Zunächst einmal wurden wir gar nicht in diesem Haus, sondern in der Villa Gialla auf demselben Grundstück untergebracht. Wir haben uns aber nicht beschwert, weil die Villa Gialla höher und etwas abseits liegt, und der Blick spektakulär ist. Leider muss man sagen, dass hier ein großer Investitionsstau herrscht. Das Mobiliar ist größtenteils nicht antik, sondern einfach nur alt und wahllos zusammengesucht. Küche und Sofas müssten dringend ausgetauscht werden. Das Haus ist wunderschön gelegen und gut geschnitten. Die Terrasse und der Balkon sind traumhaft. Mit geschmackvollen Möbeln wäre das Haus ein echtes Juwel. Der Pool ist frisch renoviert und in einem Top-Zustand, das Grundstück ist auch schön. Der Hausverwalter ist extrem freundlich, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Insgesamt ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt, aber bitte gründlich renovieren!

It was quite an amazing and unique.Beautiful large accodation with lots of areas to either meet or have quite time. The pool a definate bonus which the children loved as did we. Abbi who manages and takes care of is lovely and works so hard to keep all areas clean and tidy.Had a wonderful time with my daughter and two grand sons.The pizza place down the road on the water is fantastic. Little and made by elderly gent. Small but obviously popular.Many Thanks. We only just got home.

Wonderful holiday home

The property is set in a lovely and peaceful location, very spacious, clean and well maintained. Lovely seating area outside under the bougainvillea and jasmine, overlooking the mountains and sea. There were an additional 3 seating areas inside. Small but well equipped kitchen. Great little utility room with washing machine, additional toilet and shower. Good main bathroom, decent pressure for the shower and large vanity unit. Large bedrooms, both very comfortable. The restaurants recommended were brilliant, not too far to walk unless you have mobility issues. A car is needed for journeys to syracuse and other parts of the island, but it was worthwhile to stay somewhere quieter and as beautiful as this. The pool area looked amazing, although we didn’t use it, as we prefer the sea. There are some great beaches close by, the best being Minaret beach, which would be fantastic for snorkeling. The property is ideal for families, or older groups alike. We met a number of people working at the property, absolutely wonderful people. Communication was great and they couldn’t do enough to help. We would absolutely stay here again for a wonderful and relaxing break.

Diskrepanz zwischen Realität und Internet-Beschreibung

Wir waren sehr enttäuscht von der Unterkunft. Sehr ärgerlich war die erhebliche Diskrepanz zwischen der Beschreibung bei FeWo-direkt und den real vor-Ort existierenden Verhältnissen. Die Bilder im Internet geben die Realität falsch wieder. Sie zeigen eine gepflegte Immobilie. In Realität waren stattdessen große Teile des Grundstücks verwahrlost. Weit verbreitet fanden sich auf dem Grundstück Reste von Bauschutt und Stellen, wo Abfälle verbrannt wurden. In krassem Gegensatz zu den Bildern im Internet war der Swimmingpool während unseres Besuches eine einzige Baustelle und nicht nutzbar. Darüber wurden wir vorab nicht informiert. Die Grünfläche vor dem Ferienhaus war eine karge und ungepflegte Fläche. Der Baumbestand und die Bepflanzung existieren nicht mehr so wie auf den Bildern. Das Ferienhaus hinterließ bei uns einen insgesamt renovierungsbedürftigen Eindruck. Die Tür vom Wintergarten zum Garten ist mittlerweile dauerhaft verschlossen und ließ sich nicht mehr öffnen. Wo früher ein ansehnlicher Baum stand, steht heute ein hässlicher Laternenmast. In der Küche funktionierte die Dunstabzugshaube nicht. Mehrere Kochstellen des Gasherdes waren defekt. Die Ausstattung der Küche war sehr dürftig. Aus den Wasserhähnen kam zeitweise eine ekelige braune Brühe. Das Internet hatte viele Aussetzer. Positiv: Freundlichkeit des Personals, Lage des Hauses, Ausblick von der Terrasse, optimale Abstellmöglichkeit für Autos

