Wonderful group who loved being right on the Back River and who actively enjoyed the site and the Boothbay Harbor events. It was a pleasure to host this group and I do hope you can return again!

Jamilah and her family were a complete delight. They enjoyed the site and the environs, checking in for suggestions along the way. Their interactions were always upbeat and warm. And they left the house in beautiful shape...the cleaning crew and I voted them in the 'Top Five' guest groups in 12 years of hosting. I'm delighted they will return and bring a bigger group next year!

I'm so glad that Scout enjoyed visiting and re-visiting the Fairy Walk, Piper loved swinging in 'the rainbow hammock' with her uncle, while listening to the bullfrogs in the pond and you all found perfect nooks on the property for quiet time. What a wonderful group…every member of this large party was friendly, interesting, beautifully connected with the others…and clearly enjoyed being here and attending the wedding that brought them all together. The organization of this group was superb…together they shared the completion of the final wedding details…right down to building the glorious multi-level white-with-blueberry wedding cake in the Farmhouse kitchen. And out again they went, the day after the wedding, to explore and enjoy the Boothbay peninsula. We hope they return again and again…it’s the kind of group that we love to host.

It was a pure pleasure to have you and your marvelous group here. Your enthusiastic texts along the way were great to hear and it was wonderful to be in touch when you had questions or comments. Thank you for taking such good care of the house and I do hope you can all return again!

Suzi and her familly generations were a complete delight to host. Communication along the way was timely and informative, filled with friendly comments. Once on site, every interaction with any member of the family was warm and kind. The same energy seemed clear amongst family members. This is a family that loves one another, loves being together and travels well. It was uplifting to meet them and I will welcome them back whenever they might return...again and again.

And it was obvious that you too loved the place. I am so glad. You brought wonderful, positive energy to every interaction and to your enjoyment of this site and the many fun things to do on it and in the greater Boothbay region. Do return here again if you can. You will be most welcome!

These two families meshed so beautifully as house and travel partners! Their energy was wonderfully positive and seemed endless…their curiosity about the property and environs was great and they seemed to perfectly balance contented time on site with adventures off site. Every interaction was a pleasure and it was a surprise delight to run into the whole group on one of my favorite hikes at LaVerna preserve in Round Pond! They took excellent care of the house and property and I look forward to having them return again and again.

Both Sharon and her husband Ben were great partners throughout the stay--friendly, responsive, great communicators. The family was dynamic and warm; the grandkids full of life and verve. I love the new name--the Rainbow House!! It was a delight to have them here...and to see the amount of love and connection amongst them as they enjoyed the site and the surrounding environment. We will all hope that COVID is mastered by next year and we can hold events with greater numbers on site. Fingers crossed!

This was an awe-inspiring family. They rented the estate for a week, to enjoy a shared vacation, followed by a love-filled wedding. The bride and groom's families arrived early and spent the week enjoying the site...swimming and paddling in the cove...biking and running on the back roads...exploring the Boothbay peninsula...visiting the world-famous Botanical gardens and planning the final details of the intimate wedding....such harmony and concerted organization! As the date grew near, the preparation for the wedding was a community event....everyone pitched in and helped, using their special areas of knowledge...setting up the tent and the tables, arranging the gorgeous flowers in the bride's colors--orange and yellow and purple...preparing the appetizers...organizing the caterers and musicians and officiant. Then it was time for the devoted father to walk his beautiful daughter down the slope to the pond, and into her husband's arms... an amazing success...an overwhelming vision of family love and loyalty...a truly memorable event for everyone who was involved... Thanks for choosing us, Kelli and John!

It is such a joy to host groups of friends and/or family at this beautiful site...and this family was particularlly delightful...full of interesting life stories, great questions, laughter and fun. The harmony amongst the four sisters and their spouses was inspirational...a great loving connection. They enjoyed time spent cooking and eating together--both in the kitchen and grilling on the back lawn--and wandering the grounds to the pond and the river, as well as voyaging to see the sights in the area--the Botanical Gardens, the shops and galleries of Boothbay Harbor, the nearby hiking preserves. They gathered and played games and laughed into the night in the Great Room...they really made the place their home away from home. It was a joy to watch them and to interact with them.

What an absolutely delightful group...8 women who share a love of nature, beauty, gardening, knitting, beading, talking and just plain having fun. Their love of being together and their enjoyment of the estate and the Boothbay peninsula was SO much fun to watch. They were full of positive energy, feedback and questions as I gave them the tour of the Farmhouse and of the estate; then they settled in and made it their own 'home away from home'. They reported later that they poked through all the shelves and drawers and found all the equipment they needed to make awesome dinners and brunches....then they served them with candlelight on the colorful dishes...and captured each event with cellphone or camera. I can only imagine what delight they bring to their families...all are Moms and 6 of the 8 each have two sons! I do hope this group returns again and again, at all seasons, to share their crafts and stories and enjoy the area. They are such a pleasure!

As all readers can tell, Marianne is a fountain of positive energy and love. She and her family were a joy to have at the Bold Colorful Life estate...from their teamwork making meals to their enjoyment of each other and the surroundings, every day was a celebration for this group. They planned outings and wandered the greater midcoast Maine area, then returned to enjoy the peace and quiet of the site each afternoon. They split up to pursue their different interests; then returned to share stories on the back porch or over a meal. I am so glad they chose Boothbay and this estate and hope they return again and again!

Angela and her ski buddies were a complete pleasure. Angela stopped by a couple of months before the group visit, to take a look at the property, and she and her husband were very friendly and interesting to speak with. I looked forward to having the group here and every interaction was a delight. Angela is very savvy about the world of rentals and I am honored that she so enjoyed her stay. We shared a laugh about the end of her review where she mis-typed her recommendation...but VRBO doesn't allow changing reviews, so her meaning will have to be understood from the context.
