Relax, reset, recharge at a cozy lakeside Southern Living cottage. You'll love our place because of its private setting. Surrounded by nature and lake views, come spend time with your family while fishing, hiking, kayaking or just relaxing on the wrap around porch.

The Cottage on Golden Pond is the main house on a 6 acre property that also has 1 RV campsite with W/E/S Hookups. So invite your RV camping friends or family!
The RV site will not be booked during your stay unless you book it.

Pamela was kind enough to welcome us into her beautiful lake house! The home was very clean, the beds were very comfortable, she gave us fresh sausage & eggs for our first morning breakfast. We had a very nice view of the lake. Check-in & out….very easy. The house/property was as described. If we are ever in the area again….we would not hesitate to reserve this little piece of heaven!

This listing is PERFECT!…. It was very clean, with plenty of space. Comfy beds. Lots of towels. The dock is great for morning coffee, and the paddle boards/kayaks were a nice touch. The hosts left us with coffee, and biscuits/eggs/sausage for breakfast one morning - which was very nice!The location was only about 20 mins from Gadsden, and Rainbow City was only about 10 mins away, and had everything you’d need (we even DoorDash’d dinner one night).I would DEFINITELY recommend this listing!

The home is so wonderful! We didn’t want to leave and have been talking about it since. Coming from CA we don’t see country living like this and being able to wake up to the quiet lake and enjoy the peace is invaluable. I stayed with my boyfriend who is a widower. I am a widow. As you can imagine we need time to collect ourselves, pray, and re-energize to keep fighting the fight. This place did just that. Coming back for spring break with my kids.

Best stay ever at any VRBO property!

The property was beautiful, spotless, and straight out of a magazine. Ever conceivable detail was taken care of. The kitchen was STOCKED. I could have hosted a dinner party for 50 guests without breaking a sweat. The kids enjoyed the flying disc, hula hoops, and giant chess set along with giant Jenga. The lake was relaxing and a great place just to chill out. There is not a hotel anywhere to rival the amenities and ambiance of this property. We will be back. I may chain myself to the front door and have to be forcibly removed next time!

Family wedding trip

We stayed five nights to attend wedding festivities for my daughter in Ohatchee. The home was exceptionally comfortable and within a few steps of the lake. The view is enough to enjoy a stay without ever leaving the property. Owners are amazing and easily accessible to answer questions. Check in and check out was “easy-peazy” as a wise woman said. I would go back if only to recharge and refresh. A fully stocked kitchen was dreamy for a cook.

I booked this charming lake house for my weekend reunion with my sister, my mother and my aunt. Even though it was raining outside, we truly had a great time. The lake view was beautiful. We enjoyed watching the birds and fishermen in their boats while we talked for hours on the back porch. We even spent a hour talking on the dock under the roof. We all slept well on the beds. We ate every meals in the kitchen without going out. The grill was super easy for me to use to cook the hamburgers. Every room was cozy and clean. If you look for a Southern home, this is the one. Our host Pam did a great job on spoiling us. We will come back for this lake house in the near future.

Perfect getaway!

Pam and Tom have created such a fantastic space. We felt right at home from the first step. Everything was extremely beautiful and clean and ready for us to enjoy. Adding in some treats in the fridge and the rest of the pantry was very thoughtful and made us feel so touched. Paddleboarding and kayaking in the river and just spending time in the backyard were our favorite ways to spend time there. There were so many small details that can't be listed, but totaled to an absolutely one-of-a-kind weekend. Thank you for opening your home to us and helping us create a lovely and memorable experience! We would definitely love to return someday!

Just book already- it’s Lake Paradise

We had the most magical time at this perfect lake house getaway. The entire home, inside and out has 99% of any of whatever “stay away from home” amenities you will need, like coffee to get your first day started, sound machines, Alexa’s if you want them, popcorn for the movie night w projector lake front, 3 different kinds of laundry soap for goodness sakes. Pam’s got you covered :) The home was so beautiful I was just worried my kids would ruin it lol they didn’t :) But seriously it looks and felt like out a home sweet home magazine. We spent most of the day outside on the dock fishing or paddle boarding. We also played chess on the giant chess board, relaxed Lake side in the hammock and explore it outside, made the most beautiful family memories. Pictures really do not do it justice! Thank you Pam and Tom for thinking of everything and for sharing your beautiful home with us. We truly were so blessed to have stayed here and hope to return soon.

I chose this charming house for my reunion with my sister, my aunt and my mother. We celebrated my mother’s 79 birthday party. The hostess did a great job at making us feel my very much at home. She decorated all three bedroomsChristmas . The house was super clean and the beds were comfortables.. The location was peaceful This hostess deserves 10 stars
Dock was an amazing place to relax and enjoy the Lake view.
