The Hat Creek Retreat offers free firewood for the duration of your stay. A permit is required for outdoor fires. Please call the number provided prior to burning to ensure approved burn days.
REMOTE WORKSTATION:
Free and reliable Starlink highspeed internet and WiFi. Up to 250 Mbps. A dedicated remote workstation is provided in the living room.
BATTERY BACKUP:
Power outages often occur in the upper mountain Burney basin area. The Hat Creek Retreat has solar and battery backup and solar panels to recharge in the event of a power outage.
PRISTINE WATER:
Our water is drawn onsite from our underground aquifer that has been tested to rank among the finest in the state.
BRING YOUR PETS:
Up to 2 pets allowed. 70 lbs or less. Pets are NOT allowed on furniture. $75 per pet, per visit.

The Hat Creek Retreat is so much more than just a cabin. It is spacious, pristine clean, and everything in the home was created for the feel of being private and quiet. The cups, plates, towels, curtains and motif all had the same beautiful and rich looking theme. The bed was ultra comfortable with cozy covers and the couch in the living room was a place we never wanted to get up from. The door to the outside in the bathroom created the perfect breeze throughout the house. For someone to be so gracious as to share all their belongings with strangers is something I have no words for. There was everything you could imagine. Videos, games, glasses, a fireplace, cooking necessities, everything you could want for your holiday. But for my husband and myself, it was a true retreat. We sat cuddled together on the loveseat on the deck having such a good time laughing and just being together with the trees and mountains and birds. It is a short drive to the waterfall so we went a few times and walked the loop. Thank you Ron for sharing your home with us. We loved it.

Great private retreat. Comfortable, cozy with a great kitchen where we baked fresh fruit pies, cornbread and chili. It was relaxing and we really appreciated the privacy.

My two boys and I had a great time. Perfect location for fishing, hiking, and exploring. This property is a close drive to so many activities in nature is a true gem. Easy helpful host. I would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay. The home was well equipped and comfortable. The neighborhood was off the main road and quiet. The property was centrally located with short drives to Lassen and Burney falls. Although there were only two of use the place had ample room for a larger family. I highly recommend this property. Hope we can return someday.

Peaceful, quiet and relaxing! If you are looking to go somewhere for a reset or getaway close to Burney Falls or Lassen National Park, book this. The cabin had every amenity you would need and then some.

The communication with Ron was quick and seamless. The decor of the cabin was fascinating which kept the family and I staring at all the cool stuff on the wall. The Nintendo also brought us back to our childhood!

Great home base for fishing weekend
We stayed at the house for a fly fishing weekend, and had a great time. The house was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. We had some great fishing within a short drive. Would definitely stay there again.

Great Cabin
We really enjoyed staying at the Hat Creek Retreat.Great location for exploring the surrounding area and taking day trips to Lassen Park, Burney Falls, Shasta, etc... It's nice to come home to all the amenities and comfort of a cabin.

Hat Creek Retreat
This cabin/house was one of the cleanest I have stayed at. The owner was super responsive with any questions. This are is very remote which we wanted but due to snowfall we weren’t able to do all hiking we wanted, so we did have to drive a bit to find things to do. Overall we really enjoyed the stay.

A charming place in a beautiful setting
This place had everything we needed for our outdoor getaway. Very close to Burney Falls and Hat Creek fishing is right next door. Looking forward to our opportunity to return.

We had Such a fun time
My family (6 in total plus 1 dog) stayed here for 3 nights, we had such an awesome time we didnt want to leave. Host had great communication and made the whole process very easy. The cabin was very clean and comfortable and the property was so beautiful. We were all very satisfied with our stay here and will definitely be coming back!
