Incredible property!! Home is spectacular! And the hosts could not be more hospitable and accommodating!! Love the home! The design is so great for entertaining with such perfectly appointed living spaces. And there are so many beautiful places to just sit and take in nature! Love everything about it and highly recommend it!!

Perfection

The pictures of the home and grounds do not do it justice. Perfect family getaway. The home was absolutely spotless and check in was effortless. Beautiful views, quiet and private, yet close and convenient to downtown.

Escape from Florida heat

What a beautiful and unique home with stunning views on every level of the house. Our two weeks flew by while we enjoyed the wonderful detail to attention in this home.

Perfect choice for our family

Amazing Property

This beautifully appointed home is in a spectacular setting with lake views from multiple perspectives. It had every comfort and convenience, while preserving the feel of a centuries old French chateau. The owner and the caretaker could not have been more accommodating. 5-star all around.

Peaceful and beautiful

The house is so elegant and the setting just gorgeous. Jani and Red made our stay easy and responded to our every need instantly. The kitchen was fully stocked and one of our favorite things was romantic dinners in the small secondary dining room with a fireplace overlooking the lake. Just perfect!

Interesting property. Nice touches to inspire a French Chateau feel. Staring to show some age. Main TV had an annoying Sony infomercial constantly interrupting programming. Some lamps did not work. Felt like we were under surveillance with all of the cameras. At the price one would think every detail would have been vetted before guest arrive. Otherwise, nice stay.

The most gorgeous house

Everything about the house and property is gorgeous. The house is full of European antiques, it’s so incredible. There is a view of the water out every window and the grounds are magical. You will feel like you’re at a summer house in Europe. The location is great, you are minutes from downtown Highlands. We will be back!

A fabulous combination of a beautiful, well-equipped home, gorgeous setting, close proximity to downtown Highlands, and gracious hosts in Jani and Red. The kayaks were a bonus enjoyed by all!

Wonderful stay

House was very well appointed. Plenty of towels great views. So close to town and many restaurants. Red the manager was very accessible and helpful. Bonus that you can you garage.

Dream Château with Million Dollar Views

This property is absolutely gorgeous in every way! I feel Very Blessed to finally be able to stay there for five days. We were celebrating a huge birthday and l enjoyed it more than words can express. Jani is so wonderful to work with and goes the extra mile to accommodate you and make sure your stay is everything you expect. Her property manager, Red, is just as nice and so happy to show you around upon your arrival. This VRBO delivers everything you see in the photos and certainly doesn’t disappoint. I am already looking forward to my next stay here. Thank you Jani for sharing the most beautiful home l have stayed in in Highlands.

This was by far the most beautiful house and property we have stayed in!

House and view are stunning. Lake Sequoyah is beautiful and peaceful. Close to Highlands and Cashiers - great food and shopping. Host and manager were fantastic to work with. We would love to go back!! Family all had a great time!

A Magical Property “Like No Other”

My family thoroughly enjoyed themselves at this property. The location was convenient to all the amenities of the Highlands. The time we spent together here created “new” family memories that will forever be in our minds. The entire property, inside and out was enjoyed by all. Everything was top shelf & our stay was quite delightful.... & “oh the shower”! The meandering path to the dock was scented with the smell of rhododendrons & the canoe and kayaks were a lot of fun. Jani & Red were very accommodating and our experience was quite “Epic”!

Incredible Property in Excellent Location!

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at La Chatelaine. The pictures online are beautiful, but you can't fully appreciate this property until staying there. We have been in the rental business ourselves for over 15 years, so I am extremely detail-oriented, and I must say, Jani has thought of absolutely everything. The home is so well supplied, and the kitchen is a chef's dream - so very high-end but functional - we enjoyed cooking a few meals in verses going out every night. Everything was spotless, and top quality from the fully stocked kitchen, to the beds and linens. The home itself is a work of art, truly stunning, and no detail has been missed architecturally. Every piece of furniture looks like it was made for this house specifically, and you will not run out of beautiful artwork, amazing photos, and great reads to admire and enjoy during your stay. The location is perfect, only a mile and a half from downtown. Such gorgeous views of the lake, I loved having my coffee and taking in that view!! Red (property manager) was as sweet and accommodating as could be - even helping with local suggestions on hiking trails, etc. Jani was the same - both made this such an enjoyable vacation. We have been to Highlands several times now, and this was our best trip yet. Perfect weather and perfect accommodations. We plan to be regular returning guests, if we can squeeze into Jani's packed reservation schedule! Thank You Jani and Red. You've done a beautiful job with this property - I hope everyone treats it with loving care and respect, and fully appreciates it's beauty.

A hidden gem on Lake Sequoyah

This was the perfect house for us this weekend. This house had everything: a well appointed kitchen, multiple seating areas, comfortable beds, an amazing view, sweet walking paths, a dock for fishing, and a pool table. This hidden gem was perfect for escaping the hustle of the city and reconnecting with family and nature.

Beautiful setting and experience

Everything was communicated professionally. John was personable and helpful. The location and vistas are incredible. This house is clearly a passion of the owner and all of us appreciated the variety of antiques and artwork. We will return.

Beautiful home!

We had such a wonderful time staying at this lovely home! The views of the lake and surrounding trees was beautiful. We played cards, watched football, and ate great food. The house, especially the kitchen, was well stocked and had everything we needed. We will be staying here again!

A Place with Soul

This home is magnificent in every way: Location is near town, setting is serene and beautiful, home is set up so wonderfully, furniture and decor is perfect for a french chateau while being totally comfortable, everything you need is there - but the charm and character and soul of this home permeates the space. Beautiful chateau with amazing views

Wonderful property! Jani and Red were both very courteous and communicated in a timely fashion. The house has great views of the lake, tons of space, and is beautifully decorated. We really enjoyed the pool table and the kayaks on the lake. Short drive into town and all that Highlands has to offer. Definitely recommend and plan to stay here again.

An exceptional get-away!

This amazing home is in a perfect location, is very tastefully decorated, and has many quaint, comfortable places to relax and enjoy the view and peacefulness of the mountains. Kayaking around the lake and hiking nearby was a highlight. Jani and Red were very helpful and gracious hosts. We’ll be back.

Delightful

Everything about our stay was great. The house is elegant, well equipped and very comfortable. Gardens and lakefront so lovely to wake up to each morning and the kitchen great for cooking. Communication with property manager and owner was always immediate and extremely helpful. Enjoyed every minute!!!

Incredible Property

If you are booking in Highlands, look no further than this property. It was incredibly convenient and close to everything that we were doing (restaurants, hikes, waterfalls, kayaking on property, shopping). We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the absolutely beautiful property. Outside was like being at a secluded resort. We had an amazing stay. Will definitely be back!
