We booked this home last minute due to a family funeral. The location was excellent, close to our family home and church, which was very important to us.Positives: The house is cozy, very clean, and nicely decorated. The bedding was extremely comfortable, and the hosts provided thoughtful starter items such as bottled water, coffee, and tea.Negatives: There is no walkway from the driveway to the entrance, requiring guests to walk through grass, which made loading/unloading and accessing the car in bad weather inconvenient and unsafe. The fireplace did not work, and the kitchen lacked a blender.More concerning was the owner’s lack of professionalism. Instead of communicating through the VRBO app, the owner called me directly on my personal cell phone Saturday morning and made accusations that were later proven to be incorrect. Rather than asking questions, he rushed to judgment, shared unrelated negative stories about other guests, and was confrontational.After multiple communications, and only after I cited the applicable law and VRBO confirmed it, the owner acknowledged his error and canceled the additional charges he attempted to impose. Despite this, no apology was offered for the incorrect accusations, intrusive phone call, repeated emails, or added stress during an already difficult weekend.While the home itself is clean and comfortable, guests should be aware of the lack of professionalism, accountability, and attentiveness to the guest experience.
