The Brewhouse Cottage

The Brewhouse Cottage has a fascinating history, situated on the grounds of the Bayou Teche Brewery & the Cajun Saucer in Arnaudville La. It is approximately 400 sq foot and was built by a barge that floated down the Bayou Teche carrying goods to locals. The solid walls keep it peaceful and quiet, while the original wood floors add to its charm.

At the front of the cottage is a long porch with two Adirondack chairs, perfect for enjoying the music from the brewery while sipping a cold beverage. Across the street is Arts Coffee, the original brewery where the coffee is still roasted, and you may be able to enjoy its wonderful aroma from the porch.

Inside, you'll find a modern kitchen with a 3/4 sized refrigerator and two frozen glasses in the freezer. The dining area has two antique chairs, and we ask that you take care to preserve them. Please also refrain from frying foods inside the cottage as odors can be difficult to remove from such a small space. There is a barbecue pit on the porch that you can use instead.

The sitting area has two comfortable glider rockers for relaxing and watching TV on the wall mounted smart TV, with access to Dish Network, Netflix and Amazon. After a long day, enjoy a hot shower in the large walk-in shower and then slip into the cozy full-sized bed. The furniture has been specifically chosen for the size of the cottage, allowing you to move around comfortably and even have guests over.

Quiet spot for a short stay

Very comfortable and quiet spot for my trip with a great brewery/pizza shop right next door. Everything needed was within a short drive. Would happily stay again if I go back to the area!

Wonderful Cabin

We loved staying in The Brewhouse Cottage! Being right across the lane from the brewery is wonderful, and the cabin was nice and quiet at night. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. We’ll certainly be back!

Great time and amazing house!

I really enjoyed the prompt and quick communication with the owner. Check in was an absolute breeze with no issues at all! The house is very well appointed and very well decorated! Plenty of room if you want to have family over to visit. Plus it's right next to the brewery and pizza place. Had a wonderful time. Would absolutely stay here again!

Perfect Adult Get Away

Cozy little spot, perfect for a couples get away. The brewery across the street is fun, has great pizza and cocktails and an overall youthful vibe. We were able to relax and enjoy a little slower pace of life.

Fun place to stay

With its location across from Bayou Teche Brewery, it’s hard not to have fun while staying here. Cottage was small but plenty large enough for a couple. We enjoyed the front porch and country setting. Hosts were accommodating and prompt with check in, etc. Great place for a short get away.

The Perfect Getaway!

This was a perfect place for my sister and me to stay while visiting family nearby. We enjoyed the coziness and amenities of the cottage, including special touches like fresh-baked cookies, amazing coffee, and breakfast snacks. The location and atmosphere can't be beat - we had so much fun taking advantage of the brewery, pizza place, live music, front porch, and bayou views multiple time during our stay. I am definitely hoping to stay here again for another vacation!

Great local getaway

My favorite place to runaway when life gets to be too much. Great cottage with all the amnesties of home, the front porch is heaven, the brewery across the way is amazing, great food & beer and great ambience. So grateful I can runaway to here when need be. Ms Rinea & Mr Byron are the best hosts.

Wonderful Place

We had a wonderful time. Rinea greeted us when we arrived and she was super polite and showed us around. Was so relaxing sitting on the porch drinking the wonderful coffee they supply and listening to the birds. Having the Brewery right across the way along with The Cajun Saucer was wonderful. Beer and food were great. Would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a nice little getaway.

A little slice of heaven

The Brewhouse Cottage is adorable!! A friend of mine rented it in July and I fell in love with it. Much needed getaway with my girl friends. Love everything about this place plus the brewery across the road. Owners are such beautiful souls and so accommodating. Highly recommended this cottage and the brewery.

Wonderful Stay!!

I hesitate to write this review because I want to keep this cottage a secret. I have stayed many places but have never felt more welcome or had a better equipped rental. Everyone I met was pleasant and helpful. The location is fantastic. You are located near restaurants and historic sites but why leave such a relaxing place with a brewery across the lane, a front porch to enjoy the view and the music, and a bayou at the end of the property. Looking forward to my next stay.

Home Away From Home

Another great stay at my home away from home. I have stayed at the cottage several times throughout the last three years. It’s my go to when I need a place to escape the craziness of life. Rinea & Byron are the most amazing hosts. They go above and beyond to ensure that your time at the cottage is perfect. The brewery next door is a bonus. Great beer, food & atmosphere. This cottage will always be my home away from home. This time I shared it with a special person in my life and he absolutely loved it.

