Ocean Views, Harbor Walks & a Private Hot Tub

The Captains Lookout is a dog-friendly, three-bedroom, 2.5-bath townhome in Depoe Bay, Oregon, that sleeps up to six guests. Wake to ocean views, walk to the harbor and local restaurants, then return to a comfortable coast home with room to gather and room to spread out.

The king primary suite is upstairs, with broad water views, a sitting area, binoculars and a spotting scope for watching boats, wildlife, and seasonal gray whales. Its private bath includes a deep soaking tub for a quiet end to a full day on the coast.

The main level is the heart of the home. Cook together in a well-equipped kitchen with a gas range, dishwasher, breakfast bar, cookware, and dining space. Settle in beside the gas fireplace, use the Smart TV with your own streaming accounts, or step onto the deck for ocean air, sunsets, and dinner from the gas grill.

Downstairs, a queen bedroom and a full bedroom share a full bath with shower. The separate TV and gaming area gives kids, friends, or a second couple their own place to unwind.

Outside, enjoy deck seating and the included private six-person hot tub on the lower patio, with privacy curtains for a more relaxed soak.

Walk to Depoe Bay Harbor, restaurants, shops, the Whale Watching Center, and charter boats. The home is also a convenient base for nearby beaches and viewpoints, plus day trips to Newport, Lincoln City, and the Central Oregon Coast.

Strong Wi-Fi, a laptop-friendly workspace, Smart TVs, washer/dryer, beach chairs, and parking for up to three vehicles are included. Dogs are welcome with advance approval and an additional fee.

Please note: this is a three-level townhome with three steps at the entry. Bedrooms are above and below the main living level, and the main level has a half bath only. The home is not wheelchair accessible.

Fantastic property! We had four adults and a small dog. The property was perfect for us and met all our needs. Absolutely no road noise. Beautiful view! We cooked, put a puzzle together, used the hot tub and enjoyed the time together. We had an emergency with our car over a holiday weekend. The owner is local and was extremely helpful with a referral to a mobile mechanic. I wish I could take that mechanic home with me! Overall, a very positive experience. We will be back!

The view and hot tub

We had a short stay at this property. It was nice, close to whale watching and shops. The hot tub was wonderful and the top floor master suite was beautiful with an amazing view.

The home is beautiful,well stocked and very clean! Only downside is the view of the Travelodge right next door, but otherwise stunning views from the master bedroom. We had an amazing time and will be back again!

Very nicely decorated. Clean and comfortable. Having the garage was nice. We didn’t travel with a dog but we appreciated that the home had pet covers for furnishings because it meant there wasn’t dog hair from previous visitors.

First off, the house was clean. Like you could tell a cleaning company had been there clean which in my mind deserves 5 stars alone. The hot tub was clean and hot and the jets were wonderful. The hot tub area has curtains to make it more private and keep out the wind. The kitchen was well stocked and had a coffee pot, water filter in the fridge and new dishwasher. Laundry was easy to start as well with provided pods which was amazing.

Well maintained, thoughtfully curated property.

My brother-inlaw & his friend were visiting… they have strict vegan diets… so having a good kitchen was a must… My husband & I love seafood so being two blocks from Tidal-Raves kept us happy… great food & cocktails and brother coukd munch on twigs & nuts to his delight!

Our girlfriend’s trip to the Pacific Northwest was only made better by our beautiful accommodations. It’s clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The hot tub was the cherry on top. We will definitely return.

Excellent location. Near restaurants, coffee, shops, etc

Lovely home with all important amenities. Master bedroom has a gorgeous view of the ocean. We used the grill to prepare dinner and the propane ran out mid cooking. I contacted owners and they were at our door within 7 minutes with a replacement tank. We will definitely stay again.

Wish I was still there

The ocean view was incredible, particularly the sunsets! Although there's a Travelodge behind the house, at night the house is quiet and dark. The house is just a few blocks from whale-watching spots, and you can stroll along the waterfront. If you use the hot tub and have dogs, be aware that the hot tub area has a corner that is unsecured, so dogs will need to be leashed and attached to something so they don't go exploring in the neighborhood. Had a wonderful time.

We booked, according to the map on VRBO, although i didn't look at the address til we were going there that day. Aparently, the map shows the location of the office. it was in a different locations and thats why we booked it. It wasn't where we thought, but the view from the top floor was pretty good. House was very clean. Kitchen had all tools for cooking except things like oil, flour, sugar. Never been in a vrbo without all those things. Over all happy except the location.

The Captains Lookout is built for the way groups actually travel. The main level gives everyone a place to cook, eat, relax by the fireplace, and enjoy the deck. The upper king suite offers a quiet ocean-view retreat, while the lower queen and full bedrooms, full bath, and separate TV and gaming area give kids, friends, or a second couple their own space.

The location is equally important. Walk to Depoe Bay Harbor, restaurants, shops, the Whale Watching Center, and charter boats instead of driving every time you want to do something. Add the included private six-person hot tub, dog-friendly stay, and parking for three vehicles, and this is a real coast getaway—not just a place to sleep.

The Captains Lookout is arranged across three levels, giving your group room to be together without being in the same space all day.

Main level: Kitchen, dining area, gas fireplace, Smart TV, half bath, and deck. This is the natural gathering space for meals, movie nights, coffee, and watching the bay.

Upper level: King primary suite with water views, a sitting area, binoculars, spotting scope, and a private bath with a deep soaking tub.

Lower level: One queen bedroom, one full bedroom, a full bath with shower, and a separate TV and gaming area.

Outdoor areas: Main deck with seating and gas grill; lower patio with an included private six-person hot tub and privacy curtains.

Dogs are welcome with advance approval and an additional fee.

Important access note: There are three exterior entry steps. Bedrooms are above and below the main living level, and the main level has a half bath only. The home is not wheelchair accessible.
