Get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and escape to this woodsy cottage just waiting to put you at ease as you spend time with the ones you love most. This home will give you the perfect mix of peace and privacy, yet you will be situated across the street from Moran State Park and a short distance from Eastsound. A quick walk from the house leads to Cascade Lake for swimming or connecting to miles of hiking trails in the park. If you feel like staying at home base, there will be plenty of ways to spend each day. For some fresh air, step out to one of the two covered porches with a favorite drink in hand and watch the local deer graze below. Lounging in one of the two hammocks. playing lawn games, taking a kayak to the lake, or gathering at the firepit will also be a blast. Inside, the whole crew will love cooking meals together in the full kitchen or kicking back in the adjacent living room next to the fireplace. The loft has space to play or work, with internet speeds that can handle Zoom calls or streaming movies. The kiddos will have their own space to hang out as well with the 'Harry Potter cupboard” under the stairs!

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Dreamy Retreat is comfortable, spacious, clean, and located close to Eastsound. I highly recommend this home. The only issue which was there was a wine opener although no wine glasses. I asked Vacasa if they could please provide. They responded that this amenity is not included in the stay. After a bit of urging namely that I’m sure the homeowner would be happy to supply the glasses they did try to accommodate. Unfortunately there were no “glasses in the warehouse” for the house. I appreciated their effort after a little push from me.

Lovely, clean and comfortable home in a great location. No need to drive for hiking and kayaking right across the street. Very quiet and private, nestled amongst the trees.

Everything you need

This is a large, well equipped and comfortable home close to lovely walks and activities. We loved the location with deer wandering through the garden and even watching us have breakfast. A very peaceful and relaxing stay.

Lovely house by the lake

Amazing home and location

What a wonderful stay!!! We absolutely loved this house, and the Harry Potter stairs! Clean and excellent communication. The kitchen was well stocked and the house was comfortable! The nightly deer visits from doe and her babies was the best!!

Island getaway

This was such a nice place for a quick getaway. It is decorated so nicely and I enjoyed staying here for three nights with my daughter and two grandsons. It’s a good house for kids, as they have lots of toys to play with and a play area upstairs away from the adults. The play closet under the stairs was a hit. It was so quiet and we had such a relaxing stay.

Great place for families

We had a wonderful stay and loved all the amenities for our kids (pack and play, books, toys, games, little play nook under the bed, washer and dryer, ample linen and towels). We slept amazing and cooked delicious meals in the fully equipped kitchen. Having the opportunity to walk to the lake and a little sandy beach in only 15 minutes was fantastic, as well as the coop and Island Market 10 minute drive away. We would love to come back. The house is in amazing shape and the vacation property management is very good. 10/10 would recommend!

Perfect honeymoon getaway

My wife and I chose to stay here for our honeymoon and it was truly magical. The surroundings were amazing. The house itself was extremely cozy, spacious, and well taken care of. We loved drinking coffee out on the porch and enjoyed the sounds of the forest. We even had a deer sitting about 10 ft away from the back porch for a couple of hours! Our favorite parts were the Harry Potter books available and the cupboard under the stairs! Can't go wrong with choosing this place for your stay.

Beautiful home.

Not luxurious but clean, very well maintained, like new. Well-stocked kitchen and linens. Comfortable beds. Good location: A medium-sized lake was not visible from the house but was a short 5-minute walk away. 3 of us did the 2.8 mile circumnavigation of it yesterday morning. Fabulous! The owners got 1,000 things right but the washcloths for showering were like sandpaper. Also, communication with the owner was nonexistent which I think is how Vacasa normally does it. Emails went to and from corporate I think. AirB&B and VRBO handle it differently.

Mice, unresponsive property manager, malfunctioning applicance, oh my

The house has mice. They run between the island and the refrigerator as well as between the pantry and the island. They are pretty bold, coming out when you are sitting at the dinner table. There are mousetraps in the house, so they know about the issue. There were droppings in the kitchen drawers. The exhaust fan for the stove runs constantly as long as there is power to the stove/oven, so we had to use the breaker box to turn the stove/oven on and off. They knew about this problem and told us, after we raised the issue, they are waiting on a part. The property manager was initially responsive but then disappeared for two days. When she responded she said she was off and had turned the phone off. We were not given any other contact or a heads up that we needed to contact someone else. She did apologize. Hoping this review draws attention to the issue and the issues get resolved.

It was best of times, it was the worst of times

Showed up at 6pm to a house that had not been cleaned. Not badly cleaned, not cleaned at all. Beds were all stripped, the kitchen and bathroom surfaces were filthy, the appliances were the same, and the floor badly needed to be vacuumed. The only good news was that the local property manager responded quickly when notified and, while we were out to dinner, got a cleaner out who was hard at work when we got back around 7:30. The cleaner was fast, thorough, and friendly but didn't finish until about 10:30pm. That was good but it still left us with lingering bad first impression and without full use of our accommodation for one of three nights. It could have been worse if we'd been unable to get on our scheduled ferry and shown up at 10pm instead. The property manager told that there was a communications mistake and the cleaners just didn't get scheduled. We were contacted by reps from Vacasa who largely seemed clueless that there was ever a problem and the best they could do was a couple of text messages saying "sorry" and "we will look into it". No offer of any kind of compensation or other gesture of good will. I'd rate the property manager response and the cleaner as 4 star and the company response as zero stars. We liked the property and would rate it a solid 4 star choice. Plenty of room, quiet, private, good shower pressure, comfortable beds, and well-furnished.

hiker's dream location

We chose this property based on it's location--we were literally able to walk into the State Park from just across the road. Town and an excellent small grocery was just a 10 minute drive. The house was clean and exceptionally well equipped, particularly in the kitchen. The BBQ on the back porch worked very well. The live TV was basically a no-go, but we were able to figure out how to access Netflix and Prime after quite a bit of tinkering with 3 separate remotes. The upstairs King bed was particularly comfy.

Wonderful!!!

Perfect location for our for our family. Appreciated the graco pack and play - loved the hammock and fire pit. Appreciated the Wi-Fi.
