Amazing stay! Kitchen had everything we needed, the beds were comfy, and the sitting areas outside were so comfortable. The hosts were definitely communicative and check in/checkout was extremely easy. Would definitely stay here again!

Great spot for our family located just minutes from the beach. The kitchen is more modern than others in that area and the host was great.

7 of us recently stayed in many different places during a trip to different parts of the US. Because this property is managed by a company rather than private hosts there is no flexibility, you cannot arrive 1 minute before check in and the cleaners arrive 5 minutes before the check out time. Although it’s ok for 7 people, it was a little cramped with one sleeping on the sofa (not really a sofa bed) and we needed to send several messages to eventually receive the bed sheets for the sofa. Our fault for not realising, but a little disappointed there was no AC in August.The balcony and BBQ is shared with your neighbours, the doors are right next to each other so be prepared to socialise and share with a neighbour.Cleaning and a personal touch can be improved.The location is fabulous!

Loved the unit. Plenty of space, clean, and updated furnishings. Comfortable shared deck in front and private deck in back. Property management was very responsive and helpful. Dishwasher and washing machine were a huge plus. I'd definitely stay here again.

We had a nice week in this unit. We saw 2 things that others mentioned when booking this unit but neither bothered us much. The parking is tight but we only had 1 rental car (Nissan Armada) and we were able to fit it between the poles.There is no AC but opening the windows at night and using fans made it comfortable enough.

Lots of room for the family and very clean! Beach chairs and toys provided were a big benefit.

Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend this Vrbo—with one important consideration.First, it's worth noting that there is **no air conditioning** in the unit. That's probably fine much of the year, but we visited in July, and the inside temperature reached around 90F every afternoon. The hosts did provide several fans, and it cooled down nicely in the evenings, but the afternoons and early evenings were much warmer than we had hoped, making it a little less restful than expected. Parking was also pretty tight, but it wasn't an issue for us.Other than that, everything was wonderful! The location was excellent, the unit was clean, spacious, and stocked with just about everything we needed. The only things we found ourselves wishing for were a broom and dustpan to sweep up the sand and a laundry basket.We especially enjoyed relaxing on the deck and loved the added perk of being able to rent beach gear and roller skates for free. The walk to the beach was easy, and we looked forward to walking to a local coffee shop each morning.Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this place—just keep the lack of air conditioning in mind if you're planning a visit during the hottest part of the summer.

We enjoyed the location of this property. It is very close to the boardwalk! Please be aware that the parking says it fits two cars. It is a very tight compacted area and they need to be small carsWhen we arrived one of our spots was taken by another car and our car didn’t fit in the remaining slot. We had to park a ways away which made it very inconvenient.By the second day we had access to our space.

Great home and location

The location was perfect. Walking distance to places to eat, the boardwalk and more. Beach access is steps away. The home comes equipped with everything you need to go to the beach. Looking forward to staying here again.

Great experience from this Surf Style Vacation Homes rental, so close to the beach, nicely designed just like the photos, plenty of parking, and fast communication through our stay. We wouldn't hesitate to book any of their homes for a future San Diego getaway :)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We stayed in 741 and it has a pretty view of the pathway that leads to the beach. The patio is comfortable with seating for 5 ( which our party was). There wasn’t anyone staying in 743 which made the patio very private for us. The home itself was clean, the beds were comfortable and definitely enough space for 5 people. We made the mistake of texting the host vs the manager when we had a small issue which delayed a response so contact the manager for a fast response The beach is approximately a minute walk from the home. Quick and a lovely walk. Our family had a wonderful time and will come back. Thank you!!

Ideal for adults

This place is ideal for adults. Close to the beach and walking distance to cafes and restaurants. Keep in mind; parking spots are small (we had a difficult time parking our truck). We worried about our toddlers climbing up and down stairs and walking to the beach. No a/c unit, it was HOT July 4th. Airplane traffic noise in this area. They also had a strict visiting rule (NO Visitors).

Thank you for your feedback! This is a 2nd story unit and does not advertise AC. Compact to mid sized vehicles are recommended for the Mission Beach area (unless a home advertises oversized parking spaces!). Thank you for sticking to the advertised guest maximum onsite!

No AC and No Parking. Can’t recommend.

No AC. Was Way too hot inside the unit in mid- August. Definitely not a good summer rental. There are two parking spaces noted as designated for the unit, but these were not available when we stayed as other vehicles continually parked in them. Surf Style was not interested in correcting this. So plan on no parking spots at a crowded beach locale. The furniture was new and the unit was very clean. Proximity to the beach is good.

A Fun Place to Stay

Had a very nice stay at Avalon 3. Pros - great location that's close to everything, very comfortable beds, all the amenities you need for house and beach, and the unit was decorated in very nice beach decor. At the south end of Mission Beach, so beach was less populated, which was nice. Parking spaces were essential - convenient and easy to come and go as needed. The place was perfect except for one thing - no air conditioning. When we checked in at 5:30 p.m., it was 98 degrees inside! and it got into the 90s every day even with fans going and windows open. We couldn't sleep with the bedroom windows open because of the airplane traffic overhead from SAN Airport. We were very warm and spent our evenings trying to cool things off. We loved the unit, but we'll look for a different place with AC for our next visit to San Diego.

The unit was clean and well stocked with the basics (shampoo, body wash, dish soap etc). Nice layout. If you have a large vehicle, the narrow alleyway with other cars parked on the other side, makes it impossible to maneuver into the space especially when other people are staying in the other units so plan to park on the street. Street parking is very hard to find/there. I parked over a mile away one night. The walls and floors are very thin. I heard the person next to me snoring - in the unit next-door, we were questioned more than once about anybody under the age of 30 and if we were going to be making excessive noise. They indicated there was an HOA restriction that they couldn’t have people under 30 yet the people in the unit downstairs were under 30 there were several of them and they were making a lot of noise. This was from the second round of questions “ - Do all adults meet the advertised HOA 30yr min age restriction?”The first round ask the ages of the people staying and I indicated three adults over 40 and two kids.When I asked about the 30 year-old HOA restriction this is what was sent “ The minimum age requirement is waived for multi-generational groups, families are welcome. ”We were a multigenerational family group yet we were questioned about noise and age more than once and if anybody else would be visiting etc.The location has great access to the beach. There is no air-conditioning only heat. It was cool in the morning and the heater worked great.

Thank you so much for the feedback Eldonna. We do try to make it clear in the ads what the parking dimensions are, however we are happy to update this to be more clear. We do have a strict min age requirement for all-adult groups, and yes, we do make exceptions for multi-generational families. All of our guests are thoroughly screened the same way, as were the guests staying in the other units during your stay. While we cannot do much about sound transfer within the building, we could have asked the other guests to be quiet after hours had you let us know while you were in-house. We strictly prohibit any excessive noise onsite. We also could have assisted with the parking situation, as no one should've been parking in your spaces. Our office staff and after-hours staff are always happy to help our guests!
