River Front Cottage at the base of the Blue Ridge. Pet and Kid Friendly!

Our river cottage is tucked away at the bottom of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the beautiful Upstate SC countryside. You are steps away from the South Saluda River where you can play, wade, fish, or just enjoy. Watch the fish swim in the river and awaken with our friendly neighborhood roosters! The Cottage also features a new fully fenced yard where you can play with pets or children. While here, spend your time enjoying all the flowers around the property, the fire pit, or grill out looking over the South Saluda.

When you're ready to go explore, take a 5 minute walk to the pay fishing pond, or drive to several waterfalls within 20 minutes or into downtown Travelers Rest for some tacos and craft beer.

The property has little to no cell service, satellite wifi is provided.

Quick hiking get away w/ our pups

We came up from Charleston to do some hiking @ Jones gap state park w/ our pups and Brady’s place was a perfect oasis for us to escape to after a long hike! Very quaint little spot located super close to lots of hiking trails.

Super cute pet friendly house

Amazing quick getaway

We booked this listing on a whim, and we sure had a wonderful experience. Brandi and Josh had every prepped with all the necessities you may need while on vacation! We will definitely keep this place in mind when we come back for a visit.

Amazing stay

Very easy drive up with the family. The place was more than what we expected. The cleanliness was outstanding. The river access was a very nice touch. We did not have cellular service at the house but the WiFi was enough to keep us connected. Would recommend to anyone and would stay again in the future.

Girls trip!

Wonderful relaxing week! Quiet, peaceful and everything we needed. Sitting out back listening to the river was my favorite 😁 The house was so cute and just right for our group of 4 and a fur baby. The fenced in yard was great for the fur baby too. We would love to stay again if in the area.

Relaxing home away from home

Very relaxing stay in this cute little cottage by the river. My teenage son wanted to go fishing, so we thought this place would be perfect because the river is right in the backyard! He only caught a couple small ones, but I think he enjoyed himself anyway. Nice place for a get away.

Rainy, Lazy Days

Wonderful stay at River Cottage

Just spent 2 days for a little break. Extremely clean & all as advertised. Felt very safe & secluded, even though you are close to neighbors. This was our first vrbo rental where we’ve also taken our dog - she loved it. River access was easy & river was perfect depth for all to enjoy. A/C unit wasn’t able to handle 95 degrees outside, so ceiling fans everywhere were much appreciated.

Upstate retreat

The house is well-maintained, clean, and comfortable. The river view from the windows is breathtaking, and the little waterfall up the stream sounds peaceful. The place is secluded, but not to the point of complete detachment - neighbors next door and sometimes cars passing by the road do not make you feel completely surrounded by nature. This river retreat is good for bird watching, fishing, hiking, and relaxing next to the fire. It is plenty of activities around - shopping for antiques, dining, playing disc golf, swimming... I would recommend this place to my friends and we hope to come back in the future.

Modest and clean with great yard and surroundings

This is a modest place with all of the basics. There are no closets at all except for a storage area off the bath/laundry room. Clean, quaint. A little more lighting would have been nice both inside and outside. What sold us were the fenced in yard next to a small river and the close proximity to family were visiting. We enjoyed exploring the fishing community (two stocked man made ponds) only a few yards away. The fire pit with wood was ready to light.

Get little Cottage get a way!!

This place was the best get away for a weekend filled with the hustle and bustle of a wonderful wedding packed weekend! The start was a bit rocky, we didn’t get a door key code I think that was VRBO!! And there was no power and the contact was hard to reach as we nor them had very good cell service! But she was on it and got us inside and power on in a while. One big suggestion is DO Not shut the single bedroom door!!! The door knobs and locks really need to be updated..The fire pit out back was a good place to relax and chill after a long week!!!! We would definitely stay here again!!! It is a cozy little house!!

Very nice getaway

We stayed at the cottage for a week while renovations were being done to our home. Funny thing is we live only 16 miles away but this felt like a different world. Very quiet country setting. There is a neighbor fairly close by but she was very nice and talked with us some. The house was clean and well stocked with essentials even extra fishing gear. The river was awesome! Stairs going right into it as described in the listing. We waded and then fished in the deeper part , didn’t catch anything but had several bites on the last day of our stay. Coolest thing was the river otter was saw, he was huge! Lastly Brandy was very helpful with all of our questions, ect. I highly recommend this river cottage.

“A River Runs Behind It”

My family spent one week at the property. The house was comfortable and clean. The South Saluda River that runs behind the house is within 50ft; and, I did fish, and catch, a couple trout fly fishing there. The neighborhood is generally quiet, especially at night. Renters should be aware that the neighbors on either side are relatively close, and although they are separated on both sides by a nice privacy fence, you are not as secluded as you might think from the property description. The fully fenced yard was great for our dog to run free and relax with the rest of us. The fire circle and abundant firewood made for enjoyable nighttime chatting sessions. We did find that there were several household items that were in short supply that required us to provide for on our own. Brandy, the property manager, was very helpful and available throughout the entire process from booking questions to checkout wrap-up and direct feedback. We would definitely consider staying at Lazy River Cottage once again.

Getaway on the Saluda River

The cottage in the river is located in a quiet area not far from great hiking and the town of travelers rest. Brandy was available for any and all questions and left nice touches at the house like spare toiletries in case you forgot yours, snacks and more. But the real gem of the property is the outdoor space. A wonderful fire pit overlooking the River complete with pic-nic table and grill made for a fun getaway for us and our pups. And when the weather got too wet, we had plenty of space inside to watch movies and play games.

Fishing day

Came from Florida for a few days fly fishing. But surprise very cold weather kept fishing to one day. But a good fun day. This place a) had its own place on the Salina River, and b) is near plenty other spots!

Quaint getaway

We appreciated all the extras the host offered. Loved the snacks ! The weather wasn’t great while we were here, but we made the best of it. We explored the parks nearby and traveler’s rest. Had a great time!

Very clean

House was just as described and very clean. Would have enjoyed using the backyard but it was a cold, windy weekend and not great for sitting outside. We did enjoy the rooster visits and owners recommendations for activities were very helpful.

Nice Gem Near Table Rock

Very cute house located near Table Rock, perfect for our staycation. Able to get some morning hikes in, go back to the house to shower and then rest in the yard. Met the neighbors who were very friendly and kind, including Scooby, the neighbors’ dog who stays off leash. He was a total gentleman but our chiweenie was not happy lol. Overall a great stay.

We love to renovate homes and make them beautiful but it's kind of bitter-sweet. In our flipping company when we finally make them beautiful, they sell and we start over. This is our chance to make it beautiful and keep it that way.
