The Big Tatanka is the perfect place to experience the Ozarks. This gorgeous 2 story home sits on the bank of the White River at Buffalo Shoals in a private setting with walk in access to the river, allowing you to enjoy one of the most beautiful locations in the Ozarks. The Big Tatanka offers plenty of space to spread out and enjoy your stay. The home sleeps 15. The main level includes dining for 15, a full kitchen, a large great room, 3 full bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, and a deck overlooking the river. The lower level offers a 2-car garage, 2 bedrooms, 1 full bath, a large great room, foosball table, refrigerator, microwave, and patio. For the more adventurous types, the home is approximately 2 miles to a Buffalo National River hiking trail, approximately 6 miles to the Ranchettes public boat launch on the White River, and approximately 9 miles to a public launch access on the Crooked Creek. We would be happy to connect you with some local guide services if you have a desire to book a guided fishing trip while staying with us.

Great property. This was my 2nd stay here and I'll definitely be back again. Very secluded area of the river with beautiful views. We had a guys' weekend and we all had plenty of room and privacy, but this location would be great for 2-3 families as well. Great hosts with clear communication and timely response for any questions.

Great place for multiple families. We had 11 men gather for trout fishing on white river. Plenty of beds bathrooms and very nice kitchen. Also plenty of seating for eating or visitin. Great location for everything. Very private, but also close to town. Highly recommend this place for anyone. Host was very responsive and helpful. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful setting

A little out of the way, but within a few minutes of our arrival we understood that it would all be worth it. Our family ranged in ages between 4rs to 77 years and all thought it had been a wonderful choice.

Our Happy Place

Our stay was so good! We love this property and are already planning our 3rd visit! The house is perfect! We love everything about it! Sandy is amazing and is just a phone call away if you need anything. The river was too high for wade fishing outback this time, but our fishermen went to Cotter and all three of them hit their limit! Needless to say we had the very best fish tacos I have ever had! There is just something about eating fish caught that day!Sandy, we are looking forward to many more trips to “Our Happy Place.”

Buffalo Shoals Getaway

This is an excellent property for family retreats. It's just the right size for our family of 12. The house and amenities are great and the river views beautiful. This was our third year there and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay each time. The owners are wonderful, gracious people.

This was a great location for a guys trip getaway. Plenty of room to accommodate our group. This is a unique stretch of river that provides great scenery and seclusion. The host was great with communication and had the place looking great inside and out. Can't wait to come back!

Great Family Getaway

Peaceful and perfect for families

We came to Flippin to relax, kayak, and do a little fishing. We had 4 adults, a teen, and an 11 yr old. This home was the perfect set up. We had plenty of room to let the kids play around and the adults relax. Sandy was a great host from check-in to check- out. She made sure we had everything we needed, answered questions we had about the river access, and even came out to make sure everything was okay after a storm. We have only good things to say about our stay!

Eclipse Trip

My wife and I along with our 3 kids, my sister, her husband and their 2 kids, and my parents, all met here for a sat-tuesday long weekend with the monday eclipse being the highlight. We wanted somewhere a little off the beaten path and this spot was perfect! Large, clean house, plenty of room to accommodate the 11 of us. So very peaceful and quiet. Beautiful view right on the white river, several bald eagle spotting's every day we were there so bring some binoculars if you have them. Kitchen stocked with all the necessities, a grill out back, cornhole, the girls enjoyed the rock painting garden, firepit was great. Walk in river access was very nice. Love that there was not much else around the property but a short 20-40 min drive to stores if needed and some good hiking. Would recommend the Indian Rock Trail hike, it was about a 45 min drive from the property. Overall, loved the place with plenty of privacy and quiet surroundings. And the eclipse was amazing of course!! Sandy was excellent host and had great communication with anything we needed. Would definitely come back!!

The River Retreat

As last year, the house was perfect for our group. The weather cooperated this year, so we were able to more fully enjoy the property playing Baggo and enjoying the fire pit and smores at night. The river view is spectacular. I could just sit on the deck or gazebo and enjoy the running waters. Excellent VRBO location. Owners have provided everything you could need and are such nice people.

Lovely White River Location

We have a large family and celebrated Thanksgiving on the White this year. We had plenty of room for all. And it was a perfect kitchen (well stocked with pots/utensils) for cooking. We loved being on the river for fishing and exploring and used the fire pit for s'mores! Really great place and host were very helpful.

Perfect Vacation Home on White River

This lovely property on White River is amazing. Everything about it was simply perfect and I’m not exaggerating. From breathtaking views from the balcony to having a lot of beds and sofas and games…this house have it all. Sandy and Scott are amazing people and we hope to be back to their place again.
