Excellent location. Nice quality apartment, generally well equipped although there were insufficient large mugs, (so we bought some and left them for other guests) and there were no racks in the oven (so you could only cook one large item at a time). Piano wasn’t there (disappointing). The two double beds were comfortable but the singles had poor quality mattresses that ought to be replaced. The shower was great and a bonus, as French holiday homes often have quite poor bathrooms. The keypad entry system was annoying and took time to get used to - an over complication when a basic key would’ve been better. The property manager was polite and helpful. The apartment was quiet with no external noise at night - not always something you can rely on in France. Location is ideal for walks, visiting historic sites (especially castles) and the countryside surrounding the town is lovely. The town is charming with friendly locals and useful shops and nice restaurants. Whilst the cost to rent the apartment was high, we were happy that it was reasonably good value, with none of the junk furniture that you are often lumbered with in French holiday rentals.
