Situated practically on the banks of Little Lagoon, this beautiful raised house is waiting to provide you with the vacation memories you deserve! Guests will be conveniently close to white-sand beaches, Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo, hiking and biking trails, Waterville USA, Dauphin Island Estuarium, boating, kayaking, parasailing, and canoeing activities, and more! Inside, you'll find the home dressed in cool, beachy tones and attractive décor, with lots of comfortable furniture and natural light. When you're not out on the water, hang out with friends and enjoy some ice-cold refreshments on the furnished balcony overlooking the water. You'll love catching your favorite movies and shows on the living room's flatscreen TV. The full kitchen is equipped with all the appliances and counter space you'll need to assemble a delightful meal and you can enjoy your masterpiece at the kitchen table or outside as an al-fresco meal. Take advantage of the central AC to keep the home nice and cool while you use the high-speed WiFi to research a new adventure then head out for a day of sun and sand!

Nightmare

We arrived just after dark on a Friday evening. The house is NOT located where the map shows it to be and there are no visible numbers on the outside to aid you in finding it. We went to two different houses before we found it. Once inside is when our nightmare began! There was NO water and we could not find the outside shut off valve to turn it back on. We began calling the number for assistance at 6:50 p.m. The person that answered was in Oregon and could barely speak English and could not understand that we had no water. She refused to help me until I sent her a picture of the hot water heater! I repeatedly asked for a call back from a local representative and was assured I would get one. I was also told that it would be Monday before they could send someone to check the water!! I called back on Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. and was again told I would get a call back from a local representative immediately. At 1:40 p.m. on Saturday afternoon I got a text from someone claiming to be a local representative of the company wanting to know if we had been relocated to a new rental. I explained to this person that we had been forced to leave the rental and go to hotel and NOONE had contacted us about anything. After demanding a refund, I received an email saying I would be fully refunded. This property is most likely very nice and a good place to stay, but we will not be back!

Great Place

This is our second stay at this place and we absolutely love it!! It’s so close to the water we can hear the waves crash inside which I absolutely love. The area is so quiet and peaceful. Everything is exactly as described about the place!

Overall great stay

Came in after dark. No address on house and no lights on. Light on deck where keypad was at was actually tore off the wall. We used lights on phone to be able to get in. Once in everything was clean and nice.

Lots of Birds, Peace and solitude on the little lagoon. Easy walk to West Beach, Gulf Shores, AL

Lots to f birds to watch, fish jumping and peace and solitude by the little lagoon. We saw great blue herons, an osprey, and a hawk. Along with smaller wading shorebirds. Also, lots of hermit crabs along the lagoon shores. Also a very walk to the Gulf Coast beach.

Private and cozy

Loved this little house on the lagoon. It sits right on the water with a very easy walk to a private beach area. House was clean, bed was comfortable, hot showers, and cold AC. I will definitely be back.

Gorgeous Sunsets on the Lagoon

This was the perfect size home for the two of us! The accommodations were clean and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the nice deck overlooking the Lagoon and watching the gorgeous sunsets in the evenings. Very peaceful!

Perfect getaway and even better location !!

This was by far the best stay . We have stayed at high end condos and other homes but this tops them all. Secluded and right on the water just steps away. Great neighbors also that are locals year round . Five stars !!!

Location!!

First, we loved the location. The bay side is SO quiet and tranquil. The walk to the beach side was quick and easy. We had everything we needed, but the building needs some tender loving care. There was a lot of water underneath, so we couldn't use that part. When it rains, the walk to your car is gushy. Loved the privacy and view from the porch. It would be nice if part or all of the porch was covered to help keep things dry when it rains. The shower head is SO short you have to bend down to rinse off. They could use a new bed. Overall we enjoyed our stay and it's hard to beat this location!!

Herons Nest

Herons Nest was absolutely amazing. From the cute home to right on the water we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay! Area was very quiet you could hear the waves and conveniently located to anything and everything you would want to do.

Heron's Nest

Excellent and quiet location

We stayed at this property last year and loved the location, so we figured we’d try again this year. We were hoping for a few updates/upgrades/TLC shown the property, but that was not the case. It’s hard to find a great location right on the water (Little Lagoon), so we opted to overlook some of the issues of the property itself. We had issues with the cable and the Vacasa rep got Mediacom to troubleshoot. Vacasa and Mediacom were awesome. We brought some conveniences from home as we stayed for a month this time. Some of the items we brought- shower caddy, non-stick pan for frying eggs, single serve Kcup coffee maker, Electric Foreman Grill, and small throw rugs. The property only provided one dish towel in the kitchen, (no hot pads!), and one hand towel in the bathroom. It would have been nice to have a cookie sheet. The property has a great fridge with ice maker. The king size bed is the same as last year, and we found it to not the most comfy. We requested a different set of sheets from Vacasa as the original flat sheet was too short to tuck properly, bed pillows should be replaced. The sofa is not comfortable. There could be another end table in the main living area. A little bigger table for eating would also be nice. I don’t know how a family of 3-4 or two couples could do it in this property. The accommodations would not be conducive to comfort for all concerned. Will most likely be researching a different location the next time we come down to Gulf Shores.