Fantastic stay and hosts!

I've stayed in many vacation rentals around the world, and you will be hard pressed to find a better place to stay than this. In the center of French speaking Cajun Bayou Teche, a few minutes from Arnaudville, and within feet from the great Bayou Teche brewery, it makes a perfect base from which to explore Cajun country. The hosts are part of the brewery family and are warm and helpful, and are often at their family friendly social events on the brewery's shaded patio. One thing to note: the Cajun music shows and Sunday jams are never late night, and so there is no loud music into the night. The Cajun Saucer pizza restaurant in the brewery is excellent, by the way. The only thing you hear at night are peaceful country bayou sounds of frogs and an occasional owl. Bring your kayak, since the Teche water trail is a few hundred yards down the lane. And the historic cypress cottage is so beautifully renovated and equipped that it pales anywhere else you'll stay again. I am a music journalist and a lover of food and history, and so I'll always stay at the brewhouse cottage when I visit (If I'm lucky to...but it is sure to be booked year round). Thank you so much for my stay, Rinea and Byron!

Byron Knott is owner & Rinea Blanchard is manager of The Brewhouse Cottage.
Byron is the head brewer for Bayou Teche Brewery. He is the middle sibling of the three Knott brothers, who all share in the creation of this fantastic destination brewery.
Rinea Blanchard owns Superior Contract Cleaning located in the nearby town of Scott La the Boudin Capital of Louisiana. She can usually be found next to Byron as you see here!

Brewhouse is located across the lane from Bayou Teche Brewery & Cajun Saucer and just down the lane is the the bayou "Bayou Teche" which runs from Port Barre to Franklin La. which is approximately 136 mile course.
A great daytime outing is visiting NUNU's arts and collective craft guild in Arnaudville. Browse around speaking to the local artists and enjoying their seeing with the option of purchasing one of your favorite crafts. Often there will be a French speaking round table meeting happening. Take the time to have a chat with George Marks who has brought NUNU's to this little area of the world. Lastly you should expect to just sit back and relax, take in all the local food beverages people and culture that you will experience in our place that we call home.
Bayou Teche Brewery opens up between 11 am and 12 Pm Tuesday-Sunday, closing at 8pm Tuesday-Thursday- 9 Pm Friday and Sat and 6 pm on Sunday. Often on Saturdays you will be able to enjoy a band playing a variety of different music styles from Cajun to Blues. Sunday the Cajun jammers play from 2 to 6. Bayou Teche Brewery prides themselves on servicing up fresh and interesting flavored beers and hard Seltzer waters. Cajun Saucer will sure to impress you with the most interesting flavored pizzas and light snacks. In addition be sure to try one of the many coffee beverages made with "Arts" coffee while you visit. Arts Coffee is roasted in the white building facing Bushville Hwy. This structure was the original brewery and is beside the Brewhouse Cottage. There are times when the roasting you will be able to enjoy the aromas while you sit on the Brewhouse cottage Porch.

The Brewhouse cottage's history is an interesting one. Approx. 100 years ago it was a barge which floated down the Bayou Teche bringing goods to the local people. The 3x18 inch solid walled structure makes it a very quiet and peaceful stay. The newly plastered walls are a perfect compliment to the red open cabinetry. The Original wood floors give the cottage that original feature to let you know the age of this beautiful cottage. We added interesting local paintings and crafts that you will enjoy reading about in our "About the Brewhouse" book.
In the morning enjoy drinking a cup of fresh ground "Arts Coffee" on the porch while listening to birds and watching the land come to life. Take a walk down the lane to the Bayou & take in the sites & sounds of the Bayou Teche.
Bayou Teche Brewery starts serving up tasty artesian pizzas and cold brews between 11 am and 12 Pm Tuesday-Sunday, closing times are 8pm Tuesday-Thursday- 9 Pm Friday and Sat and 6 pm on Sunday. Often on Saturday you will be able to enjoy a band playing a variety of different styles music from Cajun to Blues. Sunday the Cajun jammers play from 2 to 6.
Arts Coffee is the white building facing Bushville Hwy. This was the original brewery and is where the coffee is roasted. There are times when you may be able to enjoy the aromas of the roasting!
End your day watching your favorite streaming video in the comfort of the glider style rockers while sipping on a glass of brown spirits that we have for you to enjoy if you are so inclined to partake. Finally enjoy the large walk-in shower listening to relaxing music from blue tooth light speaker. Slip off to sleep in the super cozy full-sized bed.
