There's so much to do at the retreat if you wish not to step out. Walk the trails, sit on a bench and gaze at the mountains, play a game of volleyball or one of the several outdoor/ indoor games provided, soak in the hot tub, or enjoy the sun and sunrises and sunsets! Ideal for friends and families looking to relax and enjoy time outdoors, this home and property offer a great escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. White Pines Rd is a private road, please maintain a speed of 10 miles/hour. The property gate is to your left after you pass 1st house.
To use the hot tub, flip the lid over the iron holder and push the holder away from the tub. To close, pull the holder over the tub and flip lid back.
Remember to lock all the doors and windows, turn off all lights, leave your trash bag on the porch. Please leave your trash bag outside on the porch.

The house was very clean inside. The hot tub was filthy and the grass outside was about 8" high. The Wi-Fi is very spotty, and we never could get the television to connect to it. There are no T.V's in the bedrooms, so bring your own and look under the Wi-Fi box near the kitchen for the correct Wi-Fi and password. The fire pit was great and if you have children, the basement has plenty of games. I did not love this place, but I didn't hate it either

We’re glad you found the house clean inside, enjoyed the fire pit, and that the basement games were a hit (especially as kids were part of the group). Those are always our favorite parts of the stay to hear about. We’re sorry the hot tub and yard didn’t meet expectations during your visit. We’ve already addressed both; the hot tub has been thoroughly cleaned and chemically balanced, and the lawn has been cut and is maintained. However, it being 10 acres; there's always brush in some areas under trees. Regarding the Wi-Fi and TV: the network name and password are posted under the router near the kitchen (as you noted) and also on a wall frame in the living room, and we’ve also added clearer instructions in the house guide. We’ve checked into the TV access and had no problems with the right User ID and password. You’re right that there are no TVs in the bedrooms; that’s by design for a more relaxed atmosphere and for our guests to enjoy the outdoors or the TV in the family room together. Overall we’re glad the stay wasn’t a negative experience, and we hope some of the updates we’ve made will make future visits even better. Thanks again for the thoughtful comments.

Wonderful mountain getaway

I had a wonderful few days at this great mountain retreat. The house was beautifully situated with a great view of the mountains, as well as so many stars in the night sky. We enjoyed the fire pit, as well as the hot tub, which was wonderful.

Gorgeous property!

Beautiful home with plenty of room for families on a 10-acre lot in a lovely, secluded area with a hot tub and firepit. Close to Luray Caverns and Shenandoah National Park. Rajeev is a great host, responded quickly to questions. We had a fantastic stay with family over the July 4 holiday.

This property is amazing. We met our extended family here for Thanksgiving and it was the perfect location. The kitchen is spacious and was well stocked with everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space for everyone. The kids loved playing volleyball and basketball outside. We used the fire pit one evening and then it got a bit too cold. We walked a few of the trails too. The road up to the house is unpaved but was easy to navigate. The location is perfect and close to downtown. We could not have asked for a better stay. We hope to be back again soon.

Overall we had a really good stay, the location is great, it has beautiful views and a great firepit. We had everything we needed, and the host was really responsible. However, we did have a few issues. Most of the outdoor features were in need of maintenance, for example hornets nests on the hot tub and grill, and the sand volleyball court was fairly overgrown. In general the house was clean, except for the basement bedroom was dusty and had mold in the closet.

Home is very nice with comfortable beds, much room and facilities. Weather did not permit use of outdoor spaces. It is in a very rustic setting, quaint but about 20 minutes and multiple single lane dirt roads from town. Kitchen has needed equipment, but short on glassware for the number of guests. Bathrooms worked fine and home was clean.WiFi code posted on VRBO was not updated but login was posted in a sitting room. TV was not connected but was not missed. It also only works with Apple phones for streaming.Fridge/freezer was new but did not work as expected. Owner was contacted and custodian for home arrived the next day. Unfortunately our stay was too short for situation to be resolved.

Everything we needed

Beautiful location and view. We had 3 adult men and three young teen age boys in our group. We stayed one night after kayak trip on Shenandoah river. Everything was great. No gas grill so remember to bring charcoal, there were two charcoal grills that we used, both in good condition. Hot tub was clean and pre-heated. House was clean and had everything we needed to feel comfortable.

Ideal Weekend Getaway!

We just came back from our weekend trip to Whitepines Retreat, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations! Rajeev was communicative throughout the process and really made sure that we had a seamless arrival and overall stay. The property is well-appointed with a number of great features such as a firepit, two charcoal grills, volleyball court, hot tub, two car garage, frog pond, and plenty of outdoor space to relax and enjoy the mountain views. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to decompress and enjoy a bit of the beautiful Virginia wilderness. Rajeev will be sure to make you feel welcome! We will definitely keep Whitepines Retreat in mind when booking our next weekend away - Or maybe even a longer stay next time!

Family vacation

We had a great time. The place was very spacious. My only concern was the light in the closet in the lower bedroom. It looked like there had been a short and should be looked at by an electrician. We told the grandkids not to turn on the lights and they didn’t. Other than that no problem. We would rent again.

The family had a great time. The location was secluded, just what we were looking for!

The property manager was very helpful with any questions we had. The home was large enough for our 6 adults two teens and three children to stay.

Great place, beautiful scenery

We arrived and had a little trouble getting in using the Bluetooth lock, but Rajeev responded immediately and solved the problem. Some past guests had left a full trash can (not where they were supposed to leave it) and the grills full of ash, but that's really the worst I have to say. The place is big and well laid out - lots of quiet spaces and group gathering spaces too. The beds are comfy. The access road is steep and twisty gravel road, but it is a relatively remote location in the mountains so that's not surprising. Drive slow and the neighbors will appreciate it. The scenery is gorgeous; you can see Stony Man, Little Stony Man, Hawksbill, Crescent Rock, Naked Rock, Skyland, and a bunch of other peaks on a relatively clear day. We found the house looking down from Stony Man summit too (with binoculars). We highly recommend the place for access to Shenandoah, George Washington National Forest, and Luray.

Pretty views…

The property was rested upon a beautiful mountain views, however the inside of the house could have been cleaner. We wish we could have enjoyed the hot tub which was as green as the pond out front.
