Looking for accommodation near downtown New Braunfels? Look no further than Opa Seidel's Haus! This charming 1940s-era cottage is situated directly across the street from Schlitterbahn and just one block from the Comal River, making it the perfect spot for a fun-filled vacation. You can spend your days floating down the river and then relax back at the house, or head to Schlitterbahn for a day of excitement, come back for lunch, and then head out again for more fun in the sun. The house is fully furnished with linens, towels, cooking utensils, a washer/dryer, and wireless internet. In the living room, you can watch your favorite movie or sports team on the TV. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the cooking supplies, from bowls to utensils. Or, if you prefer, you can choose to barbecue outside on the charcoal grill. The house can comfortably accommodate up to four people, with two cozy bedrooms, each furnished with a Serta iComfort queen-size mattress.

Just so you know, Opa Seidel's Haus is located next door to Oma Seidel's Haus, which can accommodate up to 8 people. If you have a larger group of up to 12 people, you may be able to reserve both properties for your visit. Don't miss out on everything these homes have to offer!

Great little cottage - great location

We rented this little cottage for a weekend to spend some time at Schlitterbahn and tubing on the river. Everything was clean, check in was easy and the location was perfect.

My family stayed here for a family weekend to float the river and we had a fantastic time. Although the house is small, it was very comfortable for a family of four and was a perfect accommodation for our trip. It is directly across the street from Schlitterbahn and can walk to the entrance from this house. Owner was very accommodating and offered great communication. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to come float the river.

Perfect Location

Very clean and well-kept little house! This house is directly across the street from Schlitterbahn, super easy access. Also a short walk to the city chute on the Comal and a few blocks away from the last public exit. Great spot to stay in walking distance for activities and places to eat.

Great River Trip

Clean house, easy check-in/check-out process. Plenty of room to enjoy outdoor games, nice living space, and comfortable furniture. Super easy to get to the river and <5 minute walk from Comal river exits, if you are going to float! Location is prime, directly across from Schlitterbahn and again SO close to river exits.

Great location, clean

We stayed at the Opa Seidel house in June for two days as part of a family vacation to Schlitterbahn. It was very convenient being across the street from the East entrance. The house had all the essentials including a washer/dryer on site, which was critical with the river water stink. The beds were comfortable and we used the pull out couch too. House was clean and tidy. The carport was also nice for loading/unloading. Would definitely stay again!

Weekend getaway

We had a great experience at the Opa cottage, I was super impressed with the cleanliness! The cottage was small but perfect for our smaller group the house was packed with everything you may need. The location was prime for our day trip at Schlitterbahn. One thing I would note is that it’s shared parking you only have two spaces which wasn’t a problem since we only had two cars this trip. We will definitely return and are excited to see about renting both properties for our next family trip.

Great Stay

German getaway

We had a great weekend stay in New Braunfels for Wurstfest. The house was quaint and walking distance to many shops and restaurants in the area. There was a little difficulty in getting the door unlocked initially, however the issue was resolved and the rental manager was responsive in communications.

Very cute and clean property

The owner was very welcoming and was always available with any questions. We were worried at first with Schlitterbahn being across the street, but ended up being good people watching :), and we did not have noise from the water park either. Great spot!

Location, Location, Location

Beautiful little cottage, immaculately clean and literally steps away from Schlitterbahn Resort and other fine dining and activity choices. Given the location, it was quiet, peaceful and very relaxing. Loved the stay and will visit again soon.

Hello. My name is Christine Seidel, and I have been working as a Texas Realtor® since 1999. I am currently semi-retired and only work for my family. My husband, John, encouraged me to pursue a career in real estate, and in February 2003, I opened my own real estate company called Seidel Properties and Resort Management Company. In 2012, I sold the company to my big brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Dinah.
Since Covid and Snow-vid, I've been feeling a bit bored and decided to return to the vacation/resort business again with our personal properties in New Braunfels and Aggieland (Bryan, TX). I remain active with my volunteer work with different organizations such as the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce, Comal County Emergency Service District #7 (ESD7), Braunfels Foundation Trust, Leadership New Braunfels, New Braunfels City University, National Association of REALTORS, and Texas REALTORS.

In my free time, I love playing tennis, hanging out by the lake, spending time outdoors, taking my dogs for a ride in "their jeep," and enjoying the company of family and good friends. I believe in enjoying life to the fullest.

The location is just a few steps away from the Schlitterbahn Waterpark in New Braunfels, TX.
Willkommen (Welcome) to New Braunfels, where rivers flow freely, People play, and the Sun is Hot in the Summer.
I have owned vacation overnight rentals since 1999 and my own management company since 2005. At one point in my management career, I managed close to a hundred condos and homes for people all over the United States. My goal was to retire when I hit a hundred properties and sell my company. I did just that: I traveled and worked my “real job” selling real estate. I left four of my resort overnight homes with the new management company until 2020, when I got bored and needed something to do. That’s when I decided to start Vacations by Seidel Properties and manage my properties. I like meeting people, talking with them on the phone, or even just sending text messages. I think the guests like the connection of knowing someone cares about them staying in my home. This is why I do what I do, and Vacations by Seidel Properties is what it is.
So come, play in our Rivers, swim in our Lakes, or Relax and Enjoy our City.