schönes Sommerhaus, ungeeignet währen der kühlen Jahreszeit

Obwohl für 10 Tage gebucht, mussten wir das Haus nach der 1.Nacht verlassen, da es bis auf Klimageräte in den Schlafzimmern unbeheizbar ist. Die Raumtemperatur von 10-14 Grad in den Aufenthaltsräumen und im Bad waren für einen Aufenthalt dort ungeeignet. Die Heizung laut Objektbeschreibung ist seit Jahren defekt. Das Haus ist mit Liebe zum Detail dekoriert und eingerichtet, allzu hohe Ansprüche an staubfreiheit und heutigen Standard dürfen allerdings nicht gestellt werden: Besonders das Bad ist aus heutiger Sicht fast Substandard, die Badewanne mit Vorhang schmuddelig, das Waschbecken mehrfach gesprungen. Die Handtücher sind löchrig und totgewaschen. Was fehlt, ist ein kräftiger Investitionsschub. Der Hausverwalter, ein Marokkaner, ist äusserst liebenswürdig, höflich und hilfsbereit. Die nahegelegene Pizzeria ist in Ordnung bei der Speisenqualität, der Innenraum aber von fast unerträglicher Geschmacklosigkeit. (Sorry, bin Architekt von Beruf). Ohne eigenen PKW geht gar nichts, die nächsten Badestrände waren zumindest jetzt im Februar vermüllt und nicht sehr einladend.

100% full filled our expectations. Beautiful old house villa Antica with fabulous interior. Of course house of this age close to beautiful garden has some wildlife knocking on. We felt very welcomed first by Francesco then Patricia, hope you contact us if you ever visit Iceland.

Lovely quiet location and big swimming pool

Lovely quiet location but great transport links. Beaches and lidos within easy reach. Walkable to restaurants. Pool is really big for a holiday home. Air conditioning cost extra (payable on site). We had WiFi working inside as well as in outside areas. We really enjoyed our break

Een grappig vreemd heerlijk huis

Een heerlijk huis met allerlei hoekjes en plekjes om te ontdekken. Overal hangt of staat wel iets leuks. Er is een heerlijk zwembad en overal mooie planten, bomen en struiken. Het uitzicht is geweldig en Patrizia is een schat.

Beautiful old villa

We were very lucky to have the shared pool to ourselves for our holiday. (I don’t think the pool bar has been open for a long time!) The villa is perfect for watching the sun go down across the fields in front. Perfectly comfortable although things were not very clean in the kitchen when we arrived and it would have been good to have materials available like washing liquid for cleaning the set of towels, spray for surfaces . Francesco sorted out the broken air conditioning quickly (which was good as we paid extra for this) and was available when we needed him.

Lovely location, lovely pool, wonderful hosts

Located on a peninsula about 20 minutes outside of Siracusa, this is a perfect location from which to explore the east coast of Sicily as well as to enjoy quiet time in the pool with beautiful sunset views. The hosts, Patrizia and Francesco, both of whom speak English, were very warm, welcoming and very helpful.

Quirky villa, beautiful sun room!

We had a great stay at Villa Antica for a week over Easter (end of March/early April). It’s a quirky property, with two large double bedrooms (one with potential to be triple, or bigger). It was clean, the main house stayed lovely and cool, which must be wonderful in the height of summer, but as it was spring, we spent most of our time in the enormous sun room, from where we could watch the sun set. We also sat out on the terrace, which caught the sun most of the day, and our daughter really loved the garden, full of wild flowers and enormous palms and cacti, spotting the lizards and listening to the many birds (one of which sounds like a funny beeping, and we spent some time on our first night trying to discover where the beeping was coming from before realising it was a bird!). There’s an immersion heater for hot water, which worked very well, and the kitchen is well equipped - we appreciated the stove-top espresso maker and the electric orange juicer! The beds were pretty comfy, although perhaps we could have done with an extra pillow or two, and there were plenty of clean towels and blankets etc. Patrizia, the owner, was very responsive and welcoming. The only drawback was that the pool was not in use (only in summer, I think), which was a shame, and I’d imagined we might be able to walk to the beach, but it was a drive, really (especially with a 6 year old). If you rent a car and don’t mind driving, I’d definitely recommend this as a good base for exploring south-east Sicily.
