The best thing about this house is it doesn’t have 1000 stairs down to the water. It’s as close as you can get to the waters Edge. This home is located in a Prime location and in my opinion the best location on Watauga Lake. Just 15 minutes to Mountain City with grocery shopping at the local Food Lion and many great restaraunts. Just a 5 minute drive to a Dollar General as well. When you arrive at Water's Edge you will not want or need to leave. We offer a Pontoon boat rental from May to October that can stay at the house overnight/s and you can use at your leisure with no trips running back and forth and wasting precious vacation/boating time. The boat rentals are shared between properties so ask first thing after you book.
This house is as close to the water as one can get. We have been VRBO property owners since 2014. This property is a Beach Style Lakefront home with double slip dock. The gentle slope of the patio walk to water provides an easy walk to the Waters Edge. The house has 2 bedrooms with independent Mini-split systems. Master Suite has a King Bed with full bathroom with step in shower. 2ND Bedroom has 1 Queen bed and a set of bunk beds with Ensuite full Bathroom with step in shower. All of our beds are very comfortable and after each guest leaves every piece of linen, every blanket, every quilt or bedspread is washed and fresh especially for you. We also have a 3rd Full Bath on the ground floor with step in shower. This house will sleep 6 comfortably in beds and if you have some young ones to sleep on the large comfy sectional there is space enough for 2 smaller humans.

The house boasts a full eat in Kitchen and open floor plan Living area. The view from the huge front porch is spectacular and as a Bonus we have a Bar-B-Q Chef's dream complete with a Gas grill and outdoor Bar. Just outside the sliding door and off the huge deck you will find a the Hot Tub. Our Hot Tub is drained after each guest leaves and we use minimal Bromide tablets to keep it fresh for you. Sit in the Hot Tub and take in the Magnificent Watauga Lake in all its Glorious Beauty. Jump in the Kayak's and drift off into the sunset. If you're not a Hot Tub person then maybe you stroll down to the Water's Edge and sit by the Fire Pit or rent the pontoon boat and jump aboard at your leisure. Ask after booking for details of the pontoon boat rental.

Great location right on the lake. We enjoyed the weekend and it was perfect for our family of four. The hot tub was nice! Very limited parking but close to the water and was a pretty easy walk down. Both bedrooms are upstairs and are really nice. We spent a lot of time outside on the deck and cooking on the grill.

Brenda was very responsive with everything we needed. It was a wonderful experience to stay here, lovely peaceful location. It’s a Lake front property with walkout water access which was a huge plus. If you plan on fishing, bring your gear. Fall colors were stellar directly across from cabin and covered deck. Having the kayaks available was wonderful and we were able to watch the wildlife from eagles and kingfishers grabbing their lunch from the water to deer and bear getting a drink at the waters edge. Beautiful untouched shorelines are hard to find anywhere else. If you are a hiker- Laurel Falls near Hampton was exceptional with a stunning waterfall at its pinnacle point.

Another great summer vacation by the lake

This is our third time renting Water's Edge and as always our family had a great time! We rarely revisit short term rentals but we love coming back here as Brenda and Tim are great hosts and the lake keeps us cool when we can no longer bear the summer heat.

Perfect spot!

This lake house was a perfect location to play, relax and enjoy the family. Super clean and easy to book. Renting the pontoon was a plus. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The outside is awesome - we loved the back porch overlooking the water, the jacuzzi is in a perfect setting overlooking the water, and the host did a great job keeping up the grounds, including flowers (also one of the easiest accesses to the water we’ve stayed at). The inside is cute and was overall clean, but we did notice a few issues like crumbs on the couch and what appeared to be a lot of mold on the upstair bathroom wall above the door. Note that, while it is not disclosed in the listing, you will be required to sign a long 6 page “EzLandlord” document after you book, which contains some pretty serious legal terms like a “Hold Harmless” (might be okay, but it would seem to be fair to let everyone have an opportunity to review before they book). Also, heads up to bring coffee with you, as none is provided (not a big deal, but, for the price, it would seem like a nice thing to do for the guests who travel overnight and don’t have an opportunity to shop before they get there), especially since even the cheapest hotels provide as a nice courtesy. But overall we were happy with the stay and would likely stay again.

As an Attorney I am sure you understand the need to protect myself and my property. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay even after the tug of war we had over the Rental Agreement. Coffee is not provided because I have found in the 12 plus years of hosting that people are largely very particular about their coffee. They always bring their own and mine goes to waste when left there. You might have mentioned the fact that even though I do not provide coffee that I do provide 2 different kinds of Coffee makers to satisfy the Keurig Lovers too!

Always an amazing family vacation

Brenda and Tim are excellent hosts and it's a pleasure that they're willing to share their home for families like us to enjoy the lake. We had an amazing time and this is our second rental here and both experiences have been great. Will definitely be re-visiting in the future!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Water’s Edge on Watauga Lake and couldn’t have asked for a better place. The house was perfect, had everything we needed, and the owner, Brenda, was incredibly friendly, responsive, and wonderful to work with. She was a big part of what made this such a five-star experience!The name Water’s Edge couldn’t be more fitting—the house is literally right on the water. We loved the large, level concrete patio at the lake’s edge, perfect for relaxing, playing cornhole, and gathering around the fire pit. The large covered back porch overlooking the lake was another favorite for relaxing, games, grilling, and outdoor meals, especially when it rained. The hot tub was spotless and had a beautiful lake view.The setting is incredibly peaceful and private, facing the undeveloped shoreline of Cherokee National Forest. Brenda’s thoughtful touches—fresh-cut hydrangeas, colorful begonias inside and on the porch, and beautifully maintained landscaping—made us feel right at home.We also rented the pontoon boat and are so glad we did. It felt nearly new, and the tritoon setup with the larger motor made for a smooth ride and made exploring the large lake easy and fun.Between the home, setting, outdoor spaces, boat, and Brenda’s southern hospitality, Water’s Esge exceeded our expectations in every way. We would absolutely stay again and highly recommend it!

Weekend on the Lake

My family and I had a wonderful time spending a few days at the lake. What a view sitting on the dock looking at the lake with the mountains surrounding. We enjoyed our time and wish we could have stayed several more days.
