Comfy and restful

The furnishings were comfortable and not too crowded. The view of the ocean was spectacular. The resort is in an excellent location and walking Sugar Beach in the morning was such treat.

Stunning sunsets. Whale watching from the lanai. Daily walks on the long, beautiful beach. Peaceful and relaxing! Well equipped and beautiful modern decor.

Great Condo - Well maintained

We have stayed at Sugar Beach condos 4 or 5 times and this unit was among the best. Well equipped kitchen, well supplied towels. Nice and quiet as it is near the end of the building.

Beautiful view

The best thing about our stay in Maui was the beautiful view from our condo. The very first night we saw whales in front of the condo and the beautiful palm trees and crashing waves. The condo had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable.

Beautiful place. Nicely decorated. Very Clean. Nice dishes and FLATWARE! Nice welcome gift by Vacasa. Love having a washer and dryer, cooler, towels. Ability to rent chairs and umbrella. Beautiful View!! We would come back!

Nice location!

We enjoyed our stay at this little condo. We had a rental car, and we location of it on the island is really convenient if you plan to travel to different attractions. This place is RIGHT on the water (so close you can hear the waves with tele lanai door closed. It was great on those rainy days because you could still enjoy the ocean from inside. We felt the unit was a bit outdated for the price that was asked, but it was clean and the location and views made up for that.

Just a few items need updating or replacing: Dishwasher not operating Wall clock needs battery Chairs on deck are worn out and need to be replaced Teflon coated frying pan is scratched and pitted (very unhealthy) and needs to be replaced with an anodized pan Bedroom door has a dark area, may be mold

Ocean front

We stayed this ocean front condominium a week and it was amazing experience. Everything is so convenient. Restaurant, supermarket, shopping mall, all activities. We choose Kihei because every where we wanted go was good distance from Kihei. Property was super clean. I loved also welcome gifts.Most I like this place is front of ocean. I can hear sound of waves. This is the place to relax and have fun in Maui. Thank you😊

Nice place. Right on the water!

Overall the place was great. However some things were missed by the cleaning crew (floors, coffee maker). Not a major issue, but still noteworthy for the owner. It has a modern kitchen with all the small appliances one would need. Nice assortment of utensils, bowls, etc. A nice little gift bag with some treats was nice. However, bring your own spices as none are provided. Again, overall a nice place and worth booking.

Room for improvement

Check-in clerk is impatient. Written Information provided about use of tv equipment was deficient, however the Vascara agent came to the room twice to walk us through the process and was very pacient and to be commended, Tiffany.

A week in Maui

Overall clean, well kept property with good amenities. Nice pool, hot tub, shops, food, and rentals facility right on premises. Centrally located, so easy to get to most of Maui. But be prepared for the wind!!! Kitchen was nicely organized and well stocked with utensils, pots, pans, etc, but very lacking in basic supplies. Not even salt, pepper, sugar/sweetener, or cooking spray/olive oil; so be prepared to buy everything if you are going to cook. Enough toilet paper, but only 1 roll paper towels, no kleenex. Cooler in the closet was handy, though had a broken handle. Bed was big and comfortable. Could have used some instructions on how to work the dishwasher and shower. Maintenance was VERY prompt when called. We enjoyed balcony, but would have enjoyed it more if the table was not on the brink of falling apart.

One suggestion is that the sliding door track is split and will not allow the door to fully close. It leaves about an 8 inch long 1/4 inch wide gap and makes it hard to open. Just an fyi.

Sugar Beach Resort

The condo is ocean front, we spent most of our time on the balcony. We were there for relaxation. My only complaint was we had to start the first load of laundry before check-out. My fear was what if after we left and there was a leak from the washing machine, and the condo flooded. Am i responsible? You should remove guess to do the laundry just for the safety of your own property. Thanks

Amazing Location

The listing is accurate - love the 90s vibe throughout. The beach is right there! Appreciated the umbrella and the two beach chairs left in the closet so that we did not have to rent any. Fantastic base of operations to explore the south/west side of Maui or just appreciate easy access to the beach.

Two things!!

During our stay (Nov 30-Dec 14)a storm occurred and the condo rear door leaked water in the unit. After contacting Vacasa it took another 2 1/2 days to get someone to help . Then we had loud large fans running in the condo for another 2 1/2 days . In addition we requested a early check in (denied) and a late check out (denied)! No Thanks we will look else where and with a different Agent !!!

Lovely ocean view but condo needs a refresh

We've been to Maui several times before, but this was our first time staying at a vacation rental. The pros: Convenient location in south Kihei and a lovely ocean view with easy beach access. The cons: I'm fairly certain this unit hasn't been updated in a very long time, if ever. It looks tired, dated and is in need of a refresh. Although it's advertised as a non-smoking unit, the smell of stale cigarettes is infused in the old furniture and draperies. What's provided is very basic, nothing extra. In addition, a few days before our scheduled arrival date, we were notified that the pool and spa would be out of order for "annual scheduled maintenance," which should have been disclosed before booking, not after making the final payment. Overall, it was adequate, but nothing special. For our next trip to Maui we won't be staying there again.
