Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay while sitting by the stream. Close to many hiking and mountain biking trails. If you like to fish or enjoy time by the water there are many lakes near by. 25 minutes from Harrisonburg and JMU. Close to natural chimney campground. 20 minutes from the West Virginia line. Also has a covered deck with a outdoor bar and a TV. Hot tub conveniently located right off from the bar and deck. Inground pool is open March 20th-September 30th and is heated to approx 80F! Hot tub is open year round!

Cabin by the Creek

We really enjoyed our stay at the Cabin by the Creek! The house was even better than pictured. It was very clean and was well equipped. We were in town for JMU graduation and would definitely stay again if we are back in the area.

The location was excellent , there is plenty to do at the cabin to entertain friends and family.

The stay was very relaxing , it has a nice hot tub , the cabin has a deck so nice that you will want to spend hours out there just relaxing , we’re already talking about renting it again,

The home was great, location amazing, outdoor space was incredible, hot tub was awesome, proximity to trails was great, the amenities were superb!Biggest issue was having trouble with wrong codes, the door lock not working the entire trip, and also the contact information in VRBO being outdated and going to wrong landline.

This cabin nestled in the woods has everything you need for an unforgettable stay - from the amazing deck and hot tub to the large great room and loft with a Nintendo switch, the cabin is a true gem! The decorating is well done, the beds are super comfy, and the cabin is immaculate. Being along a stream and close to hiking trails was an added bonus. We would return in a heartbeat! Thank you Brandon for all your communication and hospitality!

Great Place for Graduation Weekend

The place was beautiful - inside and out. Perfect for the 5 of us. We enjoyed the deck, fire pit, and walking on trails nearby. Property owner very responsive before and during trip. Highly recommend this place!

Perfect graduation weekend

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Beautiful, charming house in a serene forest setting! It was the perfect place...close enough to get to and from Harrisonburg for our daughter's JMU graduation events but also a homey, restful gathering spot for family to celebrate away from the crowds.

Fantastic week away

We stayed at and loved the cabin. It was in a great spot for us to head out on a number of nearby hikes, quick in to Dayton, Bridgewater or Harrisonburg. The house is immaculate and so well decorated. Brandon and Shania were so thoughtful with the snacks they left outoo.

Our Stay

Your home is cozy and well equipped for a rental. Everything we needed was available to us. All of our inquiries were promptly handled. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. We’ve rented a lot of vacation homes and this is probably by far the best one yet! We will be back! Thank you again for a lovely weekend!

Beautiful Cabin Surrounded by Nature

We thoroughly enjoyed this beautifully decorated and well stocked cabin. Hosts have thought of every convenience. The space was clean, comfortable, and inviting, both inside and out. Was a prefect retreat for JMU Family Weekend and a scenic drive to/from Harrisonburg. Hope to return for a longer stay!

They Thought of Everything

What a wonderful stay! They thought of everything. We brought our dachshunds and there was even a baby gate to block the stairs. There was firewood for the wood stove, wonderful smelling candles, snacks, and a well stocked pantry. Thank you for a wonderful visit!

Amazing!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the cabin! Very clean! Beautifully decorated. Loved the porch & the sound of the creek. We enjoyed smores by the fire. Close to town. Overall a great experience!

Beautiful house in the woods

We stayed here for a weekend while moving my son into JMU. It was a close 25min drive to campus. The house was even better than the pictures. It is beautifully furnished with many thoughtful touches for guests. Comfortable memory foam beds and new furniture throughout the house. We were able to hike right from out front door. We loved this house and will look to stay here again.

Great Getaway!

My husband and I stayed for 5 nights to celebrate our anniversary and had a wonderful time. The cabin is private, spacious and very clean with all the necessities. The property is quiet and although the “main” road runs next to it, there was very little traffic and felt safe for our pups. The stream was pretty low but we did manage to find a few swimming holes for the dogs to frolic in. We enjoyed exploring the surrounding towns and nearby hiking trails along with the hot tub, fire pit and other amenities on the property. Highly recommend!!

Lovely cabin, incredible porch and yard by a creek!

We chose this cabin for the location (mountain bike from the cabin!) right at the edge of the GWNF, but it was so much more! The porch is perfect to enjoy your morning coffee or evening beer. The house is super clean and well stocked with everything you need - paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, spices. It's so nice to not have to worry about packing (or forgetting) all that stuff! Easy check in and communication with the host. We will definitely be back!

Clean, cozy, easy, heaven!

The cabin was roomy with lots of light, a fabulous kitchen, and lots of cozy rugs and blankets. Perfect for a spring break getaway with our family of 4. The upstairs carpeting is super soft and feels brand new. The hot tub right on the river was amazing! Only surprise was that the cabin is right on the main road, which isn't clear from the pictures. Also, there was someone target-practicing with a gun not far away, which was a little disconcerting (and very loud) while enjoying the hot tub. Everything else was so perfect though that these things only slightly detracted from our stay. Brandon and Shania have put so much thought and care into creating a welcoming, comfortable environment. We all agreed it was one of our best family vacations ever.

What a gem cozy cabin is at the base of a Magnificent forest. So cleverly designed to get maximum use of space both inside and out. It was the perfect retreat for Our family during a busy graduation weekend. The drive back and forth is long at 30 minutes, but the retreat and experience well Worth it

Relaxing Getaway

The cabin was decorated beautifully and had everything we needed. The deck had a wonderful covered bar area with tv, music tower, and fire pit! All aspects of a relaxing and enjoyable weekend away. Minor issues were immediately addressed by property owner and he was very friendly and helpful before and during our stay. Highly recommended!!
