Beautiful cabin!

Great place to stay with the family. Plenty of space for our crew. LOVED the lower level - pool table, foosball and tons of games for the kids. Close to to public river and do owing The cabin was clean, stocked with linens and kitchen needs.

Charming & Cozy

We utilized the cabin for an officer retreat to help our students grow together and set goals for next year- the cabin was beyond perfect! Great spaces, very cozy and comfortable and our crew absolutely loved it. Thank you so much for hosting us!

Great, large house with a good setup for multiple families. Fully stocked kitchen, YouTube.TV with plenty to watch, multiple entertainment rooms, wrap-around porch with lots of seating, and the sound of the river down below. It’s as secluded and far away as you can get.Short walk down to the river access and a game room in the basement with pool and foosball tables and lots of board games, dominos, etc. All and all, a great home if you have multiple families and you want to be secluded and stay-in or enjoy sitting outside on the porch in the depth of the wilderness. Plenty to keep the kids busy.Some of the bathrooms can use some updates/fixes, but everything was in working order. Note the roads coming in from the south (fastest way) and the driveway of the house are very steep. These roads are also dirt/gravel so highly suggest a 4 wheel drive car and though longer, use the north route in-out of the house. Avoid arriving at night and definitely be careful if weather is bad.

Family Time

We had the best time staying here! The home is as exactly as described, but even better! Beautiful home has everything you need for your time away and it is clean and spacious. We loved spending mornings drinking our coffee on the rockers and listening to the water. The New River is just on the other side of the front of the house, we walked right over to fish and play in the water. We went to Virginia Creeper Trail and rode bikes on the 17mile trail. On the way back we stopped and ate at Red Dog-food was delicious, but remember that you are on mountain time and large groups take a bit longer to have your food ready. We spent a day at West Jefferson shopping and eating at Boondocks. We played games around the table, went for lots of walks and saw so many deer, went out at night and the sky was full of lighting bugs! Barbara, thank you for your quick replies and for sharing your wonderful property with us, we will be back!

Beautiful home with a perfect location

Our family stayed here for an extended weekend for a double funeral. This is a beautiful home located at a perfect site. Hosts responded very promptly to questions and concerns while onsite.

Christmas at the cabin

Barbara is great with communication. And helpful in every way. We had our first Christmas all together in years, and it was the perfect place to do it.
