Ocean views, harbor islands in the distance, huge trees with cardinals and blue-jays, large private balcony, private bath and living/sitting/kitchenette/dining room. Private suite entered via shared space in private house. Safe neighborhood, walking distance from reliable red-line subway station, 15 minutes ride to historic center! Walk to local beaches and restaurants, bike paths or JFK museum.
The private deck has a panoramic views over South Boston's harbor and UMass Boston, and glimpses of Boston’s skyline through the giant trees. Watch the sun rise over the bay, sailboats floating on the harbor in the distance or the city lights at night, or just watch the blue jays and gulls float on the ocean breezes.
The Queen-size bed is located in the private room, and a fold-down full-size bed sleeps 2 more adults in the living room with kitchenette. Charming Victorian house has high ceilings, crown moldings, and wood floors.
There is a full-service market near the subway with an excellent selection of fresh vegetables, meat and fish, pasta and desserts. There are also plenty of restaurants for good take-out food, and a pharmacy, all within easy walking distance.
This is a quiet neighborhood with a lot of professionals and medical workers, in particular because we have good transportation connections to BU Medical Center and several community health centers. We are also a fast ride on the reliable Red Line to MGH and Cambridge. Savin Hill Station on the reliable Red Line is less than half a mile away (10-12 minutes walk) so you won't need a car; but if you have one, on-street parking is plentiful, especially on our nearest cross-street, and there is no permit required.
The apartment is spacious for two, and comfortably sleeps four. We regret that we cannot permit any animals of any kind, even small ones or exceptionally well-trained ones, nor is any smoking allowed inside or behind the building nor on the porches or decks, due to my family's health conditions. There is a pleasant smoking area with chairs and table in the front yard.
People have compared our house to the Weazely's house in Harry Potter--something fascinating around every corner, with books, games and artwork left behind by the world travelers, artists, engineers and medical people who have lived here.
