-> DOG FRIENDLY & my two sons have a dog walking business and would be happy to take acre of your furry family member for you!
-> Kitchen transformed to fully functioning kitchen with all new appliances - full-size fridge, full-size Range & Dishwasher added 2022
-> Less than a mile on easily walkable or bikeable tree-lined, sidewalk’d, residential streets to downtown Durham: farmers market, shopping, library, art museum, restaurants and night life.
-> Apartment itself was renovated in 2021 with brand new bathroom and kitchen. Wall of windows in the sunny kitchen/living room.
-> Includes microwave, toaster and coffee maker.
-> Bedroom has a queen bed and is moody and cozy.
-> Apartment has private entrance, private patio and private parking.
-> View from bedroom, living room and patio is of green grass and mature trees.
-> Owner lives in attached house separated from apartment by storage room (hard to hear sounds between two residences).
-> Washer/ dryer available on same level - in garage
-> ** I wash all linens whether used or not INCLUDING COMFORTER every.single.time!!! **

A comfortable stay

We enjoyed our stay at this home. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. We had a little trouble with the door, but the owner was very responsive. The bed was comfortable. The shower was excellent. TV reception was spotty at times. The owners we’re very helpful.

Quiet Safe Neighborhood

My main priority was finding a quiet place good for sleeping, and this rental provided that. The bed was comfortable, the owner who lives above, was away most of the time, so it was very quiet. Parking was off street, and Sheila left towels, coffee and breakfast items for our first morning. The decor was shabby chic. The neighborhood was quiet, safe, and approximately 2 miles walk to downtown Durham. The negatives for me, we could not control the heating and placed a couple of texts to owners to adjust, but then just attempted to adjust by covering heating vents, or using extra blankets depending on temperature. Also, the wi-fi was spotty, Sheila indicated the modem had been turned off by accident, but the TV and WiFi was still slow. The lock on the door was also challenging, as Sheila said “put your hip into it” to get the door to lock. The property was cute and worked for our purpose.

Our twins were graduating from Duke. Great location. Easy in and out. Great communication. Will return when the grads are in grad school!

Weekend Getaway

My husband and I had a nice stay at this property. It is very quaint and decorated nicely. It’s all we needed for the weekend. The bed was comfortable and the sheets smelled so clean! You cannot really hear the family in the adjoined home. You only hear occasional footsteps. So that was good. WiFi was a bit difficult to work on our devices but that was not a necessity for us as we were trying to escape the crazy of life. Sheila was easy and wonderful to work with. She was very helpful and responsive. Overall, this was a fantastic place to stay.

Perfect Place to Recover

A friend needed a place to recover from surgery and this gem was the perfect place. It was more space than a hotel room and as comfortable as home. Sheila and her husband were the perfect hosts and very accommodating for our arrival and departure. Definitely a perfect place to stay!

Beautiful oasis of calm in the historic district

I loved my stay here. The apartment is gorgeously decorated and, although small, has absolutely everything you could possibly need for a luxurious getaway. I was working and trying to buy a property nearby and Sheila was a great host - very responsive to my needing good wifi, for example. I appreciated the quiet and calm to work during the day and being walking distance to a park as well as the historic downtown. The apartment is in a lovely quiet street - great for a morning or evening walk and it's very convenient to get into Durham or across to RTP. I'd highly recommend!

Wonderful stay

The space was great for our weekend visit! Small but perfect for two people, clean, and beautifully decorated. The property was also in a very cute, centrally located neighborhood, close to everything we did in Durham. Thanks for a great stay!

Great apartment in a friendly neighborhood

This stay was a a great place for walking to downtown Durham. It was decorated with relaxing shades of blue. Everything was very comfortable and made us feel so relaxed while in nc to celebrate our daughter’s UNC graduation!

Durham trip

Very nicely decorated apartment. We loved the living space inside and out. Especially enjoyed our hosts' attention to detail - we forgot a tie for an evening wedding and one was quickly loaned to us. And, we needed an HDMI cable to hook laptop to TV and that was also provided. Great place and wonderful location for Duke and downtown activites.

Perfect!

What a wonderful stay in Durham! I stayed here while studying for an important exam and it was perfect. Sheila was wonderful and great with communication. It’s very close to Duke University and all of the shopping/dining. It had its own private entrance with beautiful windows and the decor was beautiful. A nice, quiet neighborhood. It has everything you need and was very clean. The property has its own parking spot as well. I definitely recommend!

location, location, location

The apartment was perfectly located for our visit with family less that 1 mile away. It is in a lovely, quiet residential neighborhood. Although small it had everything that wee needed for our 5 night stay. Sheila was readily available to address anything that we needed. We will probably stay there again.

A cute apartment in downtown Durham.

Its very small, need more air circulation in the bathroom. Prefer that furnitures in a rental apartment are cozy and not a show room. Durham has mosquitoes during summer cant sit in the porch.

So convenient, adorable little studio.

This the studio is quite adorable, with a lovely little sitting outdoor space. Meant for 1 or 2 people, in a beautiful residential neighborhood, with easy access to downtown.

A perfectly idyllic stay

This property was a perfect fit, and a pleasure to stay at! It's tucked away in a quiet neighborhood next to Duke Park- a good landmark when you're trekking around on foot, and we especially loved how cozy this listing was. The apartment was stocked with everything you need and was very nicely decorated. Sheila was so wonderful to walk us through upon arrival, and give us a rundown on what all we could do while we were in the area. We loved how close it was to downtown Durham (only a 20min walk) to some great places to eat and drink!

Lovely stay in the heart of Durham

My boyfriend and I loved this quaint, romantic one bedroom property. It is adjacent to the owner’s home, and Sheila communicated with us ahead of time about our breakfast preferences, and stocked the kitchen perfectly for us. The price was reasonable for the location, and we easily Ubered to our destinations over the weekend. My boyfriend and I thought it was clever that Sheila also offered for visitors to purchase decor/furniture, and the place was very pleasing to the eye and comfortable. Thanks Sheila for a lovely stay!

I am an interior design working on residential properties in the Raleigh-Durham area. I worked for HGTV's Love It or List It as the design lead for 4 seasons when they were filming in the US. I also worked for the premier designer Heather Garrett for 2 years as a design assistant. My cottage is a staging environment for my design work and a place to host clients. I am happy to offer it to you for your travelling needs!

Quiet, well decorated, little home away from home. I have been told it feels European. Patio for enjoying the mild weather. Closest thing to staying in a little house without the cost of renting a whole house!
