Nice updated cape house

Great updated comfortable home in a great neighborhood with friendly neighbors. The neighborhood kids even knocked on our door to play with our kids. Our kids loved the bedroom with bunk beds and the large downstairs playroom. House was extremely clean and has a charming decor.

Excellent location!

This property was within a 10 minute drive to beaches, groceries, restaurants, and Main St. It had plenty of room for the whole family to get together for our summer reunion. We only wished that there were more seats or beanbag chairs for the movie theater, cookware, mixing bowls, and storage containers for a family who likes to cook together. We never tried the outdoor gas firepit, but the gas grill was great and high quality.

Family Summer Trip

This was a last minute quick summer trip for our family with age group from infants to seniors. Property is conveniently located near to shopping places, restaurants & nearby beaches. We found the property to be nicely done, clean and it was a pretty comfortable stay for us. Couple of things that we typically expect in VRBO properties are toilet papers and kitchen towels which were not available. On the last night of our stay AC’s stopped working for two of the bedrooms! Besides these we had nice stay at this property!

Thanks. We do have toilet paper and kitchen towels in the cleaning supplies room. There at many features in this property and Guests are expected to read the instructions. We will update the instructions to make it more clear.

Great house in great location with professional host

First of all this is a full size 4bedroom single family house, bigger than we expected and not the small cottages you normally see in Cape. It sits in a nice neighborhood next to a golf county club. We like Falmouth as it close to many shops and restaurants as well as beaches and ferry services. Kids like the kids room very much and we spent quite bit time playing ping pong and enjoying the outdoor gas fire pit in back yard which is really nice. Host is nice and responsive, have put lots of thoughts in details such as labels on everything and instructions for home theater otherwise we might never figure out with so many switches and remotes in the house. Definitely a smooth and pleasant vacation.

The house was very adequate in size for our family of 7. We found wet towels in washer when we arrived @ 4p.m.. The basement was very musty smelling, there were dehumidifiers which did not work. The kitchen was very under supplied with dishes, pans, bowls, dish towels, very minimally equipped. The listing mentions paper products like paper towel and toilet paper are supplied, we had none. The yard was neglected as far as weeds and decorative plants. The trash and recycling were an issue, old toilet in garage. The bedroom downstairs has no AC and the ceiling fan in kitchen was broken. Lighting in bathroom downstairs was terrible. This house could be awesome if given some thought on guests needs and consistency in restocking.

Thanks for the feedbacks, Laurie. We do apologize for any inconveniences. But it would be much appreciated and helpful if these could be reported at time of check-in. We have a professional team to clean and stock the house and it would be difficult for them to check everything in a whole Single Family House (though they do find the glasses you've left and we've mailed to you!). Therefore we appreciate an instant feedback from staying guest so we can get it fixed for your best experience. The City of Falmouth acknowledged the trash/recycle issue due to recent change of the waste management and it should get fixed now. Part of the basement was unfinished and it wasn't meant to be included in living area, though we do put dehumidifiers and fan there to help the air circulating. On behalf of the host, we appreciate your feedbacks, and will work with our crew to improve the cleaning and restock processes.

Rules, Rules, Rules and More Rules

Overall, the house is clean and comfortably accommodates a group of 6 adults and 4 children with a nice backyard and gas fire pit. The vibe, however, is not very welcoming and at times even punitive with cameras everywhere. There are countless stickers telling you what not to touch or go in the house. For example, you can't even use the garage or shed to store bikes or golf clubs as it is off limits. The listing boasts the house has a "fully stock kitchen which is a complete misrepresentation. There are no small plates or proper pots and cooking utensils. Either plan to eat out or bring your own kitchen supplies. The AC located in the living room is simply not adequate to cool the first-floor bedroom which makes the room very uncomfortable at night even with the door open. The bottom line is that this house is not worth the weekly rental fee we paid. Instead of a chill week on Cape Cod, we had a week of restrictions and limitations.

We are sorry that you were annoyed by stickers and house rules. It was intended to provide better instructions and keep our guests safe as many guests might easily get puzzled and lost in a single family house, especially those guests from out of state. Guests are welcomed to use garage as storage but shed is stored with landscaping tools which is necessary to run the house but not suitable for guests. Kitchen supplies are subjective as every guest cook different food, though we will try our best to stock it. We appreciate the valuable feedback and will update the instructions to be more instructively and less restrictively.

Disturbingly dirty

The location was nice. The fire pit was fun. And there were two adorable rabbits who appeared to live on the property and visited often. But the uncleanliness made it very unsettling to stay at this property. In the bathrooms there was dirt and hair on the floors and in most of the drawers. There were so many crumbs in the bunk beds that my children refused to sleep in them. There were crumbs and stains on the couches. And we found a half eaten chocolate candy in the bedroom night stand! It was disgusting. We also found it disappointing that the AV equipment in the movie room did not work so we couldn't watch movies. And the treadmill was broken so we couldn't use that either. There were about 2 clean towels available for our entire family. And they were wet so were not even sure if those were clean. There were no wash cloths or hand cloths. When we called to inform the owners that there were no clean towels or face cloths we were instructed to go buy some. This property was not acceptable.

MS Challenge Walk

Very beautiful yet extremly cozy at the same time. We were doing a 50 mile walk over 3 days for MS so we did not spend much time at the house. But after walking all day it was very relaxing to stay at this house. Had all the comforts of home! Would highly recommend this house for a family get togther.

Look elsewhere

If you don’t have anything nice to say, say nothing at all. Many emails were exchanged with the agent and she was very receptive to our needs. This home may very well be the first time that the owner has rented and will learn in time what people expect from a VRBO property.
