Lakefront cabin with spectacular sunsets included

How is this property different? Quite simply, it is our home, not a generic cookie-cutter house, but a unique log cabin built in the 1950s, and expanded in the 90s. It is also ideal for those with mild disability. It is all knotty pine inside, with one open common space, two spacious bedrooms with lake views and en suite bathrooms with walk-in double showers, and a third smaller bedroom with a woods facing window. There is a third full bath with tub. (It is the original bathroom. We NEVER mess with it because the water pressure is fantastic. It's the one where you will wash your hair!) Has baseboard heat with individual thermostats for chilly nights, ceiling fans and floor to ceiling windows lakeside. Fireplace in the common room. All new appliances in a serious cook-equipped kitchen. Two dining tables can seat 18 if expanded, but allows one to be set up for board games or puzzles. Only a few feet from the lake and the dock, with boat mooring. A swim float is a few yards from the dock. Very secluded setting with little boat traffic off of a private road that services only 6 properties. There is an adorable child’s playhouse (equipped with a sink to which a garden hose can attach to provide running water). Canoe available if desired. Propane grill is outside. The property is on the east side of Long Lake, halfway between Naples and Harrison . You will be tempted to photograph every sunset, but none will capture the beauty your eyes will take in. The loons call out all night. This is Maine lake district at its most relaxing. Harrison has been struggling with broadband access but is addressing the issue currently. At present we have internet service, that is unreliable. Recent guests have used their own hot spots successfully, as we do. A new handicap-friendly dock with railings was installed in 2022, new swim float in 2023. There are stairs as well as a ladder from the dock into the lake. The main en suite bathroom has grab bars and can have a toilet frame with assist bars if requested. Two lift chairs (living room and main bedroom) are ideal for Parkinsons sufferers.

Spacious, Great Swimming and Sunsets!

After years going to Lake Champlain this was a new vacation spot for our family- Long Lake is clear, clean water lovely for swimming, with a sandy bottom and at least during our stay no weeds to contend with. The house is spacious with two large bedrooms w/ en suite bathrooms and a third smaller bedroom with a 3rd bathroom right outside the door. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking- altho there were no empty cabinets for guest food/supplies in the kitchen which would be helpful for longer stays. The path to the dock and stairs into the water, as well as the dock itself are wonderful- tho the paths to the water are difficult for someone with mobility issues to navigate (protruding roots). The main thing we wished for all week was a DECK or Patio off the back of the house- that would be lovely there! In general a comfortable welcoming home, easy to communicate with host and caretaker, responsive and helpful. Lots to see and do in the surrounding towns. We had a great dinner at Chianti as well as an amazing massage at Nolihala. Would recommend to others!

A wonderful 2024 Family Vacation

We have been renting on Long Lake for many years and were so happy that we found this cottage for our family this year. The cottage was better than advertised. All of the accommodations you could possibly need. The location on the lake is also amazing! We spent endless hours on the great dock and using the swim raft. The sunsets across the lake were also incredible! We hope to return again next year!

Wonderful

Quintessential lake cabin with upgraded amenities. Clean lake with beautiful views. We enjoyed the fire pit by the lake each evening and fell asleep to the loons. I didn't want to leave! We hope to rent again.

Beautiful location

Cottage is located in a beautiful area and the lake is very clean and clear. The property is a little older but in good condition, and it was wonderful to have the towels and linens all provided! The property also included amenities like water noodles, beach towels, a canoe, and life jackets - definitely a plus - as well as a large dock and an area to moor the pontoon boat we rented. Only disappointments were that one of the 3 showers wasn’t working (which was difficult with 6 people) and that the shower curtain in another bathroom was very moldy. However, upon notifying the owner, a new shower curtain was promptly provided. On a side note, the sunsets are spectacular!

Long Lake Calling!

Thank you to our Connie an Alan for sharing their lovely home with us. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Long Lake. Lots of nice amenities including spacious bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, plentiful beach towels, stocked kitchen and extensive board game collection made it a great week to relax and disconnect with family. Lakefront was beautiful with a new dock that was accessible for my elderly father to enjoy, a rarity in these parts. Convenient location, quiet yet minutes to both Naples and Harrison.

Absolutely stunning property

This home was a dream! Incredible views, amazing dock, I couldn’t believe how clear the water was! 10 feet or so deep you can see right to the bottom no problem. The house was gorgeous and very well updated, everything inside was top of the line. Beds were AMAZING, bathrooms all very well done, top of the line kitchen, everything just well well done. The entire lake side of the house is covered in windows so you have an amazing view. Excellent communication from both the owner and the property manager. I do wish there were better shades in the bedroom, it got pretty bright early in the morning. We were always up early I’m so it didn’t really affect us. I also wish it had mentioned in the listing that it is on a dirt road. Not terrible, but I have a higher end vehicle with very low profile tires and that worried me a little. Vast majority of vehicles would be totally fine, I was fine in the end, but that’s definitely something worth noting. Other than that I absolutely loved everything!

Perfect family getaway!

This house far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we drove in, we knew this place was special. The lake was front and center and there were no neighbors within view. We walked into the house and we fell in love with the layout. My husband and I traveled with our 2 teenage children and it gave all of us the space we needed and then some. The pictures truly didn’t do this place justice as the ceilings were very high and it felt much larger in person than in the pictures. Everything was very clean and the check-in and check-out process was a breeze. I highly recommend this hidden treasure on Long Lake and look forward to returning again and again!

Delightful spot for a peaceful vacation

We spent a week at the house in July and loved the gorgeous view, clean water, and cozy accommodations. At the end of the dock the water is deep enough to jump in and not touch the ground. The swim raft provided hours of fun for kids ages 3 to 10 (plus adults). We were able to dock a pontoon boat and there’s also a mooring. We used the canoe to explore Long Lake and the kids loved all the toys in the playhouse. The living room/kitchen area is well stocked and open. Each bedroom has a bathroom. The two en-suite bathrooms look recently renovated and include multiple shower heads. Water pressure is great! We loved waking up to beautiful views to nature through the big windows. The house feels private; it’s off a private road and wooded all around. Highly recommend!

Wonderful family vacation

I grew up in Maine and my family all still live there. This year we decided to do a family vacation together and were fortunate enough to find this charming lake front rental. From the second we booked the rental we had exceptional communication with the owners. They were so responsive and answered all of my (many) questions. The cabin itself is so adorable, welcoming and comfortable. It was so perfect for our combined family of 7. We loved the open concept living and it made for fun times playing board games and doing our own karaoke night! My 7 year old son thoroughly enjoyed the dock and lake, staying in the water from morning to night every day and then smores around the fire pit each evening. We hope to spend many summers here on the future!

Quite simply, it's the best spot on Long Lake for sunsets. You have a clear view of Mt. Washington. There is plenty of room for both waterskiing and tubing. The public beaches are at either end of this ten mile long lake, but few boats make it all the way to the middle, so it's pretty quiet most of the time. There is lots of room on the dock for fishing, running and jumping off, or sitting and sipping.

It's a cook's dream of a tiny kitchen. We have a wonderful collection of cooking vessels, all essential gadgets, and a fine collection of Maine-made pottery. Table linens and accessories allow you to set a beautiful table. With both tables extended, you can seat 14. We have also been making it more handicap friendly. The dock has railings and steps, rather than a ladder, for ease of getting in the lake. There is a lift/recliner in the common area, and all toilets are standard height. There is a little playhouse that can have running water when a hose is connected.
