Escape to our Trailside Retreat, a peaceful hillside retreat located in Blairsville's Trackrock Section, GA. This cozy cabin is packed with amenities, including an open loft with two comfortable queen beds. The stocked kitchen and Dish TV provide added comfort, while the wood-burning fireplace creates a warm and charming ambiance on chilly mountain nights. Perfect for a romantic getaway or small family adventure, The Trailside Retreat is pet-friendly (see host policies). Conveniently located less than two hours from Atlanta, this cabin is 11 miles from Brasstown Bald, 8 miles from Vogel State Park, 6.5 miles from downtown Blairsville, and 4.3 miles from the Trackrock Petroglyph Site. With ample opportunities for outdoor adventures, sightseeing, and relaxation, The Nesting Place is the perfect mountain escape.

The place was very clean and had everything we could ever think of needing. The Walsh's were super friendly and the area was very quiet and nice. Place was beautiful, simple, and so clean. Definitely would stay again!

Highly Recommend “The Nest” at Misty Mountain!

This is an adorable, cozy cabin nestled among the trees at Misty Mountain. Sarah and Bill Walsh are very informative and answer all inquiries very promptly. Check-in was a breeze and when we arrived late in the evening, the lights were all on for our arrival. We stayed in the “Nest” which was decorated appropriately with pictures of birds complete with a small fireplace (can’t be used u til October). Rocking chairs on the front porch were an appreciated touch! The bed was comfortable, and everything was neat. There is a binder provided that is packed with brochures and helpful info on places and activities in and around the area. The stairs leading to the loft are quite steep, so if you have issues climbing up and down, you may want to sleep downstairs. Overall, would definitely recommend!

Perfect place to unwind

This is the second year we have visited and stayed at Misty Mountain, the owners Bill and Sarah Walsh are like family. They treat you as if they have known you forever and go above and beyond to make sure you wnjoy your stay. This is by far our favorite vacation spot and will remain so for many years. The cabins are clean and well maintained and super cozy. If you miss this place then you will def be missing out on a great oppurtunity to disconnect from the craziness of everyday life and reconnect with nature and family.

Very clean and peaceful

I’ve had nothing but a wonderful time in Blairsville. I came with just my dog for some quiet relaxing time and indeed that’s what I got. Cabin was very clean, the Walsh’s and staff were so nice and helpful. The scenery with the leaves changing from just sitting on the porch was beautiful. It was a experience I will never forget. I will be going back next year and will definitely be staying at The Walsh’s cabins.

Relax and rock to the song of birds or go explore,

We attended a wedding at nearby venue. It was perfect for a day to unwind afterwards and a base to venture from to explore. The Walsh family were very friendly and helpful.

The Nesting Place

Wonderful scenery. Only thing we wish there had been a TV upstairs and maybe updated furniture. Otherwise it was great for a small group of guests.

We purchased Misty Mountain Inn with the intent of managing the bed and breakfast as a family affair with all members (all 4 kids included) learning aspects of the business. Our motto is "Rest, Renew, and Trail On" and it is our goal to provide quality lodging for those wanting to enjoy a relaxing mountain setting with numerous recreational opportunities. We want guests to arrive with rest and renewal in mind while they spend time on the trails, lodging in our cottages, and seeking outdoor adventures in the mountains. It is our hope you leave more energized than when you arrived. We look forward to calling Georgia our home and hosting you as our guest.

We love this property as it is close to Blairsville, which has some of the nicest people we've ever met. Misty Mountain is also really close to all the out door amenities this area has to offer. We have the best of both worlds!
