Welcome to the Ski Bear Chalet, a charming A-frame cabin that blends comfort, convenience, and rustic elegance in the heart of the Smoky Mountains! As you step inside, be captivated by the vaulted ceilings and breathtaking panoramic views of the Smoky Mountains. The open-concept great room boasts a stacked stone fireplace and a 52” smart TV, perfect for family gatherings or quiet evenings with a book.

The country-style kitchen is fully equipped for your culinary adventures, while the wraparound deck offers stunning views and fresh mountain air. Each bedroom provides a cozy retreat with comfortable beds and smart TVs. The lower floor is the ultimate fun zone, featuring a full-sized pool table and a private deck with a hot tub.

Beyond just accommodation, our chalet is an experience - from the regular visits of local bears to the mesmerizing views of Ski Mountain. Whether you seek outdoor adventures or a serene getaway, the Ski Bear Chalet serves as the perfect home base for your unforgettable journey.

Of note:
Nestled on Ski Mountain, our chalet is a mere half-mile from the Ober Gatlinburg Resort offering year-round activities--skiing, ice skating, bumper cars, roler coaster, sky tram to downtown Gatlinburg--and minutes away from downtown Gatlinburg. The area strikes a perfect balance between tranquility and activity. Spend your days exploring the scenic trails of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park or relish in the lively atmosphere of downtown Gatlinburg. Moreover, we are conveniently located just 15 minutes away from the family-friendly Pigeon Forge and the renowned Dollywood theme park, offering a plethora of entertainment options for all ages.

During your stay, you will have exclusive access to the entire cabin, encompassing all rooms, the game room, outdoor decks, and the private hot tub. Our chalet is situated in a bear-friendly area, so you might encounter occasional visits from our furry neighbors. We kindly ask that you appreciate their presence from a distance, respecting their natural habitat. Additionally, you'll enjoy complimentary access to the Chalet Village Owners Club amenities throughout your stay.

It a great place,and location

Its a great place and location close to down town Gatlinburg alot to do and if you want to see bear they walk around the the area where the cabin is and you see them all the time.

Great Getaway

We had a blast at Jeff's place! The location was great and it was very kid friendly. We didn't see any bears during our short time there (I was thankful for this) and had an overall great time!!

Great property for your family

We really enjoyed our experience staring at this property. The communication with the property manager was top notch, quick and helpful. Cute setup and overall good location. We really enjoyed the fire pit and community pools!

Best bear experience!

Cute little chalet in the mountains! Had plenty of room for the 7 of us. Best part of the stay was the bears. We seen a momma bear and her three cubs everyday during our stay.

Enjoyed family get a way!

We enjoyed our stay, made good use of the game room, fire pit and hot tub. Host was very responsive regarding a question we had. Only thing we forgot was liquid dish soap and garbage bags.

Absolute dream A-frame cabin

We loved our stay at the Ski Bear Chalet. We saw a family of bears every day we were there and the view across the street is unbelievable. The cabin had everything we needed and Jeff was very responsive . Check in couldn’t have been easier and we loved having the hot tub and the awesome addition of a jacuzzi tub downstairs. We would definitely recommend staying here to anyone who wants to have a great stay in Gatlinburg!

Great getaway!

We had a great time at the Ski Bear Chalet! This cabin is perfect for a little getaway. Jeff was such a nice host and also responded in a very timely manner. If you are wanting to see a lot of bears, this is definitely the place to stay! We saw many bears, especially in the morning! Thank you so much for a great time, we will definitely keep this cabin in mind next time we come!

Great spot to get away.

This was a great property that was exactly as advertised. Its in a great location for getting into Gatlinburg as well as the National Park but still provided some peace and quiet for our down time. My whole family liked the layout of the house and we liked being surrounded by nature. Along with that, we could easily get into either town or the park within 10 minutes. We loved this property and will certainly plan to stay there again the next time we come to town. 5 Stars for sure.

Family Spring Break

We (family of 6) enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Everything was clean and cozy. We enjoyed the pool table and hot tub. On the second day we got some bear visitors that just peacefully checked out the deck and went about their business. Jeff (the owner) was friendly and easy to contact. Easy acces between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Would definitely recommend.

Nice cabin in great location

Excellent proximity to Gatlinburg and blocks from Ober mountain sky tram. We found cabin to be clean , spacious ( 2 couples) and comfortable. Easy way to avoid Gatlinburg traffic was to drive a few blocks up and catch the tram down. Great views along the way. Jeff was very responsive and proactively checked to ensure our stay was positive. There were a couple of minor issues like burned out bulbs but nothing to negate our overall positive experience. We enjoyed our stay.

Great Experience

For starters Jeff is hands down a stand up guy and man of his word. Communication was A1 and never missed a beat or hesitated to keep me informed as it got closer to check in. He is definitely a great host and gave my family and I a reason to keep coming back. The place itself felt like home soon as you walk through the doors and everything is as described. Beds are comfortable and everything works as it should with no complaints. My family and I look foward to coming back in May and definitely looked foward to seeing some of the changes and updates. Thank you Jeff again. You really do have a nice property

Already looking forward to next year!

We LOVED staying at this property! It was pretty clean, besides a few drinks cans left behind, but other than that, in wonderful shape! The kids had a blast and probably would've been happy staying at the property the whole time we were in town. The loft upstairs was perfect for them to have their own little space, especially with its own balcony. The bedroom on the main level having its own entrance was a plus, too. We loved the fact that there was a game room downstairs, and spent most of our time there while we were at the property in the morning and at night. Overall, we enjoyed our time here and we plan on renting again next year!

Ski Bear

This is a great little cabin. It's definitely older but was comfortable for our family with kids. The host was super responsive with the couple minor issues we had. Access to the community pool was nice. Bears walked through the yard every day and even onto the porch so be aware if you're outside. My only complaints would be that there is no dish soap provided and some indoor spaces could use better lighting. Overall was a good value for us.

Cozy getaway

We had a really nice time staying here. The boys enjoyed the pool table, we enjoyed the hot tub! We saw bears right out front, they walk past the house daily. The neighbors are nice, neighborhood felt safe. The town is very close by. Bears are all over ski mountain road, we saw more bears in the neighborhood than we did in cades cove. Beds were comfy. Perfect space for a family of four and our dogs. Internet was never an issue. Thank you again! We’re already planning our next trip!

Very bad communication is how I got beat for my money

AC is leaking have a old damp smell cleaning didn't clean very well and at the end of the day I was accused of it and being a couldn't connect with the property manager. I had to pay for it and it wasn't me

Spacious Cabin on the Mountain

Overall we really enjoyed our stay here. The downstairs bathroom was our only disappointment. The “shower” head is handheld but is on the edge of the tub right beside the faucet so you have to hold it above you the whole time if you want to use it like a shower. It’s not up on the wall where a normal shower head would be. The cabin is very roomy except for a small kitchen. Pay attention that the upstairs bathroom has a tub but no shower. It’s in the listing, but I didn’t notice this at first. The stairs are rather steep so keep this in mind. Bring you own laundry detergent if you plan to wash clothes. Most everything else has about a 2-3 day supply as stated in the listing. We saw bears almost every day of our stay, which was exciting. It’s a quiet neighborhood up on the mountain. Our family of four enjoyed our stay overall and would consider staying there again.

Host was amazing quickly answered all the questions i had. Home was very clean. Everything was in working order. He needs to update his listen to add the amazing shower that is down stairs cause the shower down there is the most amazing shower I’ve ever seen! Will definitely book with him again!
