Ghosted by owner. Stood in street for hours
I booked months in advance for a nine night stay for my elderly parents. At the appointed checkin time I had not received the check-in details. I messaged and phoned the owner on the number provided to find the number disconnected. Stayz were also unable to contact the host. They offered to cancel and refund our booking. My parents and I were left in the street for hours after 36 hrs of travelling. Trying to find accommodation for 9 days in peak season was a nightmare and the outcome was extremely disappointing. We later noticed someone else in the apartment so it had obviously been rented out to others from another booking platform. Do not risk it. The owner didn’t have the decency to let us know, even a day in advance, of the double booking. We were completely ghosted. This was a really traumatic experience that impacted my parents’ health and ruined a long awaited visit to see their grandchildren.
