This is a working cattle farm. The fencing has been electrified. Guests should not go beyond the wooden fencing that surrounds the house and driveway.
While we stay here often without any discomfort, we would like you to know that occasionally the unique aroma of cattle is noticeable.

My first VRBO rental and didn’t quite know what to expect. What I found was a beautiful place In between two pastures on a working farm. I couldn’t have been more impressed! Large spacious house. That was clean, impressive and with quiet surroundings and only eleven miles from my sister’s home. The week exceeded my expectations.

We had such a wonderful stay at this beautiful country property in Moneta, Virginia! We were in the area while moving our daughter into Liberty University for college, and this was the perfect place for our family to stay during such a special time. The property was peaceful, comfortable, and absolutely beautiful. We really enjoyed the quiet country setting and having a relaxing place to come back to after busy days getting everything settled at the university. It gave us a chance to slow down and enjoy some quality family time before starting this new chapter. The home was clean, welcoming, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was also great for what we needed, while still feeling like a peaceful getaway from the busyness of moving day. We’re so glad we chose to stay here and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxing place to stay in the Moneta area. It made an already memorable trip even more special!

Perfect little getaway place for family. Relaxing homey and beautiful. The home was exactly the amount of space. We appreciated the kitchen area having a lot of space to move and work around each other. The outside area was used for playing bocce and cornhole, and the dining room table was big enough for the family to play cards and other games. We loved the views of the farm and the mountains. Hostess was amazing to work with!

Quiet beauty in the country.

The setting was beautiful and peaceful. The house was lovely and welcoming. We felt at home there. It was very clean with very comfortable living, dining and sleeping spaces. There were thoughtful touches throughout the home. It was an ideal location for us celebrating our grandson's wedding in nearby Bedford.

We really enjoyed our stay! The home was very family friendly. After a day of site seeing at Poplar Forest and the D-Day Memorial we came back and played uno and games with our 11 yr old son. We also took a walk down the beautiful driveway to the neighboring church to read about its history. The home was very clean and spacious. The kitchen was well stocked w spices, dishes, cooking pans etc. We prepared breakfast and lunches but enjoyed diner out in Moneta. It was a great trip 10 out of 10. Btw: The ice cream from the local creamery is amazing!

Pastoral and peaceful

We absolutely loved our stay here. The house was perfect—the layout was roomy and open ibitnalso allowed for personal space too. It was perfect for my elderly parents. The view from the front and back of the house was so beautiful and peaceful. There was a nice front and back porch and great yard for our son to play. It was also perfect for walks in the morning. We would absolutely stay here again

Absolutely beautiful

We had the most wonderful stay at the farm. Sitting on the deck, having a coffee, listening to the occasional mooing, and taking in the beautiful mountain view made our weekend the most relaxing one we've had in years. The house is wonderful. It is very large, and the kitchen is a great place to make breakfast every day before heading out to go hiking or enjoying the lake. We would love to come back again soon. My daughter gave me one of the best compliments she has ever given me about a vacation. She said that I picked the perfect house.

Resistance is Futile...You've Found the One.

Found this gem by expanding the online search beyond the lake front. The description and pics match the property well. Everything was present and worked as expected. The owners okayed a 22-ft tongue-to-tail camper that manuevered within the driveway. That enabled three generations, 10 total, to colocate and relax during the trip, away from the busyness on the water and in town during independence Day weekend.

We will be back!

The owner was so easy to work with and thoughtful in preparing things for our stay! It felt like staying at grandma's house! Everything was clean and well stocked. The rooms were more spacious than I thought from the pictures. The beds were comfortable (twins are a little firm)and the other furniture in good shape. We had everything we needed to cook supper and plenty of space to share a meal. The wifi was good and easy to connect to. We really enjoyed walking the driveway and yard. The area is beautiful! We sat on the front porch and enjoyed the blooming trres! It was just a few minutes to the grocery store and 10 minutes to the lake. Everything worked really well for what we needed! We enjoyed our brief stay, and we plan to return soon!

Mold-Mold-and more Mold

Mold enveloped the ceiling of the Sun porch to such a degree that we didn’t feel safe spending time there (particularly given our age and my husband’s history of allergies, asthma and cancer); although given the peaceful setting, we would have loved to! Mold was evident in the ceiling and walls of the master bedroom forcing us to move to the guest room (either two single beds or a double bed). There, also was the mold in the master bathroom shower. Additionally, the deck is deteriorating, but not to any degree that interfered with our stay. While the setting is beautiful and tranquil, without addressing the mold issue, the owners are putting the heath of their guests at risk!!! Refer to CDC guidelines which state: “Regardless of the type of mold, it is important to remove it from the home for hygiene and health reasons.” Aside from the mold issue, the property was clean, in a peaceful setting with adequate accommodations. (We would have appreciated more than a partial roll of paper towels for an 8 day stay and new, more plush towels rather than the bevy of thread bare, mismatched towels, washcloths and towel mats.) Also, the ice make stopped working midway during our stay. Access to the soaking tub would have been appreciated; but it reportedly didn’t work. We have pictures to document. Maybe, we were spoiled by our stay in Gatlinburg (Sweet and Cozy Getaway Spot); the host truly treats his guests as honored “guests”.

I am sorry your time at the farm wasn't more enjoyable. For future renters, the "mold" on the screened porch is actually stains and there is no mold in the bedroom or bath, only water stains from previous leaks. There are no safety issues with the deck. The ice maker was accidentally turned off. If there are ever any issues, renters are welcome to message me via VRBO and someone will get there quickly.

My siblings and I would like to share our family's farm with you. Our family has been a part of this community for many generations. This farm belonged to our grandmother before us, and then to our great-grandmother who inherited it from her father in the late 1800's. Our uncles helped our grandfather farm the crops and Mom has fond memories of being allowed to ride to the farm with her father when she was a little girl, begging him to park under the cherry tree so she could stand on top of the truck to reach the cherries. We love this beautiful land and feel very blessed to own it. Our hope is that you will find rest, joy and peace while here.
