size for a weekend with kids bc I didn't have to baby proof a larger area and chase the baby around. I recommend this unit for a couple or one with a small child or baby. Again we love sleepy hollow and have always had a fantastic stay.
